Chefs in Schools is a young, ambitious charity that’s rapidly growing. Our mission is to improve kids' health, through improving school food & food education. Working in areas of high deprivation, we support and train schools and their kitchen teams to serve the best, freshest and tastiest food possible, alongside meaningful food education. We share our learning and resources freely, aiming to inspire and enable others to follow our lead.
We’re backed by some of the biggest names in food and have ambitious targets to ensure every child has access to incredible school food and food education, setting them up for life with the skills and knowledge to feed themselves well.
About you and the role
This role will take our charity’s mission to a wider audience at an exciting time of development and growth. For a small communications team, we punch above our weight - regularly hitting the headlines, getting featured on agenda-setting news shows, receiving pro-bono support from renowned agencies and we have high-profile ambassadors, such as Prue Leith, Henry Dimbley and Thomasina Miers in our corner.
We need someone who’s creative, strategic and has great media contacts, or the knowhow to forge them, who can ensure a steady stream of coverage that gets our work in front of key audiences. This is an exciting time. Change is coming to school food - the government has committed to updating the school food standards and you’ll be part of the effort to transform the food kids eat in school every day. You’ll enjoy problem solving, crafting ideas and media opportunities, from stunts to stories.

Work with the Head of Communications to develop and deliver content, media moments and campaigns that help raise awareness of our cause and achieve our wider strategic goals.

Skills & experience:

We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Head of Fundraising to lead and grow our voluntary income. Your focus will span the full range of fundraising activities, from statutory and trust funding to developing and increasing income across major donor giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, and individual giving.

This role will give you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker as well as a practical fundraiser. You will come with strong ideas and skills to implement them.

Living Wage Foundation

The Living Wage Foundation has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as an Operations and Data Officer. We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to help maintain, develop and continuously improve our data and systems. The role will be an integral part of the Living Wage Operations and Insight Team, providing technical support to ensure the integrity of our systems, and supporting with development projects.

We are looking for a special person to undertake an exciting new role within our passionate team of people dedicated to transforming the lives of animals in need.
You will be responsible for the successful expansion of our existing income streams in line with our fundraising strategy and nurturing successful, long-term relationships with our supporters, donors and key stakeholders.

The Role
As Community Fundraising Manager, you’ll support and inspire a vibrant network of community fundraisers and volunteer ambassadors. The Role
The key purpose of this role is to together with the EA to the Vicar provide day-to-day support for the running of the Vicar’s Office and in particular for the Vicar (Archie Coates) and the Senior Leader (Sam Coates). The role also provides light touch support and diary management for the HTB Group COO and the HTB Group Chief of Staff.

To support, help and advise the senior team in professional and personal matters by:
- Prioritising and actioning daily tasks, operating as a two-way channel of information and communication; action or delegate requests and tasks to the team/ organisation where appropriate, and then report back to the senior team. This may also involve acting as a liaison between the senior team and the wider organisation ensuring strong communication both ways.
- Organising and maintaining diaries.
- Acting and speaking on behalf of the senior team. This includes oversight of inboxes, letter correspondence and phone calls.
- Ensuring that the team have all they need, in advance, for talks, presentations, meetings, trips, etc and freeing them of all unnecessary administration, phone calls, interruptions, etc.
- Providing support to the vicarage for hospitality of meetings and events and other personal matters (including catering for occasional evening meetings e.g. PCC).

Major event support: An active role in certain aspects of events; and keeping the Vicar’s Office function and team, and the Coates’s operating while being offsite for Focus and other key events.

- Assistance in coordinating weddings and covering for funerals when the Weddings & Funerals Coordinator is away.

Gateway are uniquely the largest Sheltered Housing provider in Tower Hamlets and were the first registered provider of older persons shared ownership in the borough. They are seeking an organised, diligent Service Charge professional to support on the technical side of the Service Charge lifecycle and improve processes within the department. You will work closely with budget holders, enabling data-led decision-making and supporting donor and committee reporting. As a key member of a small, collaborative team, you will be hands-on managing a mix of transactional and more advanced duties, proactive in ensuring the key points in the yearly Service Charge cycle run smoothly.
Role Responsibilities:
- Undertake assigned processing, accounting, monitoring, control and review of service charge income and costs on a periodic basis.
- Review service charge income and costs monthly to ensure they have been charged to the correct scheme and fully investigate and resolve any principal variances and anomalies identified (e.g., miscoding’s, duplications).
- Prepare periodic reconciliations of service charge income and costs on a scheme/block level and with the preparation of annual service charge estimates and actuals processes for all tenures.
- Resolve service charge queries from internal and external customers.
- Complete assigned elements of strategic delivery projects across the organization, particularly relating to service charge specific projects.
- Ensure consistent apportionment and allocation of scheme costs in mixed tenure blocks and other complex schemes and regular monitoring, control and analysis of such costs.
- Implement and embed key service charge systems and processes as part of the organisation wide service charge improvement project.
Person Specification:
- Experience in service charge computation, accounting and analysis, including preparation of service charge budgets, estimates and actuals
- Robust understanding of residential service charge management, including current legislative requirements and sector best practice
