Job Title: Visitor Experience Manager

Hours of work: 21 hours per week.

Salary: £24,000

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (Pro Rota)

Contract: 12 month contract, to be reviewed on successful NLHF application

Role Description

Working with other staff and volunteers, you will oversee the visitor experience to ensure a consistently high standard, delivering a wide-ranging programme of activities that will also attract a new and diverse audience to the Cathedral whilst maximising visitor donations and income.

Key Responsibilities

• Commitment to the Cathedral’s values and inclusive culture and to demonstrate them through professional behaviour working with clergy, staff and volunteers
• Management and oversight of visitor experience ensuring all visitors have a positive experience, whether they come to the Cathedral as a sightseer, pilgrim, worshipper, or event attendee
• Ensure safe recruitment, induction, training and management of paid Welcome Assistants to offer a consistently high standard of welcome and increase donated income
• Liaise with all volunteer groups involved in the visitor experience, including Welcome Stewards, Chaplains, Tower Tour Guides, Tour Guides, LEGO model builders to ensure consistency of welcome
• Deliver an exciting programme of visitor events and activities that generates income and growth whilst supporting the Cathedral’s Mission, Values and Strategic Objectives
• Make connections between Cathedral attractions, the Cathedral shop and Pilgrims’ Kitchen restaurant, and support a culture of collaboration to develop and enhance the experience for visitors
• Support the work of the Volunteer Manager to ensure that volunteers are appropriately recruited, valued, trained (particularly in respect of safeguarding), communicated with, and acknowledged)
• Work with the Head Verger/Event Manager on key projects which impact the visitor experience and drive visitor footfall
• Work with the Head Verger/Event Manager to propose and develop new and innovative projects/exhibitions to appeal to the local, and repeat visit, audience
• Be proactive in key events/projects which have a direct visitor impact, in terms of planning, scheduling and onsite operations
• Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure a consistent visitor offer ensuring positive messaging and promotion and highlight good news and events
• To present the best possible image of the Cathedral in general and in all contact and communications with the public, visitors, suppliers and all other external organisations
• Ensure high quality effective signage is in place that promotes the activities of the Cathedral and supports the visitor experience
• Maintain high quality interpretation in a range of media to meet differing visitor needs
• · Act as the ‘accessibility and diversity champion’ to ensure the Cathedral buildings, facilities and services are accessible for visitors with mobility and other special needs, as well as being involved in projects to create a wider appeal, particularly more diverse audiences
• Be alert to opportunities to work with partners in the town and County to bring visitors to the Cathedral
• Produce and manage a relevant and realistic budget for Visitor Experience and ensure operation within that budget are constantly monitored, forecasting and reporting performance against budget in conjunction with the Chief Finance Officer
• Regularly review, analyse, and report on visitor statistics to identify next steps and future requirements
• Uphold and comply with the organisation’s policies and the law in relation to health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding, data protection and other adopted policies and procedures as required

Person Specification

 Essential Qualities

• Sensitive to the Cathedral’s core mission as a place of worship, outreach, welcome and care, which underpins its commercial activities
• Experience in leading people within a visitor-focused operation
• Background in heritage, tourism or hospitality
• Experience of line management, team working, networking and relationship building
• A proven track record of commercial acumen and taking measured risks
• Ability to manage the complexity of demands posed by both a religious, conservation and commercial environment
• Ability to consider and see different perspectives on issues between people across departments or organisations for mutual benefit
• Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders and gain commitment of others to act and achieve outcomes
• Excel at being able to operate flexibly and prioritise issues and opportunities as needed
• Ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages and at all levels
• An ability to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends

Desired Qualities

Probationary and notice period

In accordance with current Chapter Policy, the post is subject to a 12 week probationary period. After completion of the probationary period the notice period is one month.

Pension

After 12 weeks’ service, the post-holder with be auto-enrolled into a pension scheme with the Church Workers Pension Fund.

This is a new role within the Bereavement Support Service proactively engaging bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

The aim of this post is to provide consistent, high-quality emotional support via digital channels to bereaved families who seek support from the Lullaby Trust.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

· Assist with the setting up of new digital channels to be used by the Lullaby Trust to answer and respond to bereaved families.

· To be the primary contact for the bereavement support digital services including WhatsApp, text, webchat and other social media channels.

· Proactively engage with bereaved families through social media and other online platforms.

· Ensure any safeguarding concerns are actioned in accordance with the organisations Safeguarding policy.

· Send materials to bereaved contacts, including bereavement packs and follow up emails and ensure all documents and databases are updated with each contact in line with the department guidelines, including Raiser’s Edge, Excel databases.

· Cover and answer the bereavement support helpline and online enquiries responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.

· Ensure any messages on Bereavement Support Facebook Groups are monitored and advice is given via befrienders where appropriate.

· Attend face to face events for bereaved families including family days and memorial events when needed.

· Work with Income and Engagement Team around social media bereavement support content/posts.

2. Deliver and run live bereavement themed sessions on social media

· Run monthly live sessions on social media on bereavement topics/themes, responding to comments and messages during and after the sessions, ensuring anyone seeking ongoing support is responded to and referred to relevant services .

· Work with the Engagement Team to promote live session.

· Facilitate monthly remembrance sessions.

3. Ensure the bereavement support services are promoted to those bereaved and to professionals working with bereaved families

· Assist with the recruitment and facilitation of Bereaved Families’ Panel.

· Keep up to date with the bereavement support world including joining National Bereavement Alliance, Child Bereavement Network and research around grief and bereavement.

· Attend events as required to represent the Lullaby Trust’s bereavement support services.

4. Maintain accurate records throughout all services, complying with the organisation’s recording and reporting requirements

Maintain ongoing knowledge and training on the Lullaby Trust’s advice and the scientific knowledge behind this advice.

Collate statistics, as required on areas of work within the support services team.

Assist with the services’ evaluation and impact processes.

Provide other administrative support to the team as required.

Other:

Attend and participate with external supervision sessions, managerial supervision and team and organisational meetings.

Regional Youth and Community Director
OASIS UK – Youth and Community (OCP)

Permanent, full-time post, 40 hours per week, inclusive of breaks

At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for Youth and Community Directors to join our team supporting Oasis’ youth and community work in neighbourhoods in the following regions;

- London and South East (North, Central and South London and Kent - five local Oasis charities)

- North West (Greater Manchester – two local charities, and two regionwide youth violence contracts)

- North East (NE Lincs, Humber, Bradford and Sheffield – four local charities)

With accountability to the Oasis CEO for Youth and Community the role of the regional Youth and Community Director will have three main functions:

1 Strategic management oversight of local Youth and Community teams

2 Regional development, working alongside other functions within the Oasis family

3 Being part of the national Youth and Community leadership team

The Youth and Community Director will have strategic management oversight of local Youth and Community teams in the region, providing accountability and support to the local leaders and charity boards. This responsibility area falls into two categories; those the Director is directly responsible for, and those they are responsible for ensuring are carried out by those within their region.

JOB PURPOSE

The main purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive financial management for Bradford Hospitals Charity, ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial controls, and effective management of the Charity's financial position.

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the charity through its exciting transition to independence, establishing appropriate financial systems, controls, and procedures to ensure the charity can operate effectively as an independent organisation. This will include developing new financial governance structures and helping to shape the charity's financial strategy for the future.

The Finance Manager will lead on all aspects of the Charity's financial management, providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making by the Charity Director and Trustees. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant professional standards, Charity Commission requirements, and NHS guidelines.

The postholder will maintain a close working relationship with the Trust finance team to benefit from their expertise while ensuring the Charity's specific financial management needs are met during and after the transition to independence. The Finance Manager will be supported by the Deputy Director of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer, who will provide guidance on compliance with Charity Commission requirements, financial governance, and wider strategic financial management to ensure the role is well-connected within the broader financial structure.

Working collaboratively with fundraising and operational colleagues, the Finance Manager will help maximise the use of charitable funds to benefit patients and the Trust.

JOB DIMENSIONS

The post will have responsibility for the Charity's financial systems, including managing and monitoring all charitable income and expenditure, financial forecasting, producing monthly Financial and management accounts, annual accounts, and maintaining effective control systems.

A key aspect of this role is managing the Charity's portfolio of trust funds, which consists of various restricted, designated and unrestricted funds. The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all donations are correctly allocated to the appropriate funds, that expenditure from these funds complies with donors' wishes and charity law, and that fund balances are accurately tracked and reported.

The postholder will carry out their duties in line with departmental accounting policies, and with reference to Trust Standard Financial Instructions (SFIs) & Standing Orders (SOs), as well as charity-specific financial regulations and requirements.

The Finance Manager will provide expert financial advice to fund advisors, Charity staff, and the Charity Director, taking initiative to achieve agreed results and working independently on a day-to-day basis within clearly defined policies, protocols, procedures, and codes of conduct. While having significant autonomy in managing the charity's finances, the postholder will not work in isolation but as part of a supportive network that includes senior finance leadership within the Trust.

This role will involve leading a small team of delivery staff working to support young people in the South West, predominantly in Bristol but also some delivery in Plymouth and the wider South West. We are passionate about flexible working but it’s worth being aware that this role will be based in Bristol (working from our Bristol Centre) and you will be required to travel across the patch to support your team. 

As part of the Leadership Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our Healthcare programmes, in line with contractual requirements. You will lead the Health and Social Care team to develop and implement our delivery plan and ensure we meet targets, ensuring that every young person engaged progresses with an appropriate pathway of learning and development and one to one support. You will be a role model for your team, demonstrating best practice in how we work with young people in a safe way to ensure we deliver maximum value for young people and partners.

A background in employment-based programmes and/or knowledge of the Healthcare sector would be great as well as the ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships and inspire colleagues.

About the team

This role will be part of a small Project Management Unit (PMU) located within the Programme Operations Team. This team enables the effective management of the International Programmes Department (IPD) through ensuring IPD Teams have access to robust high quality management policies, systems, process, tools and capabilities that work to support the delivery of programmes, enable the effective management of risk, and ensure strong financial planning and management.  The role will report in to the Project Delivery Lead, within the Programme Design & Management Team which is a sub-team that facilitates clear programme direction with standardised results frameworks, monitoring, reporting and financial reporting systems, responsible for donor contract management and reporting.

About the role

The Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of monitoring, reporting, and learning processes for WaterAid’s Multi-country Urban Water Project. This is a bold initiative aiming to raise $40 million and reach two million people with clean water in urban areas across six anchor countries: Colombia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, Bangladesh, and Cambodia. The campaign also seeks to build a global movement of youth advocates to demand action from world leaders to achieve SDG 6 relating to universal access to water and sanitation.

This role ensures accurate, timely data collection and learning, promotes adaptive management, and supports evidence-based decision-making.  Working closely with country teams and partners, the Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will strengthen monitoring and learning capacity, support the articulation and measurement of project impact, and help consolidate insights to inform both internal learning and sector-wide knowledge on urban water programming. This includes tracking progress towards the ambitious goal of reaching two million people.

The role will also support donor reporting, liaise with Member offices, and deputise for the Project Delivery Lead when required.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the development and implementation of the project monitoring and learning framework
• Support countries with timely and accurate data collections, analysis, learning and reporting
• Provide assurance on data quality and integrity
• Produce consolidated monitoring and learning reports, highlighting progress, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for adaptive management.
• Support with donor reporting and communications.
• Facilitate and support cross-country learning and knowledge sharing and work with technical teams to translate learning and into practical delivery changes.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Degree level qualifications or experience or commensurate experience in relevant fields
• Strong demonstrable experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning in international development, preferably in WASH, urban development, or public health.
• Proven experience developing and managing MEL systems and processes for complex, multi-country or large-scale projects.
• Significant familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative MEL methods, participatory approaches, and adaptive management.
• Strong analytical and data management skills, including use of software for data analysis and visualisation
• Excellent facilitation, capacity building, and coaching skills to support country teams and partners.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Experience working with urban WASH programmes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
• Experience in participatory MEL approaches and adaptive programme management.
• Experience designing surveys using mWater software, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion, and social accountability in MEL processes.
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or other relevant languages is an advantage.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing practical and emotional support to individuals living with and affected by HIV, and LGBTQ+ people living across the Liverpool City Region. This includes ensuring they have access to essential services, resources, and community networks. The post will involve some travel across the Liverpool City Region (excluding Wirral).

We seek someone with experience working with diverse communities. Knowledge and understanding of the common experiences and need of people living with HIV, and the LGBTQ+ community is desirable.

Special Events Coordinator (Fundraising)

Salary £31,000 - £33,000 per annum - subject to skills and experience

The role

The special events coordinator will report to the special events manager.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced and proactive special events coordinator to join our dynamic philanthropy & campaign team at the Royal Free Charity. This is a role for someone with proven experience of delivering high-quality events end to end - someone who thrives on the detail, keeps things running like clockwork and brings creativity and poise under pressure.

You will be instrumental in delivering bespoke, high-value experiences such as private dinners, small group tours, donor visits and our flagship annual event, The Marsden Lecture. These are carefully curated opportunities to inspire generosity and deepen relationships with key supporters. You will work closely with internal teams and senior stakeholders, so diplomacy, adaptability and strong interpersonal skills are essential. Principal responsibilities

Event planning and coordination

· Develop event concepts and themes, create detailed event plans and coordinate all logistical aspects of events of events falling within the remit of this role.

· Work closely with the philanthropy and campaign team to design and implement special events that maximise fundraising potential.

Stewardship events

· Plan and manage events to acknowledge and appreciate donors, facilitating their continued support and engagement with the charity.

Engagement activities

· Organise and execute events that foster engagement and increase awareness of the charity's mission and goals.  

Supporting the new cancer campaign

· Prepare for campaign events in support of a £50m campaign for a ground-breaking cancer centre on the Royal Free Hospital site.

Vendor management

· Whether on-site at one of our hospitals or at an external venue, take responsibility for sourcing, negotiating and managing relationships with vendors, including caterers, suppliers and on-site partners.

Budget management

· Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.  

Communications and promotion

· Collaborate with the communications team to develop promotional materials and strategies to maximise event attendance and engagement.  

RSVP management

· Managing the RSVP mailbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to event invitations and queries.

Database management

· Maintain and update event-related databases, ensuring accurate records of participants, donors and sponsors.  

Relationship management

· Act as the main point of contact for colleagues, donors and contractors, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the event planning and delivery process.

Portfolio manager support

· Assist portfolio managers in engaging with prospects and donors effectively, providing event-related insights and facilitating meaningful connections.  

On-site coordination

· Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all elements are in place and events run smoothly.  

Post-event evaluation

· Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.  

Oversight and responsibility

· Manage risk assessment, risk management and first aid training to ensure the safety and well-being of all event participants.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

· No specific qualifications are required, but a good level of numeracy and literacy is essential.

Experience

Essential 

· Significant events delivery experience, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.

· Proven track record in developing and managing events on time and ensuring they are in line with budget (managed             by the special events manager), achieving key performance indicators and receiving positive feedback from                 guests.

· Evidence of outstanding planning skills to deliver complex projects.

Desirable 

· Experience of leading on the creation and implementation of innovative events that are tailored towards a specific        audience’s interests.

Skills and knowledge

Essential 

· A keen interest in the fundraising sector, with a desire to learn and grow in the role.

· An excellent eye for detail.

The team

Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5m through donations in 2023/24, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.

We pride ourselves on being a supporter focused and agile function, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.

Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:

·Our philanthropy & campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on our forthcoming cancer campaign, the charity’s first patron programme, and special events to support these activities.

·Our public fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges.

·Our database and supporter care colleagues underpin and support the entire department.

About the role

Based in Stanley, Falkland Islands, you’ll oversee our visit permitting system, lead on visitor site strategy and briefings, embed our new Entry Control System, and shape the future of tourism policy. • Managing visit permit assessments across multiple visitor types

• Acting as the main liaison with tour operators, the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO), and partner organisations
