Avon Wildlife Trust is looking for a Finance Officer to support their small Finance team and provide an accurate, efficient and professional finance service across the Trust.
This role would suit someone who has had experience in a similar finance role. You will be responsible for processing a variety of transactions including purchase and sales invoices, staff expenses, gift aid and finance queries. Working with a passionate team in a friendly, dynamic environment where everything we do supports our teams who are delivering for nature and wildlife.
The successful candidate is likely to enjoy being busy with a variety of tasks, being well-organised and with good attention to detail.
Overall Purpose of Job
To support the provision of an accurate, professional and efficient finance administration service.
Main Responsibilities
· To input and process finance data on a daily basis, using the finance system (currently Xledger), Excel, and CRM and other relevant systems, to maintain accurate and up to date financial records for the Trust and Folly Farm Centre.
· To support the Financial Controller and Accountant in the provision of accurate and up to date financial information.
· To provide cover if required for general administration, including telephone, reception and general enquiries.
· Attend regular team meetings and make a positive contribution to delivering an excellent finance service.
· To undertake specific ad hoc tasks as required.

What you will be doing:
In this role, you will act as a first point of contact both face to face and over the telephone, handling a diverse range of enquiries and visits from families, volunteers, supporters, staff and members of the public. In addition, you will provide a high level of administrative and customer care support to include donation processing, database maintenance, delivering support activities for online fundraising page supporters. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and deepen your understanding of fundraising and charity work, be involved in maintaining excellent donor and supporter relationships whilst working within a supportive and professional fundraising team. Charlton Farm is a beautiful and well equipped workplace at the edge of Bristol with plenty of free parking, surrounded by beautiful walks and views. The role is 21 hours per week worked over three days: Wednesday to Friday.
The Successful Candidate:
You will be adept at prioritising competing demands and able to adapt your approach to a variety of situations and audiences. You will have a good telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills, with an excellent understanding of confidentiality and data protection, an interest in the aims and objectives of Children's Hospice South West, a professional approach with tact and diplomacy and the ability to enthuse and motivate others. You will have a flexible and collaborative approach to teamwork, and the ability and confidence to apply your own initiative. An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel and Outlook) and database management is essential as is the ability to carry out detailed work with high attention to detail and accuracy. We are looking for a Centre Support Coordinator to join our team in our Bristol Centre. In this role, you will provide a warm and welcoming reception for young people, staff, and visitors over the phone and in person, so if you are approachable, passionate, and non-judgemental, this could be your role.
You will indirectly support young people by ensuring that our Bristol Centre operates safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing delivery space, facilities compliance and controlling office equipment and supplies. Having previous administrative experience is beneficial but not essential.
To be successful in this role, you must have a good understanding of the challenges young people within our target groups face, to assist them when they arrive in our Centre. In this role no two days are the same, you get to be involved with many different functions of the Trust and interact with everyone who works in the Bristol Centre, this is why planning and organisation skills are a must.
