The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community supporting unaccompanied minors who have experienced human rights abuses and are seeking asylum, refugee status and settlement in the United Kingdom.
As an ‘advocate’ caseworkers support young people to express their views and wishes, to stand up for their rights, make choices and access opportunities.
As a Casework Advocate you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being.
As a Casework Advocate you will be out and about with young people - accompanying to appointments and encouraging their involvement and access to their community and support networks. You must be prepared to challenge certain decisions and practices where required for the welfare of the young person. The role can involve supporting young people to initiate legal challenges when necessary and advocating on young person’s behalf where required.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will be responsible for a range of essential duties, including receiving, reviewing, and securely storing incoming RLSE applications and maintaining accurate and timely records of applications, awards and outcomes. You will also be expected to prepare and present application packs for the decision-making panel, which meets monthly for internal and bi-monthly for external applications, coordinate panel schedules, agendas, and communications, plus process and action panel decisions, ensuring outcome letters are distributed and payments are issued appropriately.
We will also count on you to provide consistent feedback to referring agencies and applicants on application outcomes and to explore and assess innovative grant proposals such as collective prison-based projects through site visits and liaison with prison governors. About the role
We are seeking a Head of Fundraising to develop and drive Iswe’s income generation strategy and grow a high-performing fundraising team.
This role is ideal for someone experienced and confident enough to lead the function with minimal oversight, but still eager to be hands-on. You will bring a good understanding of the climate, democracy, and systems change funding landscape, ideally along with existing funder relationships. The role
The Events Assistant supports members of the Events Team to deliver a large and varied programme of events, including: public events (debates, discussions, festivals, performances, lates), academic events (lectures, conferences, prizes & medals ceremonies), and our annual Summer Showcase, our yearly free festival of ideas.
You will work directly with the Events Producers and Events Managers to support events delivered at our historic home in London, at partner venues across the UK, and online.
The Events Team ensures that all events are delivered to a high standard, reflecting the Academy in a positive light and ensuring that we are open and inclusive. The Wildlife Aid Foundation (WAF) is an animal charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of British wildlife. We are passionate about protecting the future for our native species.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Manage WAF’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, TikTok), including scheduling daily content, posts, stories, and reels.
