Southover Partnership is an independent special needs school located across three sites in the London. We cater to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. All our students have education, health, and care plans (EHCP) and come from a variety of local authorities. We are looking for a HR officer to join our team, the role is a hybrid working model, term time position (with an additional week at the start and the end of the academic year. This a hybrid role where you work, 2 days a week at home and 3 days a week in the office.
Job Description:
- Assist the HR department in day-to-day operations, including payroll and recruitment
- Provide clerical and administrative support
- Manage recruitment and onboarding processes for new employees
- Prepare employee personnel files
- Handle disciplinary, grievances, performance management, and absence management matters
- Plan and deliver training sessions, including new employee inductions
- Support the Business manager in developing new policies and procedures

Rethink Mental Illness is seeking a part-time Head of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, to deliver strong collaborative operational leadership to the evolving VCFSE alliance programme in the London borough of Tower Hamlets.
Background
In 2019 NHS England set out a bold and radical redesign of community mental health services through the publication of the community mental health framework for adults and older adults. In response, Rethink Mental Illness published Communities that Care: a blueprint for supporting people severely affected by mental illness in their communities.
We believe that to really transform previously broken and fragmented systems of mental health support, communities and organisations must come together in the spirit of collaboration.
This cannot be delivered by any one organisation on their own. Supporting local systems to work more effectively together through partnerships and alliances is a key component of our five-year strategy.
The work of our Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Division is critical in achieving this objective. The division includes the local teams providing alliance leadership, participation, delivery and infrastructure support. We bring together expertise from across the charity - on co-production, community engagement, alliance building, infrastructure and corporate resources.
This specialist support interfaces with place-based partnership and alliance teams who are working with local VCFSE groups, charities, community organisations, citizens, NHS and social care, in places around England to transform community mental health services and build communities that care around people affected by mental illness.
Tower Hamlets VCFSE Alliance - the journey so far…..
For the past three years the development of a mental health VCFSE alliance in Tower Hamlets has been enabled by a grant Rethink Mental Illness received from the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
This grant enabled Rethink to focus on supporting alliance development in four places in England, including Tower Hamlets. The Alliance has now secured funding from East London NHS Foundation Trust to further develop the alliance structure and infrastructure, to enable the alliance to thrive and to move into the next phase of development and delivery, with a focus on:

- Addressing inequalities
- Workforce sustainability
About the role:
As Head of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances you will work with leaders across the partner organisations of the Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance to enable the realisation of the Alliance’s objectives across all these areas.
You will provide a facilitation and coordination function to the alliance, including elements of quality assurance & compliance, commissioner interface and relationships, reporting and due diligence. You will maintain and develop purposeful and managed partner relationships across all existing Alliance members and nurture growth and inclusion of other VCSE organisations across Tower Hamlets.

About you:
You will have a strong experience and background in contract management, project mobilisation across complex workstreams and compliance. With proven experience in managing and maintaining strong working partner relationships in a complex and nuanced VCFSE environment is essential, including:
- Understanding of the ambitions of the NHS community mental health frameworw
- Knowledge and understanding of Tower Hamlets Mental Health sector and VCFSE sector
- A commitment to listen and to build relationships across difference
- A strong understanding and commitment to anti-racism and exploring anti-racism practice
- Ability to lead and manage teams

- Ability to deal with stressful situations in a calm manner
- Strong systems and process-based approach to drive quality assurance and performance measures

Working arrangements:
This is a part-time role for 23 hours per week (worked between 09:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday). The post holder will work flexibly as required by the needs of the alliance projects.
The base salary is £45,284 (pro rata) – actual salary for 23 hours is £29,758.06 per annum.
For post holders living or based in Greater London, £3,000 (pro rata) per annum London Allowance applies. Actual amount for 23 hours per week is £1,971.43 per annum.
The role is home-based with access to our Head office hub in Vauxhall for the purpose of internal meetings, collaboration, or occasional hot desking.
The post holder will frequently attend meetings within the borough of Tower Hamlets.

About the team:
Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.
With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:

creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, provide leadership of the charity (which is also a company limited by guarantee) by directing and structuring the work of the wider staff and volunteer team. Principal Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Overall Management
· Together with the Trustees/Directors, develop and agree the strategic plan, operational plan, vision, mission and values.
· Lead the organisation and ensure it meets its legal and social obligations and the challenges of financial sustainability.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, including the Charity Commission, Companies House, and Health and Safety Executive, as well as with quality standards and with contract/grant monitoring requirements.
· Identify and implement new business opportunities in line with the charitable aims outlined in the Articles of Association.
Governance
· Work with the Board to ensure effective governance is provided through Trustees/Directors with an understanding of DWC’s purpose and a mixture of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
· Ensure the Trustees have sufficient resources, guidance and professional advice.
· Ensure the preparation of meeting agendas, supporting papers and minutes, and that agreed actions are progressed.
· Oversee arrangements for the Annual General Meeting, including the production of the annual trustees report and accounts.
Staff and Volunteer Management
· Manage, motivate and lead the staff and volunteer team.
· Line manage service managers/lead personnel, ensuring they are well supported and that agreed objectives are achieved.
· Act as the primary contact in respect of HR matters, managing recruitment and exit arrangements, and liaise with employment law and payroll providers as necessary to ensure DWC fulfils its statutory responsibilities as an employer.
· As a disabled people’s organisation provide opportunities for disabled people to contribute at all levels within the Board and workforce, through volunteering, training and employment.
Finance
· Manage and monitor the overall budget, income and expenditure.
· Authorise expenditure in accordance with the Financial Management policy and delegated powers.
· Ensure services are delivered within available resources, including sufficient income.
· Take a lead role in maximising income, through researching, initiating and developing the preparation of appropriate funding bids and fundraising activities.
Representation and Stakeholder Management
· Represent DWC and the interests of disabled people within local and national networks and forums.
· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including commissioners and staff within partner organisations.

IHP is recruiting a Logistics Officer to become part of our growing logistics team who coordinate the safe and responsible donation of medical products to where the needs are greatest, so that people don’t suffer needlessly from treatable illnesses.
As a Logistics Officer you will play an integral role in IHP’s work arranging the shipping of donated medicines and medical supplies, for example our essential health packs and antibiotics, ensuring their secure transportation to diaster hit and vulnerable communities such as Sudan and Gaza.
Your responsibilites will include:
- Securing cost effective shipping quotes from some of the largest freightforwarders in the UK
- Preparing shipping documentation
- Ensuring shipping files are accurate and kept up to date
- Communicating regularly with our donor companies and receiving NGO partners
- Updating offers on our management system
Who you are:
- You'll have administrative/record keeping experience or demonstable transferable skills
- A dedicated team player who enjoys working well in a small team as well as autonomously
- Adaptable and can meet competing priorities, deadlines and tagets
- Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy and be numerically minded (Intermediate Excel skills desirable)
- IT literate in MS Office applications with experience of working with data and systems

About the Role
The CEO will provide leadership to Embracing Age and to be responsible for the management and administration of the charity, in partnership with and reporting to the trustees. You'll lead, inspire and motivate staff and volunteers, whilst upholding and developing the Christian ethos, vision, mission and values of Embracing Age, along with the strategic objectives and priorities.

Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) is a charity that builds thriving communities through effective philanthropy, matching investment to the needs of small charitable groups. We fund around 200 grassroots organisations each year, giving around £2m annually to tackle priority issues. These organisations offer excellent value for money, but often go under the radar of funders because they are too small to afford comms and fundraising.
In November 2023 we published the second edition of Oxfordshire Uncovered, our flagship report that sets out priority need areas for Oxfordshire over the coming years. Our county’s wealth, success and beauty hide a number of serious and shocking social problems, including poverty, poor education and health, crime, and homelessness. The pandemic and the current huge increases in the cost of living have made these issues worse, while the climate crisis is becoming ever more urgent.

The role
The Financial Accountant will report to the CEO and be part of our small management team. They will oversee our finances as we seek to scale up our grant-making while maintaining our high-quality assurance processes. They will also be responsible for providing scrutiny and a strategic eye to the management of our endowment. A small but important element of the role will be oversight of OCF’s cybersecurity. The successful candidate will combine a rigorous eye for technical detail with long-term thinking and a passion for our mission.
Accountable to: CEO
Key relationships: Treasurer, Chair of Finance Committee, Chair of Trustees, staff team and trustees and OCF fundholders.
Salary: £55,000 (full time equivalent) subject to negotiation for the right candidate.
Hours: 0.6 FTE (21 hours a week, which can be spread flexibly across the week)
Type of contract: Permanent.
Other benefits: 3% pension (increasing to 5% after five years). 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays (FTE); additional paid leave for Christmas week office closure; 5 paid volunteering days (FTE).

Responsibilities
· Accountable for producing the Annual Report and Financial Statements in accordance with the Charity SORP, and being primary contact for the auditors.
· Preparation of annual budget and forecast, quarterly financial reports and monthly management accounts and updated forecasts.
· Maintain the detailed records of the endowment and restricted funds on a monthly basis. Oversee accurate statements for fundholders and provide ad hoc reports and analysis as required.
· Responsible for maintaining strong financial systems to provide accurate financial records and control systems for OCF, working closely with the Development and Grants teams to ensure complete alignment between internal systems (eg SAGE and Salesforce).
· Responsible for ensuring the Finance Committee is effectively supported, including: agenda and minutes, the production of timely reports, following up on actions and ensuring compliance with Charity Commission, HMRC Gift Aid and other reporting requirements.
· Liaise with OCF’s Investment Fund Managers (currently CCLA and Brompton Asset Management) and work with the Finance Committee to ensure performance is maximised.
· Monitor cash balances and ensure OCF is getting value for money on its cash.
· Management and development of a Finance Officer
· Oversight of effective delivery of all financial transactions, bank accounts, cash flow, bank reconciliations and staff payroll; includes oversight of checking the accounts for potential grant recipients.
· Bring to the early attention of the CEO and Chair of Finance Committee any matters of concern and risk in relation to the finances of OCF, and provide financial advice on mitigating actions.
· Maintain cybersecurity and insurance to meet operational requirements, and provide oversight to ensure OCF contracts are value for money.
Key competencies
· ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified and membership of one of the major UK accountancy bodies
· Experience of charity accounting and knowledge of best practice
· A proven track record of financial management in a an organisation with significant turnover understanding of restricted spend-down funds and endowments
· Experience in accounting software – preferably SAGE – with good computer literacy, including MS Excel and ideally CRM systems such as Salesforce
· Ability to think strategically in financial matters and identify areas of risk and opportunity, and to implement improvements working with colleagues.
· Good communication skills, particularly with the ability to explain financial data to a generalist audience of senior decision-makers.
· Commitment to the mission and values of the Oxfordshire Community Foundation
· Commitment to developing staff, preferably with line management experience.
· Willingness to undertake occasional planned evening duties, such as quarterly Finance Committee and Board meetings.
