Role purpose
Compass is a service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in H&F and Hounslow. The service provides support with welfare benefits, debt, housing and well-being/peer support groups/workshops.
The role of the Information and Advice Worker will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to H&F and Hounslow residents living with mental health problems. Advice issues may include, housing, benefits, council tax, debt, signposting etc.
The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the project manager. In addition to advice casework, the Advice Worker will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service when needed.
The successful candidate will be required to work alongside other caseworkers and volunteers supporting on the project and report to the project manager.
The Advice Worker will be required to work within the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS), and adhere to Mind’s policies and procedures.
Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.
Place of work
The Advice Worker will be required to work both from home and the Ealing, H&F and Hounslow office when necessary, alongside work in the community.

About Us
The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.
The role
Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. And, ultimately this is all because, the bigger our portfolio of corporate partners all feeling great about their involvement with us, the more able we are to raise the funds we need to keep up with an ever-increasing demand for our services.
About You
You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. You have a CV that demonstrates solid experience in a comparable role in a ‘business-to-business’ environment, a role - the success of which, is dependent on the levels of energy and proactivity you provide. This could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. However, if you have a solid B2B background and want to explore a change of direction you are also very welcome to apply. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ your story through your presentation skills. You also need great listening skills so you can build a picture of what each new corporate partner is looking to achieve by signing up to our cause. You have used Microsoft suite products before – including PowerPoint. A driving licence and use of a car is desirable as the role requires regular client visits, some of whom may not be accessible by public transport.

How you will make a difference
As the Workplace Mental Health and Training Manager, I develop, deliver and manage mental health training and initiatives to support employers, employees and others, in creating mentally healthy workplaces and communities.
I create, and oversee the creation of, new and bespoke training, initiatives and contribute to the design, development and delivery of consultancy services, aligned with our other services.
I review our existing products and services for reliability, evidence-base, relevancy and effectiveness and apply or project-manage improvements.
I ensure the continued high-quality of delivery of our mental health training and initiatives to external audiences across both Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK.

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving forward the charity’s service improvement priorities to improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.
Using your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.

We are now looking for a Finance Manager who will join a well-developed team and be responsible for embedding the progress made and identifying further areas for improvement.
About the role of Finance Manager
The Finance Manager is a core member of WCC's management team and is a key advisor and partner to the CEO on all areas of finance. The post-holder will have responsibility for timely and efficient management of the day-to-day accounting function and all internal and external financial reporting. Reporting directly to the CEO this role is part of a friendly, highly productive and collaborative, dedicated clinical and operational staff team of ten.
It is a varied and senior position that is part time, 3 days per week, and we are happy to discuss how the hours are worked over the week. It’s hybrid, working a minimum of one day per week in our Waterloo office. The salary is £45,000 to £48,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW etc).
- Have 5+ years PQE, preferably with charity sector/ fund accounting experience.
- Able to demonstrate working independently and as finance lead.

Job Summary
The Haringey Community Collaborative Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Collaborative team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.
We envisage the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.
Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. The post holder has lead responsibility for developing the Annual Work Programme, performance management and reporting against the targets and milestones in the Contract.
Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. This would include leading the shaping and delivery of a Capacity Building strategy; representing the VCS Alliance at stakeholder meetings and influencing key stakeholders to better support Haringey’s VCS; as well as growing the reach and impact of the Capacity Building service by engaging new funders and partners.

The United Reformed Church main office based at Church House and Methodist Church House are within 5 minutes walking distance of each other and easily accessible from major rail lines and tube stations. In this new role you will oversee all areas of building operations with responsibility for health and safety compliance, risk assessments, managing physical assets, enhancing building appearance, cleanliness, security, and overseeing contractors.
You are educated to degree level in a relevant field and IOSH or NEBOSH qualified. You have experience of buildings and health and safety management, managing facilities and contracts, and people management. You are highly customer focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to negotiate, make decisions and work collaboratively is essential. Knowledge of project management principles and experience of providing hospitality services would be a distinct advantage.

Your role will be to further develop and deliver a range of events and initiatives that the Harlequins Foundation offers to its supporters to help us to raise the funds we need to deliver our programmes. As the charitable arm of the Club, we deliver a variety of programmes aimed at achieving improved outcomes for education and employability, wellbeing and inclusion. The role will play a key part in delivering high-profile fundraising events while building the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and supporter types, being instrumental in delivering campaigns and events to engage new audiences with the Foundation’s purpose.
As a proactive and enthusiastic person, you'll need to be adept at managing multiple projects and events concurrently. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering events from Harlequins matchday activations to Foundation fundraising events.
You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.
The successful candidate will be experienced in planning and delivering a variety of events, ideally within the charity sector with a focus on fundraising. An ability to provide exceptional experiences, catering to different audiences including both sports fans and high-net worth individuals as appropriate. Some weekend and evening working will be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilites
- Support the development and delivery of a varied portfolio of events and fundraising activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Harlequins Foundation
- Deliver high quality supporter care and stewardship, ensuring a quality experience for supporters at all events that reflect the values and identity of the Foundation, and build long-term relationships with our supporters
- With support of the team where relevant, co-ordinate event logistics; including but not limited to sales, bookings and liaison with supporters and suppliers, material production, event marketing and promotion, set up, and delivery
- Maximise income from our portfolio of events and fundraising activations.
- Ensure relevant processes and policies are in place to deliver a successful, profitable events programme
- Oversee the management of fundraising systems and platforms to create the best possible experience for donors and participants
- Assist with all fundraising aspects of events including sourcing, recording and storing auction prizes and working with the team to manage auction fulfilment
- Regularly review the performance of events and fundraising campaigns, make recommendations for improvement, and support decision-making regarding fit of new opportunities for the Foundation
- Cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to Harlequin FC, their partners and sponsors, Quins Supporters Association (QUINSSA), Harlequins Players Association (HPA), event delivery partners and suppliers
- Represent the Foundation both internally and externally, acting as an ambassador for the Foundation and advocating for our work
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Exceptional events management and project management experience; managing a range of events and budgets in size, profile and scale
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget and project management
- Experience of delivering fundraising events and activations that can engage supporters
- Ability to build excellent relationships especially with supporters, partners, ambassadors and suppliers
- Strong team player and project leadership, ensuring clear and regular communication with the team and stakeholders as appropriate
- Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience of CRM systems and project management tools
- Experience of working within the sports charity/sports sector
- Experience of working with high-net-worth individuals or celebrities would be an advantage

A great sense of humour will serve you in good stead working in our busy, fast paced office.
