Job description

Girlguiding are looking for a Procurement manager to embed its new procurement framework, and develop our contract management capacity across the organisation.

Girlguiding’s strategy – Today, Tomorrow, Together – is based on four pillars

  • Creating exceptional experiences for girls
  • Developing a rewarding volunteer experience
  • Being inclusive and impactful
  • Making Girlguiding sustainable for the future.

We are embarking on investing in a number of significant organisational, transformation and change projects, especially around our digital estate, which need a procurement professional to ensure best practice and value for money.

The Procurement Manager works collaboratively with budget holders across the whole organisation and is the subject matter expert for all things procurement and contract management.

Do you enjoy leading colleagues through change to embed new ways of working?  Are you a team player who can work cross-organisationally with staff at all levels?  Can you translate procurement speak into plain English to demystify procurement best practice? Do you have a keen eye for detail? Do you have experience of complex contract negotiation and management? If so, we have just the job for you!

Girlguiding operates a hybrid working arrangement where office based staff are required to attend the office on average two days a week, or 40% of working time across the year. For this role, we will consider flexibility in work location, including fully remote working, so we encourage applications from all candidates. All staff are required to carry out our online health and safety training and complete a DSE risk assessment to ensure we can provide the support you require.

About Girlguiding

This is a really exciting time to join Girlguiding. We have much to be proud of in our one hundred years of history, but we know that to remain vibrant and relevant to young people we must continually evolve.

We’ve begun a process of significant change: transforming the organisation so it can meet the challenges of the future by putting young people at the heart of our organisation. We’re on a mission to amplify the voices of girls and young women, so they can champion change in their own lives and the wider world; to build strong partnerships that can increase our reach and impact; and to increase the support we offer our amazing adult volunteers who deliver incredible experiences to young people across the UK every week.

Girlguiding values the differences that a diverse workforce brings and is committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. Girlguiding is proud to be part of the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme, a member of the Business Disability Forum, and a member of Time to Change. While Girlguiding’s young members may be women only, our staff team is mixed gender. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
