Job description

Appointment Type: Full-time, permanent

Working hours: 35 hours per week, usually worked Monday to Friday. However, this role will require some evening and weekend working.

Location: Cathedral Campus, 3 Ford Street, Salford, M3 6DP

Salary: £33,000-£40,000 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience


The Diocese of Salford is seeking a Facilities and Operations Manager to support in managing the operations of the Cathedral Campus, which includes the Church, House, Centre and building under development. This role is to unify and integrate the aspects of facilities and operational management across the various buildings in the campus to ensure a consistently high standard across the premises.

What we’re looking for:

The Facilities and Operations Manager will be responsible for leadership and management across all operational and facilities management aspects of the Cathedral Campus. They will manage the catering, reception, caretaking and housekeeping functions to ensure the highest standards of safety, hygiene, hospitality and service are delivered.

What you’ll need:

Experience of managing staff and projects is essential for this role. the Facilities and Operations manager will have substantial and relevant experience, including facilities management and the relevant compliance aspects associated with this area. Knowledge of health and safety is key.

The Facilities and Operations Manager will be a strong communicator who is organised, driven and enthusiastic about effectively leading and managing others. He or she will be able to prioritise, problem-solve and innovate, making sound judgments and decisions in complex situations through clear-thinking and professional assertiveness.
