Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to provide high-quality financial support to the charity, ensuring strong financial planning and decision-making.

What does this role do?

As Senior Finance Business Partner, you will:

  • complete end-to-end monthly finance processes for key business areas, such as management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting, working closely with senior stakeholders to understand their finances and support decision making,
  • be fully engaged in the business planning process from a finance perspective, signing off business cases and Project Initiation Documents to ensure robust financial understanding of activity and projects,
  • work closely with the Finance Business Partner Manager on high level business planning, ensuring full understanding of business activity at this level and the financial implications, and deputising where necessary,
  • line manage the Assistant Finance Business Partner, through regular 1-1’s, coaching and mentoring, ensuring they are performing to a high standard while encouraging their professional development.

Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 19th October 2026 and will take place at our London office.

Could this be you?

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a professional accounting qualification and significant accounting experience, specifically with experience of business partnering business areas with management accounts, forecasts, budgeting, and advice. You’ll be a strong communicator, who is able to share complex financial information with non-financial colleagues in an accessible way. Line management experience is desirable, but we’d be keen to hear from candidates who have experience of mentoring, coaching or supervising. A passion for the work we do is essential.

What does this team do?

The Finance team provides professional business advice and support across the group, working in partnership with all departments to enable the delivery of Dogs Trust’s financial strategy.
