Victim Support is seeking an inspiring leader to join our Witness Service Mobilisation Team as the Head of Volunteering - Witness Service. In this pivotal fixed term role, you will lead the strategic development and operational delivery of the volunteering workstream during the Witness Service mobilisation, ensuring a diverse, skilled, and engaged volunteer workforce that enhances Witness Service delivery. You will develop and implement a volunteering strategy, update operational frameworks, manage risks, and champion diversity and equity goals. You'll also be responsible for engaging volunteers through the transition of the Witness Service, designing recruitment and onboarding strategies, and raising the profile of volunteers both internally and externally.

About the Role
The role involves working with sensitive and potentially traumatic subject matter and Occasional travel to attend meetings will be required.
As Witness Service Head of Volunteering, you will:
- Create and deliver a Witness Service mobilisation plan delivering the mobilisation project outcomes within the Witness Service volunteering strand.
- Develop and implement a volunteering strategy aligned to organisational and mobilisation priorities inclusive of diversity and equity goals.
- Update operational frameworks and formal volunteer policies.
- Manage risks and issues related to volunteering.
- Communicate and engage with volunteers regarding the transition to Victim Support.
- Design and implement recruitment and onboarding strategies reflecting community diversity.
- Lead and manage the volunteering mobilisation team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and development.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and operational teams to embed volunteering into service delivery and organisational culture.
- Provide expert leadership and advice on volunteer management practices, policies, and systems.
- Represent the Witness Service Mobilisation externally to promote volunteering and build strategic partnerships.
- Oversee volunteer engagement initiatives, including recognition programmes and forums.
- Provide regular reports to governance boards and senior leadership teams on progress, challenges, and volunteer metrics (recruitment, retention, training completion)

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Executive Support

Animal Equality is an international animal protection organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.
Animal Equality releases investigative materials captured from inside factory farms and slaughterhouses, exposing the conditions that farmed animals face around the world. We are seeking a creative, driven, and strategic Campaigns Coordinator to deliver our current high-impact campaigns with a view to exposing the cruel animal agriculture industries, influencing decision-makers, and mobilising the public to create lasting change for farmed animals.
Working closely with team members, the Campaigns Coordinator will design and deliver imaginative campaigns while working in alignment with the organisation’s wider mission: to end factory farming. The role requires initiative, creativity, tenacity, and a solutions-focused mindset, as well as the discipline to execute projects effectively and professionally.
The Campaigns Coordinator will report to the Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager and work closely with others across our UK and international teams. You will play a key role in coordinating and inspiring volunteers and external stakeholders.

- Campaign delivery: Drive Animal Equality’s high-impact campaigns, bringing the plight of farmed animals into the public consciousness. Plan, coordinate, and implement imaginative and effective campaign actions that influence policy-makers, businesses, philanthropists, and the public. Produce clear, compelling, and engaging campaign resources.
- Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, experts, regulators, allied organisations, and members of the public to strengthen campaign outcomes.
- Volunteer mobilisation: Grow and energise our Animal Protectors network through training, regular newsletter communication, and opportunities for online and in-person action.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Philanthropy and Research Officer to work as part of our Fundraising Team.

The Fundraising team is a dynamic group of fundraisers who are passionately committed to raising money for our life-changing work in the mental health and mental illness space. We have a diverse portfolio of income streams spanning Events, Community, Individual Giving, Legacies, In-Memoriam, Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants, and Partnerships.
Trusts & Grants have a strong track record at Rethink Mental Illness and a growing portfolio of supporters at Mental Health UK. The team is well-positioned to develop innovative funding propositions that support the future ambitions of both charities, working to achieve both in-year cornerstone grants and long-term, transformational funding. As a newly established programme, Philanthropy demonstrates exciting potential for both Rethink and MHUK, with initiatives spanning major donor and mid-value engagement. Corporate Partnerships have launched several exciting partnerships across both charities and that portfolio and team continues to grow.
How you will make a difference
Reporting to the Prospect Research Manager, you will identify and qualify new prospects across Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants, and Corporate Partnerships. You will carry out in-depth research using a wide range of sources, manage due diligence processes and ensure accurate data is maintained on our CRM systems. You will also work closely with the Interim Head of Trusts and Philanthropy to steward donors and deliver exceptional supporter experiences.
To be successful in this role, you will be an inquisitive, proactive and data-driven fundraiser who enjoys uncovering insights through research and crafting compelling communications that make a meaningful difference to donors.

You’ll start at the entry point salary of £44,339 per annum, increasing to £47,110 after 6 months service and satisfactory performance and to £49,881 after a further 6 months.

About this job
In this role, you'll oversee the delivery of our marketing strategy and insight-led approach to product development for our community and events fundraising team. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to reach, engage, and build meaningful long-term relationships with our supporters. You'll champion an insight-driven and engagement-first approach to marketing and product development, with our audiences at its core.
You'll innovate and test new marketing channels, products, and approaches. You'll stay up-to-date with the latest marketing and sector trends and identify opportunities to ensure we can proactively respond to an evolving external environment.
A key part of your role will be to lead our team of supporter-facing Fundraising Executives and ensure they provide consistent and exceptional supporter stewardship to our incredible fundraisers.
Our role is to deliver engaging, high quality and innovative fundraising to our amazing supporters and provide an attractive, inclusive programme of events and activities throughout the year.
Please note this is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months
