ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role is essential to delivering the charities income targets for Trusts and Foundations and developing long term relationships. In addition, the post holder will support the Head of Income Generation with approaching, reporting, and maintaining Trust and Foundation relationships for major appeals.

he Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team and focus on delivering income targets from trusts and foundations. The role is responsible for growing LDCT’s trust and foundation income by increasing the amount and longevity of funding from current supporters, as well as building a portfolio of new trusts and foundations through research, maintaining a pipeline of prospects, updating the Funding Matrix and making successful applications. Building good relationships with new funders including regular reporting, as well as good stewardship of existing funders, is an important part of the role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Delivering on fundraising priorities and targets for trusts and foundations income, including our current and future major appeals.
2. Researching, identifying, and prioritising appropriate trusts and foundations to maintain and convert a pipeline of new, prospective trusts and foundations.
3. Working with colleagues across the organisation to help shape projects for funding and creating strong Cases for Support to ensure effective applications.
4. Writing and submitting high quality targeted funding applications.
5. Maintaining an effective stewardship programme for trusts and foundations including appropriate accurate records, ensuring the fundraising e-Tapestry database is kept up-todate and that fundraising income is processed efficiently with timely thank you letters and acknowledgements.
6. Managing relationships with existing and new funders to encourage maximum funding, multi-year funding awards and repeat funding.
7. Monitoring outcomes, updating the Funding Matrix and producing timely reports and information as required externally by funders and internally for Management reporting.
8. Promoting the support of funders through press releases and social media posts.
9. Adhering to standards of fundraising best practise as set out in the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practise and ensuring all activities comply with relevant Data Protection obligations and any other legislation

Contract - Permanent - following 6 months probation

About the role
You will enable the Fundraising and Partnerships team to achieve their income targets by leading the Prospect Research & Insight team to plan and deliver strong, long-term pipelines, to manage them effectively, and to maximise the value of data in our fundraising.

Implementing proactive prospect identification and management strategies that enable fundraising teams to succeed, you will lead a high-performing team who drive and influence how the department uses data, harness the potential of our CRM, and develop reporting to support good business decisions.

Championing prospect development and the value of data, you will play a key role in the leadership of the Fundraising Operations team, using your skillset to problem solve and identify opportunities, potential and blind spots with the data at hand. To this, you will also oversee the processing of fundraising income, and guide accurate forecasting for the department. You will have a unique bird's eye view to analyse prospect and financial data to inform strategy and further amplify our fundraising activity.

Keen to cater to a range of lifestyles, we can offer this position on a 28-35 hour basis and are open to discussing working patterns. We operate on a hybrid basis, with 40% office time, and the remaining flexible to work from home, if you wish. The role can be based from our London, Manchester or York museums.

The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, based at the foothills of Mount Kenya, works as a model and catalyst for the conservation of wildlife and its habitat. Purpose of the job:

This role is responsible for supporting the Director of Foundations, Organisations and Institutions to maximise income from foundations and organisations and institutions. The post-holder will develop a robust pipeline of funding through organisations based in the UK and internationally.

Skills and experiance required: 

● Minimum five (5) years of professional experience successfully delivering high value, multi-year funding from the UK and internationally

● Extensive experience of donor prospecting and pipeline management

● A strong background in foundation, organisation and institutional bid writing, application processes, reporting and stewarding with successful 5 and 6 figure outcomes

● Demonstrable experience of personally securing 5 and 6 figure sum gifts

● Experience of complex bid development and working with delivery teams on programme design and grant management

• Arrange meetings with individual donors at a variety of venues, including at our reserves, working closely with area and reserve colleagues to deliver an excellent experience for our supporters
• Be jointly responsible for the planning, writing, production and mailing of Philanthropy Matters, our publication aimed at philanthropic supporters.
• Build effective relationships both within the RSPB and external to it that will enhance its reputation and ultimately secure funding. This includes understanding donors’ wishes and aspirations and identifying links with approved priority projects with the aim of securing substantial gifts.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Intermediate levels of fundraising as demonstrated by work successes and recognised fundraising courses
• Experience in how to research and cultivate a prospect. And understanding of how to write a cultivation strategy
• Ability to write funding proposals and prepare briefing documents in advance of meetings and events
• Competent in the use of a CRM system (Salesforce), the Microsoft suite, other databases, research tools and methods
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members, and people and teams outside of our department
• Good judgement when working with donors and ability to recognise potentially sensitive areas between prospects and the RSPB to ensure reputational values are maintained
• Experience of having successfully managed and developed donor relationships leading to substantial support.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience or interest in the environmental sector

As the Trust and Grants Manager, you will be responsible for generating income from trusts and grants. Based within the Development Team you will look to identify funding opportunities to secure funds to ensure the Hospice successfully achieves its objectives and development plan. With experience of writing bid writing, trust applications and reporting you will have excellent attention to detail and effectively manage deadlines. Major Gifts Manager, International Fundraising

Position Objective:

To solicit major gifts (£5,000 and above) to support PETA’s international programmes and campaigns.

To build and advance relationships with PETA entities’ major donors and prospects.

Reports to:

Assistant Director, International Fundraising

Salary:

£38,000 - £43,000

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop a strategy for international for major gifts fundraising
• Manage and maintain a portfolio major gift donors and prospects, across PETA international entities
• Effectively steward donors and prospects
• Develop personal engagement plans for donors, using knowledge and insights to plan appropriate communications
• Solicit major financial contributions from targeted donors
• Manage a pipeline of prospects, creating engaging opportunities for donors to increase their giving to a higher level
• Acknowledge, thank and recognise donors appropriate to their level of support, and ensure restricted gifts are appropriately allocated
• Maintain accurate records on PETA entities’ databases with relevant information and research
• Work with the prospect researcher to obtain useful information, helping make appropriate asks
• Participate in budgeting process
• Monitor donors’ motivations and interests – keeping accurate and up to date records in the database
• Develop cultivation events within regional hotspots throughout PETA entities
• Work collaboratively with PETA staff across PETA entities
• Maintain a clear understanding of – and the ability to articulate – PETA's objectives as well as details of specific PETA programmes
• Maintain departmental information, files, and records related to legacy estates
• Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant departmental software (e.g. ROI, ResearchPoint, Raiser's Edge, etc) in order to improve communication with donors
• Assist with the preparation and proofreading of mailings and other communications, as needed
• Work with the wider major gifts team and VP of International Fundraising on all aspects of cultivation and stewardship
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Be aware of GDPR and its implementation in European territories
• Perform and manage any other projects or duties requested by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• Demonstrable experience of major giving fundraising
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
• Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional business communications
• Proven ability to interact with donors in a professional and personable manner
