We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer
Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 pro rata
Location: Across Brent Community Hubs and Advance Headoffice

About the role:
The postholder will support the delivery of a specialist domestic abuse (DA) project in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) in the London borough of Brent. The role aims to raise awareness and promote best practice in responding to domestic abuse across CLCH staff, improving support for patients impacted by domestic abuse. This will involve delivering training, workshops, and guidance to health professionals, providing consultancy on embedding DA response pathways, and helping CLCH navigate referrals to local domestic abuse support agencies. The role combines professional training, advocacy, and systems change to strengthen the health sector’s response to domestic abuse. The postholder will work across the Brent borough, attending community hubs and co-locating to deliver services when needed.
The postholder may be approached by staff seeking advice or consultation regarding male victims of domestic abuse. While the role’s primary focus remains on supporting women, the postholder will be open to supporting male victims through appropriate signposting and referral guidance. They will also be willing to undertake relevant training (e.g. Respect toolkit) to ensure inclusive and informed responses. Training will be provided.
A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential
About You:
To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer you will need the below experience and skills:
A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.
Experience in designing, delivering, and promoting engaging training and learning sessions on domestic abuse, tailored to professionals and stakeholders across a variety of settings.
Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a
range of stakeholders as well as experience of working within in multi-agency environment.
Ability to provide consultancy and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on domestic abuse-related issues, offering informed advice and support.
Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written), with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse professionals and stakeholders.

Ways of Working:

What will I be doing?
This role will support the delivery of several activities within our portfolio of activities on climate change, the environment, and mental health. The four main areas of work that the Senior Officer will be responsible for include:

Leading work with national partners (50% of post)

Integration of people with lived experience (hereafter referred to as PWLE) across the portfolio (25% of post)

Developing our advocacy on the intersection of air pollution and mental health (15% of post)

Developing our advocacy on the intersection of biodiversity loss and mental health (10% of post)
National level work (50% of post)
A key component of the current project will be to support national partners in a subset of countries globally (approximately 6 countries) to advocate for action on climate change and mental health. The final set of countries is yet to be defined but will likely include one country per WHO region and one country from the Small Islands Developing States. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

The role
The special events coordinator will report to the special events manager.
We're seeking an experienced and enthusiastic special events coordinator to join the dynamic philanthropy team. You will play a pivotal role in planning, organising, and executing a diverse range of events, providing the best possible experience to some of the charity’s most committed donors through a mixture of bespoke events, engagement events, and as we steer towards starting to do income-generating events.
The special events coordinator will support the special events manager in creating and managing an exceptional events programme to underpin major donor fundraising, supporting portfolio managers to successfully engage prospects and donors. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives on coordination, is highly organised, and has a solid understanding of Board support, minute-taking and cross-team collaboration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the full cycle of Trustee and Committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda planning, and paper distribution
- Taking high-quality and accurate minutes and tracking actions to ensure follow-up
- Supporting governance and compliance processes, including maintaining the risk register and statutory records
- Contributing to the planning, monitoring, and reporting of strategic and project delivery across the organisation
- Supporting ad hoc projects and events, including staff conferences and trustee engagement activities
- Acting as a point of contact for trustee-related queries and supporting induction and development processes
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant experience supporting board and committee governance
- Proven ability to take and manage high-quality minutes and meeting outputs
- Experience working with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and trustees
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM tools (such as Salesforce)
- A collaborative, adaptable approach and a commitment to inclusive working practices

An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Food Foundation. This position will expand the capacity of Food Foundation Communications Team, delivering engaging, high-impact external communications. The focus will be on brand and design and managing the development of creative content to enhance our digital presence, visual storytelling and brand awareness.
The role requires a creative thinker with a strategic approach to content who will promote our key messaging across a range of platforms and mediums. The role will entail preparing and delivering innovative and compelling content in both written, visual and video production formats, which showcase the work of the Charity and its collaborators. Using platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and Flourish, this role will help tell the important stories which emanate from the work of the Food Foundation. This could include publicising events, communicating report findings and raising awareness and addressing interesting topics that are relevant to the work of the charity. The role will be responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of design deliverables such as marketing materials, briefing documents, social media assets and webpages.
This role will also play a part in putting together content strategies, posting across our social media channels and supporting with the running of the busy press office when needed. They will ensure there is a vibrant, creative and relevant tone across all platforms and mediums. Working closely with the Senior Communications Manager, this person will be responsible for providing creative direction and guidance for design projects, ensuring they align with brand guidelines and the charity’s goals.
