Duties and Responsibilities 
 
•Responsible for the end-to-end volunteer experience at the Southern Central Depot
•Recruit, induct, and support volunteers 
•Handle individual volunteers’ queries and issues
•Carry out administrative tasks including using the Volunteer Management System in Microsoft Dynamics. Report on and utilise the data to make positive changes
•Manage volunteer feedback and implement effective problem-solving techniques and strategies
•Develop and deliver volunteer recruitment campaigns

•Lead the implementation of volunteer-related policies and continuous improvement initiatives locally

You have a passion for being in a charity that is expanding rapidly and thriving in a busy environment. You will have a desire to help reduce food waste and/or fight food poverty.

About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you will play a central role in shaping how HENRY grows and delivers its services nationally. You will lead on developing our business offer, managing contracts and licences, and building strong, lasting relationships with commissioners and partners.

This is a strategic and hands-on role, giving you ownership of the full contract lifecycle - from developing compelling offers to negotiating, managing, and renewing agreements. You will work closely with the CEO and senior colleagues, helping to strengthen our income streams and ensure we continue delivering meaningful impact for families.

This is a rare opportunity to take on a strategic Business Development role on a part-time (0.6 FTE) basis, offering flexibility alongside meaningful responsibility.

About the Team

You will join our Business Development team, supporting income growth and ensuring contract compliance to enable the continued scale of our charitable work. You will be line managed by the CEO and work closely with colleagues across Business Development, Family Support and Training teams.

Key Responsibilities

This role holds responsibility for:

1. Business Offer Development for HENRY

• With colleagues in Business Development, ensure HENRY has a clear, costed and attractive offer for localities wanting to deliver HENRY in partnership.
• Lead an annual review of costs and prices of our training, programmes and licensing to remain cost-effective, competitive and value for money.
• As part of Business Development team, work with team members and Finance to ensure timely and clear understanding of income through license fees, training commissions and resource sales.
• Remain abreast of the needs of commissioners to ensure HENRY remains agile and relevant in its offer in supporting babies, children and families lead healthy, happy lives.
• Work with colleagues in Development to help plan training and development needs as appropriate.

2. Contract Development, Management and Compliance

• Oversee the full lifecycle of contracts and licenses, from drafting and negotiation to execution and renewal in line with legal, regulatory and organisational policies.
• Take responsibility for establishing contracts when a new local area is onboarded, working closely with the other Business Development Manager and CEO.
• Ensure data sharing agreements are in place, reviewed and adhered to, working closely with the data protection leads.
• Manage ongoing relationships, additional services (such as training commissions) and renewal discussions with existing HENRY areas, monitoring compliance with contractual obligations and taking appropriate action where commitments are not being met.
• Collaborate with local Service Managers and National Family Support Lead in direct delivery areas to manage commissioner relationships and ensure service commitments are met and proactively identifying opportunities for contract extensions or expanded services.
• Review and analyse contracts to identify risks, opportunities and improvements.
• Work with colleagues in Family Support and Data and Evaluation Team to ensure reporting is timely, accurate and aligned with contractual obligations.

3. Organisational Support and Alignment

• Maintain organised and accessible records of all contracts, amendments and key dates.
• Provide guidance, advice and training to staff on contract-related issues, interpretation and compliance, promoting consistent and confident practice across HENRY.
• Work closely with Finance, Training and Development teams to ensure contracts align with budgetary and service delivery requirements.
• Contribute to the development of organisational policies and procedures relating to contract management.

The Contract Governance team helps Frontline deliver its mission by supporting the governance of Approach Social Work and other strategically important work, making sure decisions are clear, risks are understood, strategic partnerships work well, and colleagues have what they need to deliver lasting change for children and families.

This role is placed at a senior-manager banding to reflect the level of responsibility, autonomy and judgement required. This includes leading significant areas of contract governance, working with senior internal and external stakeholders, and deputising for the Principal Contract Governance Manager where appropriate. As part of the role, this may include line management responsibility for members of the Contract Governance team during periods of absence, parental leave or increased team need.

Some key responsibilities include:

Finance Administration 

• Together with the Finance Manager (Strategic) and the Co-Director, ensure that the charity’s finances are well managed and accounts are kept up to date. 

• Maintain overall responsibility for accounts receivable, and support the Finance Manager (Strategic) with accounts payable.

• Working together with the Finance Manager (Strategic), ensure all income and expenditure is entered onto the electronic book-keeping system (currently Quickbooks) accurately and in a timely manner, and assigned to relevant funds in accordance with funders’ requirements and restrictions.

• Ensure all donation details are correctly entered into the Donorfy fundraising database. 

• Ensure imported data in the accounting systems reconciles accurately with recorded transactions, and produce bank reconciliations as needed. 

Finance Management 

• Implement and monitor day-to-day financial controls, ensuring all processes meet audit and internal control standards. Ensure proper document storage, coding and audit trails for all transactions. 

• Support the Finance Manager (Strategic) in reviewing and updating operational finance procedures and ensuring organisation-wide compliance. 

• Working closely with the Finance Manager (Strategic) and the Co-Director, support improvements to finance systems and workflows. 

• Act as a bank signatory where appropriate.

Income Management 

• Ensure that all grants and other income due to the charity are received and managed in line with funder conditions and restrictions. 

• Issue and track invoices to ensure all income owed to the charity is collected promptly. 

• Ensure all cheques / cash income received is deposited into the current account in a timely manner. 

• Support fundraising and individual giving colleagues by providing accurate, timely financial information on a weekly basis to strengthen donor stewardship and reporting. 

• Maintain accurate records of gift aid declarations made. Prepare and submit regular Gift Aid claims to maximise eligible income. 

• Maintain accurate records of gift-in-kind and pro bono donations, organisational assets and restricted funds. 

• Ensure all income is recorded consistently across both the financial system and the fundraising database, working closely with the Individual Giving Manager to ensure alignment and information flow. 

Operational Reporting & Support 

• Provide financial administration support across the organisation, including for delivery teams and fundraising colleagues. 

• Work closely with the Finance Manager (Strategic) to ensure accurate information flows between operational processing and financial planning/reporting. 

• Provide responsive support to staff, helping them navigate finance processes confidently and consistently. 

• Support the Finance Manager (Strategic) to prepare quarterly financial updates and Management accounts, as well as annual financial statements. 

• Support the Finance Manager (Strategic) and Co-Director with payroll, pension reports and human resources management when required. 

• Attend the quarterly Finance & HR committee meetings and contribute to preparing papers as needed. 

General 

• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post.

Dog Aid Scotland

Dog Aid Scotland is celebrating its 70th anniversary of creating and protecting loving homes across Scotland. The charity helps keep dogs with their owners whenever possible and when that’s not possible, we find dogs new homes, giving them hope for a future.

The Role

The Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Volunteer Support function including overseeing the day-to-day administration of key volunteer processes. The postholder will also line manage the Volunteer Support Officers who act as the first point of contact to volunteers in assisting with these processes and wider administration.

Purpose of Role:

• To ensure the smooth and effective running of all aspects of Healthwatch Bucks’ delivery.

Purpose of the role:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment and Staffing:

· Oversee best practice in inclusive recruitment, ensuring alignment with Back Up’s values and commitment to diversity and inclusion.

· Partner with SMT and hiring managers to identify current and future workforce needs and develop effective recruitment and workforce planning strategies.

· Ensure role descriptions are consistent, future-focused, and aligned with organisational design and strategic priorities.

· Monitor recruitment metrics (e.g. time-to-hire, diversity of applicants, conversion rates) and implement improvements.

Employee Relations and Culture:

· Work closely with the People Development volunteer supporting team member coaching, awareness and self-development.

· Oversee the delivery and effectiveness of the induction and ongoing learning programmes

· Lead on the e-learning programme, ensuring content is relevant, impactful, and meets regulatory requirements

Performance Management:

· Oversee performance management processes, ensuring they are consistent, fair, and aligned with Back Up’s values and behaviours.

· Provide guidance and coaching to managers on performance management, including managing underperformance and supporting development.

· Line Management of HR, People and Culture administrator providing clear direction, development support and quality assurance across HR administration.

HR Systems, Data and Insight:

• Oversee HR systems to ensure they are fit for purpose, user-friendly, and effectively support organisational needs.
• Ensure data integrity and robust reporting processes are in place across all HR systems.
• Analyse HR metrics and provide insight and recommendations to SMT.
• Use data to inform workforce planning, organisational development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Best Practice, Policy Development and Compliance:

· Review and update our staff handbook and HR policies and procedures using Back Up’s tone of voice and ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practice.

· Ensure all staff are aware of and understand HR policies and procedures through effective communication and training.

· Identify and manage HR-related risks, escalating significant issues where appropriate.

· Support organisational audits by ensuring HR systems, records, and processes are compliant and well maintained.

· Stay informed about changes in employment legislation and recommend necessary adjustments to policies.
