Our Development Team
The Donmar has an exceptional ability to raise private funds, and the vital importance of fundraising is recognised across the organisation and embedded in the overall strategy. Each year we raise around half our income through fundraising from a varied number of sources, with corporate income representing around a third of the fundraised income. The Development team is led by the Director of Strategic Development and Fundraising, and comprises 11 people.
Purpose of the role
The Development Events Manager will be responsible for the planning, administration and delivery of all development events at the Donmar Warehouse, working alongside the Head of Trusts and Events and with support from the Events Administrator.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of leading, managing and delivering events and strong project management skills. They will have excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to proactively work on their own initiative as well as in a team, with very strong attention to detail. They will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and to leading multiple events simultaneously.
TERMS
Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £33,000 per annum
Working Hours: Due to the nature of the role you will be required to work some weekday evenings on a regular basis and very occasionally on the weekend. A TOIL system is in operation.

ROLE
An exciting role focused on growing and supporting the range of events that take place in Bridge 5 Mill, being first point of contact with potential hirers of our events spaces, supporting our community of tenants and users, and supporting Bridge 5 Mill’s day to day operations, including reception, marketing and social media.
BACKGROUND
Bridge 5 Mill is a centre of social change in a historic 5 storey mill on the edge of Ancoats / Northern Quarter, comprising workspaces and event spaces. Our unique sustainable and ethical approach characterises our building and drives all our activities. Bridge 5 Mill is part of a family of organisations (part of the Fairfield Environment Trust, a registered charity) including the Kindling Trust, promoting ecological and social justice through a broad range of projects.
We have just fixed our broken lift. This is great news, as the period without a lift had a significant impact on our community of tenants, wider users and on our income from venue hire (with far fewer events able to take place during this time). This came on the tail of the Covid pandemic, which transformed how and when people use workspaces and events spaces.
We are now at a pivotal time to rebuild both our events program and our offer as a beautiful, ethical and central venue to hire, as well as exploring how to diversify our services. You will be an instrumental part in the development and growth of our activities and in overcoming these recent challenges.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a small dedicated team to help us deliver our vision. Alongside the Building Manager, your role will cover day to day operations, reception, events and marketing. You will be central to supporting events and our hirers, promoting our social change vision, and making Bridge 5 Mill a thriving community hub. We are looking for someone with experience of managing or promoting events, excellent interpersonal skills, energy and leadership.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE
Events and community building duties;
- First point of contact for enquiries about events or from potential hirers
- Liaise with hirers and event facilitators
- Build events collaborations and partners
- Assist with event setup and management
- Plan and deliver community, social change and revenue generating events
- Build a network with similar spaces in Manchester to strengthen collaborations
- Uphold excellent service and reputation for the venue
Marketing duties;
- Deliver marketing outputs to increase revenue streams and new opportunities
- Develop a portfolio of new corporate clients
- Promote Bridge 5 Mill services, events, campaigns, values and social impact
- Promote and support our community’s activities
- Build relationship with key partners, local groups and new collaborators
- Manage and build Bridge 5 Mill’s online presence and accounts
- Produce compelling content and assist with marketing materials
Reception and day to day operations duties;
- Assist with bookings and appointment scheduling
- Support a friendly and welcoming environment
- Greet and assist building users
- Answer queries, phone calls, respond to emails and messages
- Provide information about Bridge 5 Mill and promote our services
- Supervise the security of the building
- On-call duties requiring timely response by phone or visits to the Mill
- Be a first responder i.e. fire marshal, first aider…

The Post-Diagnosis Support Programme Manager is a key role at ReMind UK, working across ReMind UK's departments to plan and co-ordinate the delivery of our post-diagnosis interventions. The role works in partnership with local organisations and groups across Bath and North East Somerset, to drive an insight-driven, fully evaluated programme of events and courses at the ReMind UK centre and in local venues. Purpose of the job
The Senior Hr & Operations Officer is responsible for the charity’s day to day HR and operational functions to ensure efficiency and compliance. The role involves managing recruitment, onboarding and mandatory training records whilst maintaining accurate HR records.
Operational responsibilities include co-ordinating office administration, procurement and facilities management to ensure a safe, productive workplace. The ideal candidate will bring strong organisational, interpersonal and problem solving skills to streamline processes and the confidence and ability to lead change.
Duties and responsibilities
Human resources
1. Maintain employee records in line with GDPR principles and confidentiality requirements
2. Support health and safety compliance with our external Health and Safety Partners, Croner
3. Co-ordination of employee mandatory training including keeping accurate training records
4. Oversee the day-to-day management of our HR management system, BrightHR
5. Support SLT through the full recruitment cycle from job posting to conditional offers and pre-employment checks
6. Manage the Onboarding process for new starters to ensure a positive induction experience

Key duties and responsibilities:
Audience Engagement
• Deliver exceptional customer care, ensuring all supporters and donors are thanked promptly—whatever the channel.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and the wider team to deliver supporter journeys, making recommendations for improvements and changes.
• Respond swiftly and professionally to all audience and supporter enquiries by phone, email, and post.
• Proactively share audience feedback with relevant teams.
• Handle any complaints, liaising with the complainant and the relevant member of staff to achieve a resolution, following the complaints process.
• Maintain Eventbrite with lecture details and engagement information.
• To act as Duty Manager for evening lectures when required.
• Provide support to the wider Gresham College team by attending lectures and special events.
CRM Administration
• Serve as primary contact for database management, ensuring data accuracy to drive fundraising and engagement.
• Coordinate data selections, mailings, invitations, and content fulfilment.
• Regularly import, export, and merge data from online giving and ticketing platforms.
• Track and report performance against targets and KPIs for the Head of Fundraising & Engagement.
• Ensure best practice is followed, complying with current legislation and internal policies in relation to data protection, GDPR and gift aid processing and ensure that all activity is carried out in a legal and compliant way.
Hall Hire and Event Co-ordination
• Be the first point of contact for hall hire enquiries and manage all related admin.
• Oversee stocks, supplies, and space organisation for events.
• Lead setup and breakdown for lectures and venue lettings.
• Arrange and manage bookings for external event venues, handling all logistics.
• Organise catering for special events and meetings both at Barnard’s Inn and other venues.
• Be responsible for excellent customer care of existing and new venue hire clients.
• Organise all activity around venue hire events, including collaborating with the AV team
• Liaise and support the Head of Fundraising & Engagement over the promotion of Barnards’ Inn to increase income generation from lettings.
Other
• Working with volunteers to enable them to assist in the delivery of tasks as appropriate.

Person specification:
Essential Skills & Experience
- Customer Service Excellence: Proven experience delivering high-quality customer care, ideally in a fundraising, or educational setting. Ability to handle enquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- CRM and Data Management: Strong working knowledge of CRM systems (we use Beacon) including data entry, segmentation, and reporting. Experience with data imports/exports and maintaining data accuracy.
- Event Coordination: Experience planning and delivering events, including logistics, venue liaison, catering, and AV coordination. Comfortable acting as Duty Manager and supporting evening lectures and events.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage supporters, respond to enquiries, and write engaging responses.
- Digital Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Eventbrite, and online giving platforms. Comfortable using digital tools to manage bookings, communications, and supporter journeys.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail.
