Purpose of the Position 

This role is central to driving and expanding our fundraising efforts through the strategic cultivation and stewardship of trusts and foundation relationships. This position is instrumental in identifying and securing sustainable funding sources to support World Bicycle Relief’s mission, ensuring that more people are mobilised through the Power of Bicycles.

This role requires a strong partnership with the UK Managing Director, ensuring that fundraising strategies are robustly executed and aligned with organisational goals.

The ideal candidate will be eager to work with a small, but impactful UK team while collaborating with a dynamic international team of change champions, dedicated to transforming lives through The Power of Bicycle.

WBR UK is a registered charity and a subsidiary of World Bicycle Relief NFP (WBR NFP).  WBR NFP operates through WBR not for profit subsidiaries and through its social enterprise company, Buffalo Bicycles.  Together the WBR Group provides transport solutions to those who cannot afford them, with donations through WBR and sales of bicycles and spare parts through Buffalo Bicycle Limited.  Buffalo Bicycle Limited also offers users repair and maintenance services via a retail network of shops and local mechanics. WBR has distributed over 870,000 fit-for-purpose bicycles and trained over 3,350 community-based mechanics. Our impact is clear: girls with Buffalo Bicycles boost their school attendance by almost a third; health care workers see nearly twice as many patients each day and 80% of households using a Buffalo bicycle report higher incomes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative Strategy Execution: Works closely with the UK Managing Director, incorporating programmatic priorities for developing key funding partnerships, to align and execute the trusts and foundations fundraising strategy.
• Strategic Growth & Income Diversification: Supports the development of and executes a growth strategy to increase trust and foundation income, leveraging both existing and new opportunities, including institutional fundraising and government funding where relevant.
• Prospecting & Pipeline Development: Proactively identifies, researches, and cultivates new trust and foundation prospects to expand the current portfolio and drive significant new revenue growth in alignment with fundraising targets.
• Relationship Management & Stewardship: Establishes, nurtures, and manages strong relationships with trust and foundation donors, ensuring tailored engagement, timely reporting, and strategic alignment with donor priorities to maximize long-term support.
• Proposal & Fund Development: Leads the development and submission of compelling funding proposals to generate revenue, while ensuring collaboration with the global proposal development enablement function for high-value (£100k+) opportunities. Edits concepts, proposals, pitch decks and stewardships materials. 
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with WBR’s global Development & Marcomm and proposal development team to source insights, data, and programmatic information that strengthen proposals and enhance donor engagement, ensuring UK efforts align with international fundraising strategies.

Who We’re Looking For:
 
We are seeking a proactive and highly self-motivated Fundraising Manager to join our team at Police Care UK and make a critical contribution towards our combined annual fundraising target of approximately £1 million.
 
With knowledge of the funding landscape for first responders, police, mental health, or wellbeing causes, you will take direct responsibility for income from Trusts & Foundations, Major Donors, and legacy fundraising, alongside oversight of our challenge and community events.
 
With strong research and writing skills, you’ll identify new funding opportunities and produce compelling, high-quality applications. You’ll also bring excellent relationship-building abilities, managing key donor relationships with care and ensuring grant compliance to maximise impact and income.
 
If you have a strong track record in securing significant income from trusts, foundations, grant-making bodies and major donors, and a commitment to improving mental health outcomes for those who serve, we’d love to hear from you.
 
Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a trusts and foundations fundraising strategy to meet agreed income targets.
• Research and identify new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources.
• Write compelling, tailored funding proposals, applications, and reports.
• Work closely with finance and clinical teams to monitor and report on grant expenditure.
• Organise meetings, presentations, and site visits to engage and inspire funders.
• Provide timely updates, reports, and impact statements to funders.
• Build and maintain strong, personalised relationships with major donors through regular communication and engagement.
• Plan and deliver an effective legacy marketing strategy.
• Champion Police Care UK and the support it provides to our police, their families and the wider police service.

 
Experience:
 

• Proven experience in securing significant income from trusts, foundations, or grant-making bodies.
• Experience of raising substantial fundraising income and achieving performance targets.

Major Gifts Officer

These are ambitious times for the Charity as we have recently launched a new strategy that sees us growing our impact across the world exponentially. We now have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and self-motivated Major Gifts Officer with outstanding decision making and multi-tasking skills to join the dedicated Fundraising Department.

Position: 1935 Major Gifts Officer

Location: This role is nominally based in Sidmouth, Devon – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – and offers hybrid working (fully remote/home working and flexible working patterns considered)

Hours: full-time, 35 hours per week, 08.30-16.30, Monday-Friday (Please note that we are happy to consider applications on a part-time basis – 28 hours per week over 4 days)

About the Role

As Major Gifts Officer, you will support delivery of agreed activity within the Major Gifts Team, successfully cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of mid-value individuals and trusts and delivering a range of agreed projects. Working closely with the Major Gifts Managers, you will evolve and continuously improve supporter stewardship and cultivation activity in line with their capacity and propensity to donate. 

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of the Major Gifts Strategy, improving Major Gifts performance.

• Supporting the Major Gifts cultivation/stewardship programme to grow the number of supporters financially contributing mid value and major gifts.

• Managing, supporting and attending Major Gifts stewardship and cultivation meetings and events, including supplier liaison, supporter invite lists, follow ups and budgets.

The Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser will join a small but passionate fundraising team, working together to harness the power of adventure to create lasting change and transform communities for all. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for securing core and restricted grant income for the different areas of Bendrigg’s work to ensure that outdoor adventurous opportunities are accessible to all. For example, one day might involve submitting a grant application for specialist climbing equipment whilst another might involve meeting with a funder to discuss support for our volunteering programme.

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of Women for Refugee Women’s (WRW) individual giving fundraising strategy, including through a variety of income streams such as regular gifts, High Net Worth giving, corporate support, events, and legacies; to develop and deliver WRW’s support engagement journey in order to generate income from individual donors and to develop strong and long-lasting supporter relationships; to oversee and develop our stewardship retention programme; and to contribute to WRW’s overall fundraising strategy and income generation.

Role overview

 An exciting opportunity for a creative and highly motivated candidate with strong technical expertise to help increase Global Canopy's impact by making world-leading environmental and financial data more accessible to our key audiences in the finance sector, business, government and civil society. 

The role will focus on the ENCORE tool which helps governments, central banks, financial institutions and businesses assess their nature-related risks and impacts around the world. This is Global Canopy's all-encompassing tool: while Trase and Forest 500 focus mostly on agriculture and deforestation, ENCORE's ambition is to connect all types of economic activities to many more forms of nature depletion globally. It is developed in partnership with UNEP WCMC and UNEP FI.

The primary goal for this role will be the creation of the EU Nature Dependency Dashboard in a new website.

Requirements

To be successful in this role,  these are the things that will matter the most: 

• Excellent full stack web development skills
• Knowledge of python frameworks for the backend, such as FastAPI, Flask or Django
• Knowledge of javascript frameworks for the frontend (preferably React/Next.js), and common data visualisation libraries such as d3
• Experience querying PostgreSQL databases, potentially using SQLAlchemy as an ORM
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
• Knowledge of source control using git (GitHub or similar).

Essential behavioural competencies: 

• Self-starter, happy working in a small team with a large degree of independence
• A keen eye for quality, and an appreciation of the importance of automated testing

KEY INFORMATION

Location: Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham, or London

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Hybrid - minimum of 2 days per week in the office)

Salary: £29,150 per annum if based in London. £26,575 per annum if based in Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle or Bristol, plus a £312 yearly tax-free work from home allowance.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Student Administration Officer will work with the Associate facing Programmes team to support the successful delivery of the upReach programme, focused on the programme operations of onboarding new Associates.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You will contribute to upReach's mission by working with our programme team to facilitate the onboarding of new Associates.  You will be responsible for key processes and tasks on the Associate Tracking System, to enable upReach to deliver effectively and to meet objectives and key results (OKRs). These include:

• Associate Tracking System: steward applicants through the pipeline; confirm student eligibility; answering applicant and Programme Coordinator queries; track and report on pipeline progress; help Programme Coordinators with reporting on programme application progress;

• Ensuring our communications to applicants and prospective applicants are accurate and effective including email templates and call scripts;

• Assisting the student attraction team to deliver effective campaigns promoting our programmes;

• Assisting with other programme delivery activities as needed;

• Researching process improvement projects as needed.
