Reporting & Market Insight:

Skills & Knowledge:

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

Overall job purpose
In recent years, CCT has experienced great success in applying to grant funders, including Trust and Foundations, Landfill Communities Fund, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
CCT’s 2025 -30 strategy focuses on delivering conservation projects across our estate and securing income from grant funders will be crucial. We will also work with local communities to address smaller conservation projects via the Community Initiative Framework.
The Grants Officer will research and identify relevant funding opportunities, build a healthy pipeline, and submit applications for project funding to meet fundraising targets during an exciting period of growth.
There will be requirement for occasional travel for project visits and team meetings.

Duties & Key Responsibilities
Development and implementation of fundraising strategies
Guided by WA-UK’s objectives and strategic priorities the postholder will:
· develop a fundraising strategy, set targets and take proactive steps to implement the strategy;
· consolidate, strengthen and build on donor and stakeholder engagement and maximize income generation through strategies developed in coordination with partners;

About the Role

Job summary:
You will work as a member of Corporate Partnerships team which sits within Philanthropy and Partnerships. You will work closely with the Corporate Partnership Manager (Account management).
You will manage a portfolio of corporate supporters, building excellent relationships with key contacts and cultivating them for additional support, providing first-class stewardship and maximising income-generating opportunities.
In addition to this, you will proactively support the development of new business opportunities, conducting prospect research and building relationships with corporate prospects.

Key Responsibilities
Philanthropy Leadership
- Leads strategy, planning and operation of the major gift, trusts & foundations and corporate giving channels.
- Develops annual business plans and budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) and Executive Team.

About the Role
This is a newly created leadership role responsible for developing and embedding the governance infrastructure and strategic partnerships that will position Charity Right as a credible and competitive organisation for institutional funding.
