To support the Programme Finance Manager in running efficient and effective programme financial accounting, programme financial management and programme financial reporting processes in relation to AKF (UK)’s programmes and grants. To provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept notes/proposals to final reports. To maintain a close working relationship with AKF (UK) finance and programme teams and relevant staff from across the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) agencies and external donors as required.
Programme financial planning, management, and reporting
In close consultation with the programmes/partnerships team:
• Support the design and implementation of effective quality controls to ensure compliance with donor requirements and to maintain appropriate donor stewardship, including through manuals, checklists, templates, and other tools.
• Monitor spending and activity implementation and ensure regular scheduling of grants management meetings, alerting the Programme Finance Manager and Programmes/Partnerships team about significant under or overspend on a timely basis.
• Maintain internal tools that track active grants, cost recoveries and cash balances and ensure they are kept up to date.
• Maintain internal tools tracking pipeline and secured funding (Awards Information Management System -AIMS) and ensure they are kept up to date.
• Prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including (but not limited to) the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboard, and quarterly cash balances (co-finance) report.
Grants management and compliance
• Maintain the grants management tracker so that grants are properly recorded and monitored, ensuring that input from the Programmes/Partnerships team and the Programme Finance Manager are incorporated on a timely basis.
• Undertake administrative tasks related to grants, including setting up of grant codes (pipeline and secured), collecting and forwarding information to different units and executing follow up tasks as required.
• Review budgets for concepts/proposals, ensuring the inclusion of AKF(UK) costs, make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team and field units to ensure these are complete, accurate, consistent with the narrative, compliant with donor requirements, and correctly formatted for presentation to donors.
• Support the preparation, review, and submission process for donor financial (and narrative as relevant, e.g. ECHO) reports to ensure compliance with donor requirements; ensure reports are produced on time to a high standard and are consistent with the narrative.
• Ensure timely submission of cash requests as required by donor contracts and internal sub-grant agreements.
• Prepare donor and internal sub-grant agreements with AKDN agencies, field units, and implementing partners, including (but not limited to) those with co-financing.
• Ensure that donor and AKDN rules are being adhered to regarding procurement, accounting, project expenditure, and implementation of activities through regular reporting, engagement with the field, and remote spot checks.
• Carry out monitoring visits and audits on specific projects as necessary.
• Assist in the preparation, support, and follow up of internal or external grant audits and expenditure verifications of AKDN field units, including direct liaison with auditors as required, and ensure that management (programmes and finance) is apprised, including through maintaining and updating the audit and disallowance summary.
• Develop and deliver relevant training and reference material on grants management, including procurement, donor regulations, IATI, finance and reporting for Programme, Finance, and other field-based staff; act as a resource for agencies/field units on donor regulations and compliance.
• Ensure all AKF (UK) direct grants are reflected on the IATI system and update the required information on a quarterly basis.
Audit, internal controls, and risk
• Contribute on programme finance to all audits and statutory compliance in line with UK and AKF/AKDN regulations and compliance requirements.
• In collaboration with field units, prepare due diligence assessments for potential new partners or donors and ensure these are refreshed periodically.
• Troubleshoot financial, donor compliance and procurement-related queries identified through monitoring grants or as raised by management or field units.
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations. The role will involve travel to countries in which we operate grants. Normally this could be 2 – 3 trips per year.
Qualifications
• CCAB qualified accountant (desirable).
Experience
• 3 years relevant experience in financial accounting and financial reporting
• Experience of designing and managing effective administrative systems and procedures
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
• Experience working in international organisations or donor agencies including field-level implementation highly desirable.

The Foundation has just started using a new CRM after undergoing a CRM migration from Raiser’s Edge, a very exciting time to be joining the Foundation! What does the role involve?

- Ensure that the use of the Fundraising database and the capture of all data from supporters or prospects conforms to data protection guidelines including GDPR in particular relating to supporter preferences and consent.
- Support training for colleagues using the new CRM (Beacon) and help ensure all members are trained and kept up to date on new features and enhancements as they require to do their job effectively.
- Support the reconciliation of the bank statement with Beacon and ensure the Finance team know where to find information to enable accurate coding for management accounts.
What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?
- Demonstrable relevant experience working in Fundraising, or a Charity database team role using Beacon, Raiser’s Edge or any database similar, with experience of CRMs in general.

Introduction
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis (CF). We fund vital research, improve care, speak out and race towards effective treatments for all. We won’t stop until everyone with cystic fibrosis can live without limits. CF is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 11,000 people in the UK.
In recent years, improvements in the treatments for CF have transformed the symptoms and quality of life experienced by many, but not all of the community. The enormous leap forward that has been made is both wonderful and challenging and brings new support needs.
With better health, more people with CF now want to plan careers, but need to balance this with management of their condition. Others still need support with barriers to work or help to navigate their rights at work when they need to focus on their health. This led us to create Work Forwards, a dedicated programme of career, work and employment support for the CF community.

Project Brief
We are now looking to work with a freelance digital creative producer/editor to deliver some of the project’s key resources.
Working closely with Cystic Fibrosis Trust throughout, the freelancer will provide creative input to identify the most engaging way to execute these resources within the available budget, and will carry out the design and delivery, giving us a set of impactful resources to support people with CF in work and employment.
These resources represent the culmination of work done over the course of the Work Forwards programme so far, and need to be delivered in mid-August 2025 ahead of a major report to our funder, the National Lottery Community Fund, in September 2025.
Key Deliverables
· 6 x 30-90 second videos to explain CF related employment rights to young people affected by CF (scripts and voice-overs are already arranged)
· An engaging, informative resource to help employers understand cystic fibrosis (information content already available, but we would like the freelancer to offer creative input into how this is presented).
Resources must be high quality, accessible and delivered in line with our brand guidelines.
Indicative Budget
There is budget available to deliver this project and this is in the region of £2,500 - £6,000. This must cover all costs to complete this work, including consultant fees, and any materials and resources needed to undertake the project and deliver these resources.
It is accepted that it may be the responsibility of some other providers (including ourselves) to collect and provide some of the information and content required.
Given the available budget, we do not expect this role to involve filming, but we are looking for the freelancer to bring their creative ideas on how we can amplify the project and make the content accessible and engaging.

The HIV Prevention Peer Project Lead will coordinate a team of workers in the delivery of an HIV prevention project in Southwark borough to increase uptake & awareness of HIV & sexual health testing, PrEP and HIV prevention strategies among Latin American (Spanish and Portuguese speaking) communities. The work involves mapping community locations conducting HIV Prevention outreach and testing and engaging community ambassadors from local Latin American-focused organisations and businesses.
The project aims to raise awareness about methods of HIV Prevention, as well as reduce HIV stigma alongside improving the general health and wellbeing for Latin American communities in Southwark.
Programme
The Southwark Latin Community HIV Prevention Project will deliver a targeted programme of outreach, engagement, and education to the Latin American community in Southwark. The programme will include street-based outreach with our community engagement bus, Point of Care HIV testing and PrEP awareness sessions in community spaces such as high streets, local markets, nightclubs, bars/restaurants, and local Latin support and social organisations.
Role
You will coordinate a small team of staff and volunteers to provide education, support and HIV testing and referral services to Latin Communities in Southwark. You will coordinate monthly outreach activities using our mobile community testing bus to deliver interventions that increase HIV and sexual health testing uptake, condom usage, PrEP awareness, HIV treatment adherence support and reduce HIV stigma. You will also deliver broader health advice, interventions, and referrals for Latin American populations, such as GP registration, blood pressure, blood sugar, weight management & smoking cessation.
You will gather data from outreach and collate to create quarterly reporting for our funders.
You will work with the METRO Comms team to develop promotional materials, create a social media impact, and establish service branding to support effective community engagement and service delivery.
The post holder is required to be fluent speaker in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese.
