As a Support worker with The Hope Foundation, your primary responsibility will be providing ongoing support to our tenants and service users, while working with them through support plans and growth plans, towards independent living.
The post-holder will:

Provide support to tenants in line with project aims and goals, including but not limited to providing mentoring, advice, support plans, employment training, property searches, admin support and assistance with tenancy sustainability.

Oversee project volunteers, manage rotas, and provide project updates to partners.

Work collaboratively with partner organisations to source additional support options, training opportunities, and tenant referrals.

Be a port of call for tenants regarding property maintenance queries and issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
(1) Client Support
• Working with tenants through their individual development plans.
• Provide encouragement, advice, and support to tenants.
• Assist tenants with housing benefit applications, job searches and training.
• Liaise with agencies on behalf of tenants.
• Assist tenants with tenancy maintenance and basic life skills support.
• Work with individuals seeking support through The Community Hope Project.
(2) Property Maintenance
• Organise maintenance work within The Hope Foundation properties.
• Provide tenants with assistance in operating equipment and information regarding Health and Safety.
• Report any property or furniture damage/issues.
(3) Administration
• Keep tenant development plans, pen portraits, logs, and personal information up to date.
• Provide general admin support to organisation

OVERVIEW
Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service (the Rising Sun) is an independent charity in Kent working to prevent domestic abuse and improve the lives of survivors and their children suffering from its effects. We have an ambitious vision for a world in which women and children live free from actual or threatened domestic abuse and all forms of violence.
Our team provide a range of services to adults and children who’ve experienced domestic abuse. We understand the impact of domestic abuse on survivors and so we listen to individual needs and respond in a trauma informed way. We provide one-to-one support and also deliver therapeutically informed group programmes to help survivors to recognise healthy/unhealthy behaviours in relationships and to understand the impact of domestic abuse. Bringing survivors together validates experiences and enables them to draw strength from one another.
We are looking for a creative and proactive individual who has experience of supporting survivors of domestic abuse. Working with survivors of domestic abuse as an outreach worker, you will play a crucial role in advocacy, risk assessment, safety planning and empowerment.
As part of our passionate and committed team of approximately 45 staff, our aspiration is that you will thrive and develop in this varied role. You will be contributing to the invaluable work of the Rising Sun and making a lasting difference to the lives of those who are impacted by domestic abuse.
JOB PURPOSE
- To provide practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention, risk assessment and safety planning.
- To develop individual support plans, which address the risk of harm and offer information, advocacy, advice and signposting to survivors, underpinned by individual risk and need.
- To empower survivors, thereby increasing self- esteem, reducing isolation and helping survivors to keep safe.
- To provide survivors with information relating to their rights and ensuring survivors are empowered to make decisions based on their options.
- To work in collaboration with the adult team and wider Rising Sun team to support other programmes delivered within the organisation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery
- Work as part of a team providing high quality support, advice, advocacy and information to survivors of domestic abuse.
- Manage a caseload in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and adhere to confidentiality.
- Work in a needs led way with a specific focus on a trauma informed approach, which recognises domestic abuse and its impact.
- Work holistically with survivors, recognising individual needs, and help survivors to recognise and build on their strengths and abilities to build self-esteem and resilience.
- Offer support face to face or remotely, via phone or video call, depending on the needs of the survivor and current guidance around social distancing.
- Attend regular supervision and appraisals with line-manager.
- Work effectively in partnership with other agencies and refer on appropriately, dependant on need and risk. This may include referral to specialist agencies, to other specialist DVA services or other external processes (for example MARAC).
- Assess risk to individuals on a regular basis using the DASH risk indicator checklist.
- Work with survivors to develop tailored support plans with a focus on reducing the risk of harm, increasing their personal safety (and that of any children) and responding to their individual needs.
- Support survivors to be able to identify and manage the risks to themselves and their children
- Provide information to survivors in relation to their options, including guidance in relation to their housing, legal and welfare rights and advocate on their behalf as required.
- Encourage service users’ participation in service development, continuous improvement and feedback exercised.
- Represent the Rising Sun at relevant community meetings and forums.
- Support Rising Sun’s community services including our One Stop Shop drop in service and group programmes.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records and ensure, reports and evaluations are completed as required.

- Contribute to wider team meetings and discussions to share learning and feed into organisational developments.

- An accredited VAWG/domestic abuse qualification, e.g. IDVA / DAPA (Desirable).

Invisible Palace is currently looking for a Youth Support Worker to join an established circus project that works with local a primary school and youth partners in the Bromley and Lewisham areas of London.

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in London across up to 3 schools along with remote working. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
Our schools undertake either our Gateway model, which includes mentoring and tutoring or our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Some Accelerate schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model.
Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include:
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
- Build and manage relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
- Manage students’ relationships with volunteers through monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls.
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
- Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
- University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver volunteer training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Training and Development

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in the West Midlands across up to 4 schools (maximum) along with working remotely; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website. Access to own transport or reliable transport would be ideal. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
Some of our schools undertake our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Other schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model. Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include:
Accelerate
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
- Support the Volunteering team with the management of volunteer coaches to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
- Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
- University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver volunteer training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

It provides accommodation for up to 30 male and female residents, many of whom have complex needs such as alcohol and substance use, mental health issues and a history of offending. Grange Road isn’t just about providing a roof, our goal is to support people throughout their recovery to maintain healthy and meaningful activities, relationships with others and good physical and mental health as part of their recovery journey.
In the role of Night Support Worker you will be responsible for appropriately dealing with any emergency situations that arise during your shift and writing handover notes for the daytime workers. You will also carry out administrative tasks, hourly building checks and monitor issues like noise in the locality and within the building. Our Sport Team has an exciting opportunity for you to join them, working in Camden and across London to engage those experiencing homelessness into physical activity and improving their quality of life.
About the role:
As a Sport Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering varied activity sessions for both adults and young people across different services, both internally and externally. You will work closely with the Sport Manager to effectively coordinate support from freelancers and volunteers. Your role will extend to broadening the accessibility of sports and exercise within SHP's services and among its residents, for both adults and the young people we support. Additionally, you'll play a key part in growing the programmes reach, forging partnerships with similar organisations and charities, while also advocating for the significance of physical activity within the homeless community.
The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients supporting them to engage in regular physical activity, and see an improvement in their overall health.
About you:
- Demonstrable knowledge of fitness and sporting activities, application and implementation
- Sports and coaching qualifications relevant tot he sector.
- Demonstrable knowledge of motivating and supporting vulnerable adults and young people into sport and exercise.
- Ability to develop and deliver structured group-based physical activity sessions with both adults and young people.
- Ability to advocate for the importance of physical activity within our services.
