Main purpose of the role 
As our Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of our fundraising strategy, working closely with the Executive Director, the Finance Team, the Insight Fundraising Officer and the Trust and Foundations consultants. The Fundraising Manager will develop existing income streams and strengthen stakeholder and supporter engagement. As Fundraising Manager, you’ll work closely with other global team members to review and implement our fundraising strategy in line with our strategic goals. 

Main Responsibilities: 

1. Play a leading role in the development and delivery of ICC’s fundraising strategy and the success of direct marketing, telemarketing and online campaigns to generate cash, regular giving and Gift Aid. 
2. Plan, research and implement all aspects of direct marketing aimed at acquiring and retaining new and existing supporters. 
3. Establish a robust donor stewardship strategy, building strong relationships with existing  and potential donors and increasing donor retention and engagement 
4. Lead on the cultivation and stewardship of partnerships with churches. 
5. To manage the direction and relationship with our Trust and Foundation consultants by collaborating in the research, writing and submitting targeted Trust applications and report on grants awarded. 
6. Work with the team to support the legacy giving strategy, to maximise long-term income. 
7. To have oversight of the in-house CRM database (Microsoft D365). Work with the team to develop competency in the effective use of our CRM database as part of our donor stewardship and reporting structure. 
8. To assist and promote ICCs presence at fundraising and other events.
9. Manage the ongoing development and implementation of a regular giving strategy and donor care to reduce attrition rates. 
10. Regularly monitor and evaluate direct marketing campaigns, Trust fundraising, recurring giving and legacy fundraising, provide results and feed the learning back into the organisation. 
11. To keep abreast of key issues and best practices within the direct marketing/fundraising sector. 
12. Ensure fundraising practices comply with GDPR, the Data Protection Act and the Code of Fundraising Practice. 
13. Undertake additional duties as requested. 
14. Line manage the Insight Fundraising Officer and lead our Trusts and Foundations partner.

Fundraising Campaigns and Events 

1. Plan, coordinate, and manage our annual fundraising event. 
2. Support the Executive Director on other events. 
3. Project manage our newsletter and appeal campaigns.

The Commonweal Trust is continuing to develop an exciting project to help activists discover and use the peace and nonviolence resources which make up the Commonweal Collection, an independent specialist library housed securely at the J.B. Priestley Library, University of Bradford..

We are  recruiting for a Collection Development Worker to join our team who will work with the print Commonweal Collection and, through development of a digital strategy, increase the use and visibility of the Collection. This post also includes funding for a 60 hour discrete scoping project linking the resources on the Civil Resistance.info bibliography with the physical resources in the Collection. This role will work in collaboration with the Bradford Peace Museum at Saltaire and the J.B. Priestley Library, University of Bradford.

Collection Development Worker: Primary purpose of the role

To manage the Commonweal Collection, including responsibility for digital strategy, in order to provide access to resources for activist individuals and organisations, and increase nonviolent action within movements for positive social change.

Duties and responsibilitie:

The post-holder acts as the main point of contact for the Collection and is resonsible for ensuring it is is up-to-date and accessible. The intial focus of this fixed term contract is to build on work already undertaken with the print collection by scoping a digital strategy linking the Commonweal Collection to the CivilResistance.info website building on its role as a rich source of materials to inspire, support and informactivists seeking nonviolent transformative change.

• To  liaise closely with the J.B Priestley Library, including with its Special Collections archive.
• To undertake a discrete scoping project (60 hours) on integrating the work of the CivilResistance.info website and Commonweal Collection ahead of future funding and development.
• To manage, maintain and develop the physical Commonweal Collection and updating the online library management system.
• To develop and implement a digital strategy for Commonweal to ensure Commonweal resources reach national and international audiences.
• To work with the Outreach Worker to develop emotionally engaging resources on nonviolence that speak to a diversity of traditions, so that people learn practical ways to puruse change and maintain hope.

Finance and Operations Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR

Overseeing Operations at every level of the organisation, with line management responsibility for some of the team, Project and Workstream Coordinators (approximately 5 direct reports) plus some external consultants and contractors.

SALARY & HOURS OF WORK

Part Time – 4 days a week (30 hours)

LOCATION OF THE POST HOLDER 

The post holder will be predominantly remote working but will be required to attend the head office and drop-in in Manchester, drop-in spaces in Glasgow and London, and support staff members nationally. The post involves some travel throughout the UK and some work outside of office hours.  All equipment required for remote working will be provided and costs for travel will be covered.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a Finance and Operations Manager to support the CEO in the day-to-day running of our charity. The NUM CEO develops the overall vision of the organisation, while the Operations Manager is responsible to carry out the vision. 

To be successful in this role, you should have experience as a manager in a position of public trust, have excellent financial, organisational, and communications skills, as well as being a problem-solver with work experience in high-pressure work environments. The Finance and Operations Manager must be versatile in their understanding of the larger vision and as well as the fine details and tactics needed to achieve NUM's goals.

The successful candidate will work in an agile manner to ensure the charity continues to be proactive and innovative, while also being responsive to the changing landscape within the sector and the international sex worker rights and safety movement. As part of supporting the operations of NUM, the successful candidate will provide resources, information and support to NUM Managers and Coordinators across diverse projects, workstreams and teams, to achieve aspects of the organisation’s mandate of 'ending all forms of violence against sex workers' and eliminating the conditions that lead to poverty and survival sex work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

• At least 3 years' work experience as a Manager, Project or Programme Manager or similar role that requires oversight of a whole system, business, operation or organisation Experience leading remote or hybrid teams is desired. This includes time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, lead team meetings and support members to manage resources, timelines and project budgets, etc. 

• At least two years’ experience in grant writing and fund development, as well as in financial management, with a demonstrated ability to co-develop budgets, cashflow forecasts and financial reporting as well as oversee banking activities and work with accountants and Trustees to ensure NUM’s financial health.

• Knowledge of the charity sector, the day-to-day running of a charity, business or similar organisation, and familiarity with the work of National Ugly Mugs and other sex worker-serving and sex worker-led organisations.

• Excellent leadership and delegation skills and experience. 

• Ability to support and execute on elements of NUM's policies and strategic plan. 

• Experience and training in Safeguarding and the ability to integrate appropriate safeguarding into all aspects of NUM services.

• Exemplary critical thinking and problem-solving skills and experience.

• Excellent IT skills and familiarity with CRM systems, applications and digital platforms and services, particularly Google Workplace, QuickBooks, the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Slack, Trello, and other project management programs and tools.

• Experience in Human Resource Management and monitoring performance across diverse teams. 

• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to engage in knowledge translation within NUM and with external partners, funders and other stakeholders.

About the role

The UK government’s resettlement programmes (such as UKRS, ARAP as well as other UK Resettlement Schemes) support refugees who are selected and processed in the region of origin and brought to the UK with their status already determined. Under this scheme, a specific quota of refugees will be coming to the UK for resettlement. The Refugee Council has agreed to work in partnership with Migration Yorkshire and Local Authorities across Yorkshire and Humberside to deliver the regional programme.

The Refugee Council resettlement team provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them adjust to live in the UK, access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working with the Resettlement Team Manager and the rest of the team, the Community Development Worker will enable newly arrived refugees to take an active role in their successful resettlement through initiatives involving both the communities of new arrivals and the wider community.

Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies running similar services across the UK, the Refugee Council resettlement team in Yorkshire and Humberside promotes both the integration and independence of resettled refugees. By promoting successful resettlement through community development projects, helping newly arrived refugees fulfil their needs and aspirations for their new life in the UK and establishing strong links with the wider community. This post will work with refugees at different stages of the resettlement programme.

What you’ll do (high impact)

• Lead Quality Assurance visits and audits that spot opportunities and spark real improvement.
• Coach and prepare teams for inspections and contract checks. Be the calm, confident lead pre, during and post‑inspection.
• Own divisional Quality, Performance & Risk meetings. Turn data into clear actions and measurable results.
• Design and deliver high‑energy workshops and working groups that embed best practice and spread learning across the organisation.
• Run focused improvement projects end‑to‑end: plan, coordinate weekly actions, unblock barriers and deliver outcomes.
• Drive person‑centred initiatives that change everyday practice for the better.
• Support investigations, safeguarding and lessons‑learned work. Translate findings into training, guidance and system fixes.
• Build clear process maps, practical guidance and engaging training materials.
• Champion co‑production involving people we support in shaping improvements.

Who you are

• Experienced in regulated support (health, social care, supported living or similar) with strong knowledge of regulation, quality frameworks and safeguarding.
• A confident auditor/inspector who gets great results under pressure.
• A natural influencer and facilitator, skilled at running workshops, chairing meetings and winning buy‑in.
• Data‑driven and practical. You turn insight into simple, actionable plans.
• Project‑savvy: you manage multiple stakeholders and drive actions to completion.

We are recruiting a Suicide Prevention Officer to facilitate the development, sale and delivery of high quality and impactful training and education programmes, upskilling individuals and organisations in suicide prevention.

What you will do:

• Facilitate in-person and online training sessions, ensuring interactive and impactful learning experiences.
• Develop and promote PAPYRUS’s training offer, tailoring to stakeholder needs and securing sales.

Salary: £31,537 per annum (Scale SCP 18), progressing by increments to £34,434 per annum (Scale SCP 23)

Hours: 36 hours per week  

Location: Home-based, with regular travel across the Yorkshire and Humber area must live within the required area due to regular travel across the region.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 18 months

Role Summary

The Community Forest Trust (CFT) supports, enables and champions the work of England’s Community Forests, who are the leading woodland creation network in England. We provide a range of support services for the forests including finance functions, payroll and accountable body for funded projects.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Finance and Operations Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with the organisation’s financial policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in a finance role, competency with accounting software and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

You will also provide support to the CFT Managing Director and team, including diary management, booking travel and accommodation, supporting project delivery and arranging meetings and events. You will possess strong organisational skills, with a focus on providing exceptional assistance to ensure the smooth operation of our daily activities. This role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Work

• Check, process and record payments in accordance with agreed procedures, administer invoices and expenses claims received, ensuring they are forwarded for authorisation in a timely manner, correctly coded and posted on the finance system
• Prepare purchase invoices, add to the payment spreadsheet ready for weekly payment run processing
• Run the Weekly Credit Control cycle, ensuring invoices are raised and sent on time and monitoring aged debtors, chasing late payments as required
• Reconcile the credit cards and bank account and ensure the financial system is up to date
• Support the Finance manager in month end procedures
• Draft monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and finance reports
• Support the preparation of grant claims, ensuring that adequate records are kept
• Assist with year-end audits
• Assist with payroll processing
• Respond and deal with finance queries received internally and externally

Operations Support

• Provide support to the CFT Managing Director and team, including diary management, booking travel and accommodation, taking and drafting minutes
• Provide support for planning and arranging meetings including the CFT Board, Forest Network and with key stakeholders, including agreeing dates, organising venues and catering, distribution of agendas and supporting papers
• Support the Forest Network including arranging ‘all-hands’ briefings and the annual conference
• Ensure CFT’s contacts list is kept up to date
• Provide ad-hoc admin support for CFT projects and programmes
• Manage social media accounts ensuring relevant message sharing and posting to increase engagement
• Manage and respond to general enquiries including via the website, telephone and e-mail

Person Specification

Essential:

• English and Maths GCSE A-C or equivalent
• Proven experience in bookkeeping/similar finance role, including following policies and procedures, processing invoices, supporting the preparation of financial reports, financial reconciliation
• Good working knowledge of key accountancy software such as Quick Books or SAGE
• Administration experience, including providing support for colleagues, arranging meetings/events
• High level of numeracy and financial literacy, comfortable working with budgets and spreadsheets and be able to input data accurately
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Team worker, but also happy to work independently including self-managing remote working
• A ‘can-do’ attitude and uses their own initiative
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet tight deadlines
• Flexibility with the ability to adapt to the needs of the charity

Desirable:

• Qualification in finance or accounting e.g. AAT
• Experience of using social media in a work context
• Knowledge of social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook etc and skilled in using them

The organisation’s holiday entitlement is 25 days a year (full-time) plus public holidays. We also operate a flexi-time and TOIL system.

CFT has an auto-enrolment pension. Employer contribution to pension is up to 8% match of the employee contribution.

CFT employs around 50 staff based in the Forests but has a small core team of 4, which works remotely and there is no office base. We meet once a quarter in-person and this post will occasionally need to attend in-person meetings and events, including the annual conference.

There is a 6-month probation period.
