This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. It is specifically expected that the role will allow for flexible scheduling to accommodate other responsibilities, including caring.
The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups. As Health, Safety and Property Facilitator, you will support the Health, Safety and Property Manager in providing high quality and comprehensive health and safety support to the organisation.
You will support safety and compliance communication, advise team members on health and safety policies and processes, promote a culture of best practice, help to deliver health and safety objectives and facilitate compliance with relevant legislation and Cranstoun policies.
You will also be a strong role model of the Cranstoun values: ambitious, creative, compassionate, collaborative and respectful. You will have the ability to self-manage and work independently without close supervision.

Purpose of the role
One of the core elements of this work is the production of the Freedom of Thought Report. The Report examines every country in the world for its record on upholding the rights and equality for non-religious people. We consider issues of legal discrimination and outright persecution and violence. The Report is essential to our awareness-raising efforts of the persecution faced by the non-religious.
Humanists International is embarking on a 2-year programme of work in order to realize some long-term improvements to the Freedom of Thought Report. We are looking for an enthusiastic research coordinator to join our team and participate in all stages of the publication process.
As a research coordinator you will support the Casework & Campaigns Manager to administer, plan and produce the Freedom of Thought Report, providing evidenced-based research to shape and influence human rights policy as it pertains to the non-religious.
This is a predominantly home-based role, but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building, as required.

Key duties

Collaborating with the Casework & Campaigns Manager to research, plan, and deliver the Report’s production on an annual basis;

Who are we looking for?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Service Lead to manage and lead a team of Support Workers to deliver high quality, effective supported housing services and housing management services to a range of service user groups (including those on Bail, prison leavers and those going through the criminal justice system) that meet their needs, contractual requirements and organisational financial targets.
You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of support planning and safeguarding as well as experience of working with vulnerable adults with complex needs (such as substance misuse, physical health, mental health, seeking employment and housing support).
We are looking for a Manager who is able to prioritise tasks effectively; ensuring their team are supported, Service Users needs are prioritised and contractual KPI's are met.
You will need to be adaptable and highly organised to balance your time. You will champion relationship mapping in your region, including developing links with supporting agencies, promoting CAS2 at external forums and being part of multi-agency meetings.
You will have previous line management experience and the ability successfully lead and line manage a team. You will have excellent people skills, which will be inclusive of problem solving, and both written and verbal communication skills.
