We undertake advice & support, research, movement building, communications and resourcing work to support, mobilise and advocate for the development of models of managing land that create shared social, economic and environmental benefits. Our research work supports collective learning related to working on and with the land. We communicate our findings through articles, blogs, podcasts, reports, events, and more - building a shared evidence base to support the development of a just land system. Through our research, we seek to make an impact at a local and a systemic level. We want to create conditions that allow people and communities to thrive, and promote care for the land and environment. We do this work on both a commercial and grant funded basis.
The role holder will lead the full range of Shared Assets’ research projects, from scoping and design through to delivery, follow up and evaluation. They will need to have experience of designing and carrying out research and learning activities with a wide range of partners - including academics, community groups, NGOS and local authorities - in collaborative ways. In the past we have worked on research projects of many scales - from large European Union funded consortia, to smaller, one-off pieces which help a local authority or community organisation move forward with their work. Often our research work involves collaborating with a group of other civil society organisations to provide evidence of why change in the land, food and farming system is needed, and generate action on these issues.
The main areas of work are to: manage and deliver funded research projects (or projects with a research component) with partners, reflect with colleagues on what we are learning within and across workstreams as an organisation and sector, use this knowledge to create new ideas for research work, and support fundraising for these, as part of our ‘infrastructure’ role.

About You
As the Philanthropy Manager, you will be a confident and persuasive communicator, comfortable engaging with supporters and stakeholders at all levels. You will have a solid knowledge of philanthropic giving and a deep appreciation of the value of high-quality donor stewardship. Highly organised and detail-focused, you will enjoy working with data and be skilled at producing compelling content both on and offline. You will bring initiative, creativity and the ability to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
You will lead on managing and growing Art UK’s philanthropic giving programme, which includes the Patrons and supporter events programme and our major donor activity. You will be part of a small, committed Development team that raises funds across a broad range of income streams: trusts and foundations, public funding, corporates, high-net-worth individuals, online giving, and patron schemes. You will report to the Head of Development, work closely with the CEO and Chair of the Philanthropy Board, and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a pipeline of new philanthropic giving opportunities by researching, identifying and cultivating philanthropic supporters (£1k+) with the potential to give major gifts and multi-year support
- Create and implement donor development plans, working with the Head of Development and colleagues to guide our approach to new philanthropic support
- Develop bespoke cultivation and solicitation strategies, producing creative and compelling proposals to secure substantial philanthropic gifts
- Work closely with the Marketing team and other colleagues to showcase Art UK’s work and enhance donor engagement
- Create bespoke and compelling written proposals and support senior leadership and board members in the preparation and delivery of high-quality donor pitches to secure new philanthropic partnerships
- Provide exceptional stewardship for new and existing supporters, ensuring they feel valued and can clearly see the impact of their contribution
- Plan and deliver the fundraising and stewardship events programme (with support from the wider team), including attending events where appropriate
- Monitor progress against targets and maintain accurate reporting, including updates to Art UK’s Board of Trustees and the Philanthropy Board
- Ensure pledges and donations are processed efficiently and that donors are thanked promptly and personally
- Work closely with all members of the Development team to ensure prospecting and cultivation activity is aligned and complementary
- Ensure all philanthropic fundraising activity is conducted in line with legal, regulatory and ethical best practice e.g. GDPR and the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice

Scripture Union has a vision to see a new generation of children and young people have a vibrant, personal faith in Jesus and the Support Worker will play a vital role in supporting this ministry in Wales by providing communications, organisational and administrative service to the team.
About the role
We’re looking for a support worker who will:

Support the Wales Mission Team in their ongoing mission to pioneer and create opportunities for children and young people, who are found in the 95% of those outside the church, to explore the Bible, respond to Jesus, grow in faith, and become sharers of the good news of Jesus for themselves. Our priority is to reach those who don’t yet know Jesus by helping them to connect, explore, respond, and grow.

Work with the National Mission Co-ordinator (Wales) and the team in the National Office to develop a wider provision for mission resources, communication and marketing materials in the Welsh language.
This is a permanent role at 0.5 FTE with a salary of £11,970.
What You'll Do
-
Administrative Support: provide administrative support to the Wales team with regard to arranging meetings, note taking, event bookings, internal communication and database support.

Communication: communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences in Wales in a variety of ways including newsletters, social media, updates to the website, supporter communications, handling enquiries from church volunteers/workers.

Welsh Language: support with translation and proof-reading to expand the provision of Welsh language mission resources and communication with supporters.

In order to best support the Wales Mission Team, the person appointed will:

Be able to communicate effectively in the Welsh language, both written and spoken.

Have strong administration and IT skills.

Be self-disciplined, able to organise and prioritise their own workload, and manage multiple projects.

Have the ability to manage time effectively to meet objectives and deadlines.

Work as an effective team player within a geographically dispersed team.

Have a total commitment to God and is a Christian disciple.

Be able to help ensure that SU is aware of Welsh government policies as they affect the work of SU in Wales.
As with all members of staff here at SU, the appointed person will:

Be a committed Christian in sympathy with the aims and ethos of Scripture Union who has an active involvement in the mission of a local church.

Seek to have a sound biblical understanding that is applied in daily living and encouraged in the lives of others.
