We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated professional who is passionate about amplifying the voices of young people through participation and co-production.

Voices in Action is a dynamic area of work within Coram that ensures the engagement of children and young people (as young campaigners).  Our Young Campaigners, aged 10-25,  bring their lived experiences of school exclusion, homelessness, immigration issues, involvement in the care system and involvement in the criminal justice system to improve outcomes for other young people.  They achieve this through campaigning and policy work, shining a light on problems and developing ideas to make things better nationally, locally and improving the work we do.

This post plays a crucial role in enabling this to happen. Using a co-production approach, this post will bring young people’s voices to the forefront through the production of campaigns and resources for other young people and professionals.

As our Growing Minds Family Coordinator, you will help promote and deliver the work of the Growing Minds project – a collaborative, place-based project to support children’s development, from birth to five. In this role you will work directly with families, in our project area – Littlemore, in Oxford. This may include contacting families to engage them with our offer of support, assessing families support needs, providing in home support, and supporting families to attend local groups and other activities.

As a Youth Intervention Practitioner working on our Youth Violence Intervention Programme in Birmingham, you will work across two hospital sites – Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) and Heartlands Hospital (HH). The role is primarily based at QE day to day and will visit and take referrals from the other sites on a regular basis. 

As a Youth Intervention Practitioner based in the A&E departments you will support young people who are experiencing trauma or tragedy and their families. You’ll be part of a team that is fully embedded in the hospital and that is highly valued by clinicians and community partners alike.

To do this well you need to be a people person; passionate about supporting young people, and excited at the prospect of working in a fast-paced and exceptionally busy environment. You’ll need a proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people and an understanding of the impact intense, short-term work can have.You must be a strong communicator: as comfortable building a relationship with a young person as you are liaising with our clinical colleagues. Experience working with young people experiencing exploitation, violence, mental health, substance misuse and other areas of need, is advantageous but full training will be provided. You’ll be keen to keep learning, seizing training opportunities at Redthread and continuously reflecting upon and improving your practice.

Job Description

Post Title: Youth Violence Intervention Practitioner 

Location: The post will work across all Birmingham service sites but be based primarily at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. All Redthread team members must have a flexible approach to supporting other sites when needed. There will be a need for regular visits to Redthread’s main offices in London and other projects and activities that take place at various locations across London and the UK.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. The nature of Redthread’s work means that regular evening and weekend work is required. You will be required to work shifts to ensure that the team covers from 7:30am to 9pm each day between them.

Salary: £26,302.50 per annum + benefits 

Contract type: 12-month fixed term, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

Young Adult Carers Service Coordinator

Carers’ Hub works to improve carers’ lives in Lambeth through quality services and community engagement. We are an independent local charity, who work with carers aged five upwards. Whether financial, educational or otherwise, they seek to limit the challenges that carers face and achieve this by improving carer’s wellbeing, connecting carers to support and training opportunities, awareness raising and influencing local policy. We are now recruiting for a Young Adult Carers Service Coordinator to join our team.

As the Young Adult Carers Service Coordinator you will: 

• Deliver an engaging, accessible range of workshops, social activities and one to one support for our young adult carers, working to targets and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.

• Support the wider young carers service by being a first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries. 

• Develop external relationships and communications in a way that promotes the welfare of carers in Lambeth and enhances the image of the organisation. 

• Work with the Carers' Hub team to support our wider organisational objectives and helping out with events, communications and other ad hoc work.

To be considered for this role you will have experience of working with vulnerable young people and managing complex cases as well as knowledge of safeguarding protocols including referring and escalation to Children’s Social Care. Candidates with a professional qualification in health and social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions are encouraged to apply. 

Please note, this is a part-time role, 21-hours per week, ideally spread across 3 days. You will be based on site at their Brixton office, with the option of home working 1 day per week, as well as outreach/in the community. You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS for Adults and children.

About the role

Medact’s Movement Organiser will work alongside our Campaign Leads and Head of Movement Building to grow our movement, developing groups of healthcare workers into confident campaigners who can make a visible difference in the struggle for health justice and peace. The successful candidate will spend approximately 80% of their time with one of our campaigners, and 20% participating in cross-organisational work. The ideal candidate will have an interest in, or experience of organising or campaigning around, issues related to economic justice or the climate crisis.

You might have organised in your workplace or local community to take action on issues that you care about. ActionSpace, the sector-leading charity working with learning disabled artists across London is seeking an exceptional individual to join the team as Pastoral Care Co-ordinator.

The Pastoral Care Co-ordinator ensures all artists and project participants are able to maximise the benefits of participating in ActionSpace activities and supports them in realising their personal potential by ensuring accessibility and co-ordinating support needs. 

The ideal candidate will have at least five years experience of working with learning disabled adults, particularly those with high support needs, and experience of developing and implementing access and behaviour support plans. The role of the Events team within Alpha International is to oversee the organising of Leadership Conference (LC) in-person, any events around Leadership Conference (including Donor events, Wednesday CEF event, Alpha Staff day, regional satellite events) and London-based Alpha events across the year (such as Alpha Collective and Experience Alpha).

The Responsibilities

Events Manager
o Line managing the assigned event coordinators, temporary staff or office volunteers.
o This will include annual appraisals and weekly 1-2-1’s
o Helping to recruit and line-manage casual workers
o Helping with day to day running and support of the team for the staff assigned to this role.
Logistical arrangements:
o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event.
o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers.
o Determining catering requirements and caterer management.
o Hiring of any additional venues as required and site logistics.
o Attending site visits (for external venues that might be used).
o Hiring of any additional equipment required for the event.
o Liaising with the Production, IT, Verger, Worship team and all other internal departments.
o Ensuring any legal and insurance tasks are thought about and in place for the event taking place.
o Creating floor plans for the vergers to use.
o Liaising on interpretation needs are met including BSL.
o Liaising regarding speakers and associated tasks including contracts, gifts and accommodation.
o Liaising and implementing programme decisions.
o Any other event related task.

Marketing and communications:
o Working closely with the marketing team on the marketing plan and budget.
o Steer and monitor social media campaigns, alongside internal creative services teams.
o Ensuring all GDPR protocols are followed – keeping the login access tracker up to date.

Staffing:
o Volunteer recruitment working closely with the Alpha leadership on this.
o Communication with HTB staff as to their specific roles and responsibilities & conducting staff briefings.
o Building working relationships with volunteers and team when onsite.

About the role

Working within our small, dynamic staff team, this role will primarily provide support to the Executive Director in the following areas: communicating the work of the foundation to key stakeholders; lead on and maintaining relationships with trade union groups; driving forward our community grants programme, demonstrating the policy, research and campaign impact of the foundation; general strategic and managerial deputisation.

The role would suit a communications or programmes specialist who is comfortable working flexibly across a number of briefs as befits a small and adaptable organisation. THE ROLE: Building Surveyor - Full-time (37 hours per week) / Permanent / Based on site, working Monday to Thursday, 9am - 5pm and Friday 9am - 4.30pm.

YMCA DownsLink Group is looking for a Building Surveyor to join the Asset Management team. This is a new role in our structure, playing a key part in delivering capital investment programme in line with the business plan – whilst working closely with other members of the team to ensure we maintain compliance and maintenance. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic individual to make this role their own.

As part of the Asset Management team restructure, we have identified a need for a Building Surveyor to assist the Head of Asset Management to deliver Capital Investment programme. By bringing these skills in house, it is hoped to create a more dynamic role with the benefit of ability to oversee upcoming works and provide additional resources to areas we need additional expertise such as dilapidations, disrepair, HHSRS and damp and mould.

You will be involved in the specification writing process (unless specialist consultancy is required) and lead the procurement to ensure we are OJEU compliant in our appointment of the appropriate contractor. You will lead on the delivery of capital investment programme, ensuring planned works are appropriately procured to ensure value for money and adequately experienced/qualified contractors deliver works. You will also undertake and maintain stock condition surveys, undertake building surveys to complete dilapidations, complex repair scoping of works (and specification writing – where appropriate), disrepair, damp and mould inspections (more complex cases) and provision of technical expertise in absence of Head of Asset Management. In addition, you will support colleagues across the business to empower them to confidently make low level decisions themselves.

The Assessment, Advocacy & Advice Lead will provide frontline services to people diagnosed with HIV in Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth as part of the Bridges partnership and South West London and Wandsworth HIV Support project. These services include assessment, emotional support and advice and advocacy for issues such as housing, welfare benefits, debt, dealing with HIV stigma or HIV treatment adherence. The Lead will facilitate signposting and referral into other support services including counselling, peer support and immigration services.

Programme

As part of Bridges programme, South West London HIV Partnership and Wandsworth HIV Support project, these services support new and previously diagnosed service users as well as family members/or carers who live in the same household. The programme will support people living with HIV and improve their health and well-being through the provision of services, delivered both face-to-face and virtually where appropriate.

As our IT Infrastructure Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and developing our hybrid infrastructure across multiple sites, ensuring an exceptional experience for colleagues, members, volunteers, and partners. You'll own the roadmap for the development of our on-premises and cloud capabilities, driving standardisation and security while negating technical debt.

Collaborating closely with the Head of Technology, you'll build the foundations of a technical architecture that facilitates growth, change, and adaptation in delivering Crisis' organisational strategy. With financial and supervisory responsibilities, you'll lead and develop a talented team, while also managing budgets and supporting procurement processes. Additionally, you'll design, implement, and manage organisation-wide cyber security infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus minimum standards. Your commitment to Crisis' purpose and values, coupled with your dedication to equality, diversity, and inclusion, will drive our mission to end homelessness forward. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in technical infrastructure and platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, EntraID, InTune, Defender, and the 365 Stack. Your proactive approach to horizon-scanning ensures you're always ahead of emerging solutions. With exceptional stakeholder management skills, you effortlessly influence at all levels, and will foster strong relationships across Crisis. Your commitment to team development and outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, make you a natural leader in driving high levels of user adoption and best practices for new services.
