This organisation is rapidly growing and has a large portfolio of donors that provide funds for a variety of international projects.

What is the role?

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the main responsibilities of the role are:

• Leading on all internal project reporting, as well as external funder reporting and project audits
• Supporting the project teams with funder proposals & ensuring compliance with regulations across projects
• Managing all processes related to project costs, charge outs & cashflow forecasts
• Line management of one direct report

The role is offering a salary of up to £65,000 and hybrid working - two compulsory days in the office.

What do you need?

• A full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Post-qualification experience in a similar environment; strong knowledge of project lifecycles, donor reporting etc
• A keen knowledge of, and experience working in the non-profit sector
• Strong Excel skills; the ability to pick up new systems with ease
• Good communication skills; proven experience of interacting with stakeholders at a variety of levels

The Policy, Strategies and Research team is central in ensuring the voices of people experiencing homelessness are heard and represented, used alongside data and evidence gathered from our work we can advocate for positive change across the UK.

We are now looking for a Strategy and Research Manager to join the team and coordinate our internal strategies, using insight to help us drive forward our practice and setting a clear forward direction across a range of functions. Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the research agenda with input from senior colleagues, an understanding of the organisations’ priority areas and the experiences and perspectives of our services and the clients and partners who use them. 
• Ensuring a solid evidence base on which to build through the commissioning and use of high quality research.
• Bringing together all functional strategies across St Mungo’s ensuring they are comprehensive, concise and coherent and support us to move forward and continuously improve what we do.
• Monitor the delivery of the St Mungo’s 2024-2030 organisational strategy, ensuring that the strategic goals are being delivered, reviewed, and refreshed in response to necessary factors.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. Key responsibilities  

It is a hugely exciting time to be working in the online safety field. New regulation created by the Online Safety Act is set to significantly increase companies’ duties to keep users safe, especially children. At the same time, the online issues which families are contending with continue to evolve at pace: from mis- and dis-information in the age of generative AI, to increasing volumes of misogynistic online abuse, and data and privacy risks to name just a few.

There is cross-party consensus on the importance of tackling these issues, and a real appetite for practical, evidence-led solutions.

Against this backdrop, and ahead of a new government, Internet Matters is recruiting a Policy Manager to help ensure that our voice is heard in these conversations, advocating for the interests of children and families to be put first. This wide-ranging role will include:

• Delivering policy projects on particular issues or themes (e.g. reports, briefings, roundtable events) – and supporting projects from other teams which have policy components. The successful candidate will author external-facing outputs, with support from the wider team.

• Stakeholder engagement, public affairs and influencing – maintaining and developing a network of contacts across Government, Parliament, regulators, the third sector and industry. Identifying opportunities to push forward our agenda with key decision-makers, including through active participation in meetings and events.

• Reactive policy work – e.g. monitoring the policy landscape, writing blogs, producing briefings, responding to consultations. 

• Supporting the successful running of our Expert Advisory Panel and Vulnerable Users Working Group, e.g. though producing minutes of discussions, diarising meetings, sourcing speakers, compiling agendas, etc. 

• Contributing your ideas to team discussions about the overarching strategy for our policy and research work.

About you 

The successful candidate will have professional experience of working in policy, public affairs, or a closely related field. Knowledge of online safety/tech policy would be beneficial, but is not a requirement.

You may have worked for another charity/not-for-profit, a trade association, in government or in Parliament. You are excited by the opportunities of working in a small organisation, where everyone lends a hand to deliver key priorities, and where you can contribute very actively to our wider thinking and strategy.

Sometimes your work may focus on one or two of the key responsibilities listed above more than the others, in line with organisational need and external developments. We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable with embracing all aspects of the job, with support, even though you may well have a preference for (or greater experience in) certain aspects of it. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience of public affairs and influencing work, given that external outreach is likely to be a significant focus for us in the year ahead, but please do still apply if your experience lies more elsewhere (e.g. writing reports).

Skills, knowledge and experience  

Essential 

• Professional experience of working in policy, public affairs, or a closely related field. 

• Knowledge of the policymaking process and how it can be influenced, e.g. through Parliament.

The Digital Transformation Manager leads THET’s efforts to transform our own programmes of work and the way THET  operates, and also that of the Health Partnership community to better incorporate and enable best practice in digital solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy

• Lead the review and delivery of THET’s digital transformation strategy. 

• Lead and implement THET’s digital enablers to support the organisation’s strategic plan.

Product management

• Develop and enhance the user experience of both external and internal stakeholders across key digital products including the THET website, Pulse platform, learning platforms and bespoke applications.

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for Partnerships Grant Giving Officer to join our Partnership team. This role is offered on a hybrid-working basis with home working combined with 2 days per week on average in our London, Manchester or Birmingham office (TBC on application).

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation; health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year. It is a truly exciting time to be joining Centrepoint, as we work towards our vision to end youth homelessness by 2037.

About the role

The Grant Officer post will help Centrepoint to develop a grant-giving project as a part of a wider externally funded programme called More Than a Roof. The More Than a Roof programme that is supported by a large corporate partner, is projected to launch in the Autumn 2024 and will last for three years.

At Centrepoint and through the partners we work with, we see vulnerable young people arriving at supported living hostels following periods of rough sleeping, family relationship breakdowns, and a myriad of other traumatic experiences. Initially, Centrepoint wants to transform hostels around the country into homely and safe environments where young people can overcome trauma and receive the specialist support they need to give them a starting point for a happier life. We want to enable our 100 plus partner charities to access funding to implement the More Than a Roof philosophy, through a new grant-giving scheme. Youth homelessness charities would have the opportunity to apply for grants to make the living spaces of young people escaping homelessness, more like homes. This new programme will be the first time that Centrepoint has provided grants to other organisations. It will be an innovation for Centrepoint and one that we will learn from, as we provide vital additional funding for small to medium organisations working with homeless young people across the sector.

What you'll be doing: 

• oversee the whole grant-giving process from the launch to communications and outreach; application and selection
• putting forward applications to the Grant Allocations board for approval
• organise the awards and distribute the funding in accordance to policies ensuring it is dispensed to a diversity of organisations across the UK and delivers impactful change for homeless young people
• maintain a grants management system and manage data in line with GDPR and other relevant policies
• establish and build strong relationships with strategic stakeholders and grantees
• monitor and evaluate the impact and success of each grant given by getting grantees to complete required monitoring forms,
• ensure all activity achieves the intended outputs and outcomes on time and within budget.

Rethink Nature is a partnership of seven leading species conservation organisations whose aim is ‘to combine their extensive knowledge and experience to catalyse the action that species need across the four nations of the UK’.  We have received funding from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to set up a Species Recovery Partnership for NI to strengthen and build the Rethink partnership in NI, and work with government, other eNGOs and key stakeholders to better deliver key outcomes for species. You will work on behalf of the Partnership but be managed by the Head of Species at RSPB NI, and will be responsible for managing the Partnership Administrator. You will also work closely with Rethink Nature UK's Species Advocacy Lead. The role holder can be based anywhere in the UK but will be expected to travel to Northern Ireland (Belfast) approximately once every two months.

What's the role about?

We are looking for a highly organised and passionate individual with a good working knowledge of priority species in NI, the mechanisms needed to deliver for them, and the ability to bring stakeholders together. You will be responsible for managing the project to sure that that the following key outcomes are delivered within budget and on time.

• A set of Species Recovery Principles for NI
• A cross-taxa list of highest priority species for NI and concise species action plans (cSAPs) for these species
• A 3-day facilitated workshop to agree on the prioritised list and how the cSAPs and the bid will be developed.
• A NI Species bid, similar to those in GB (Species on the Edge, Back from the Brink, Natur Am Byth), to deliver the critical actions outlined in the cSAPs. This would form the basis of a bid to NLHF for development and delivery funding for a NI species bid.
• A document outlining the key policy and legislative changes needed to deliver for species in Northern Ireland and associated advocacy to ensure it gains attention and influences change.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Demonstrable experience of developing and working in partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
• Demonstrable leadership ability, able to lead without line management authority
• Organising meetings, facilitated workshops and events
• Excellent written, spoken communication and presentation skills for a wide variety of audiences
• Competent IT user (e.g. MS packages, Outlook etc)
• Demonstrable ability to manage project budgets and changes within projects
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
• Proven time management and organisational skills
• Project Management Qualification or appropriate training
• Educated to degree or HND level in a biological or environmental science, or equivalent experience.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Knowledge of priority species in NI and main mechanisms for delivery of conservation action
• Knowledge of operating environment in NI
• Experience of working with external stakeholders such as statutory agencies and other eNGOs

The role:

The Head of Programmes is a wide-ranging and key role within the Smallwood Trust’s leadership structure working closely with the CEO, the Grants Team and the Board.

Important priorities for the Head of Programmes will include:

Working closely with the CEO to implement and operationalise Smallwood’s refreshed grant-making strategy which is due to be approved by the end of 2024. This will include budgeting and implementing/designing new grant processes and procedures where appropriate.

Shape and deliver an evaluation framework that enables us to more effectively track progress against our longer-term outcomes as identified in our theory of change and gender-lens framework.

Instill a learning and continuous improvement culture across the organisation, to ensure that a coherent approach is taken with our grants programmes and our funding meets the needs of our Grant Partners.

The role requires an established leader who is adept at demonstrating internal and external leadership and is able to provide robust grant management, ensuring programme quality and assurance to the CEO, the Board and major external funders.

The role will have 7 direct reports. You will be comfortable in the detail and bigger picture and be able to provide support and encouragement to the Grants Team across Smallwood’s grant and programme cycles and to ensure that best practice and learning from our grant programmes is shared externally and adopted internally.

The groups meet either in person or on Zoom; three meetings per year are held in each of the 14 regions. Muscle Group meetings are a relaxed, confidential forum for people to ask questions, share experiences and learn from guest speakers. They should be fully accessible to all, including family, friends, and carers of those living with conditions.

You will lead on the organisation of these meetings and management of the volunteers who chair them, ensuring throughout that meetings meet the needs of our community.  

You will also support the Volunteer Engagement Manager to ensure that volunteers across the organisation are recruited, trained and managed effectively.
