We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Development & Fundraising Manager to play a central role in strengthening and growing our income.

This is an opportunity to lead the development of a strategic and sustainable approach to fundraising, while continuing to deliver hands-on income across a diverse portfolio.

Key responsibilities

Finance Administration 

• Together with the Finance Manager (Strategic) and the Co-Director, ensure that the charity’s finances are well managed and accounts are kept up to date. 

• Maintain overall responsibility for accounts receivable, and support the Finance Manager (Strategic) with accounts payable.

• Working together with the Finance Manager (Strategic), ensure all income and expenditure is entered onto the electronic book-keeping system (currently Quickbooks) accurately and in a timely manner, and assigned to relevant funds in accordance with funders’ requirements and restrictions.

• Ensure all donation details are correctly entered into the Donorfy fundraising database. 

• Ensure imported data in the accounting systems reconciles accurately with recorded transactions, and produce bank reconciliations as needed. 

Finance Management 

• Implement and monitor day-to-day financial controls, ensuring all processes meet audit and internal control standards. Ensure proper document storage, coding and audit trails for all transactions. 

• Support the Finance Manager (Strategic) in reviewing and updating operational finance procedures and ensuring organisation-wide compliance. 

• Working closely with the Finance Manager (Strategic) and the Co-Director, support improvements to finance systems and workflows. 

• Act as a bank signatory where appropriate.

Income Management 

• Ensure that all grants and other income due to the charity are received and managed in line with funder conditions and restrictions. 

• Issue and track invoices to ensure all income owed to the charity is collected promptly. 

• Ensure all cheques / cash income received is deposited into the current account in a timely manner. 

• Support fundraising and individual giving colleagues by providing accurate, timely financial information on a weekly basis to strengthen donor stewardship and reporting. 

• Maintain accurate records of gift aid declarations made. Prepare and submit regular Gift Aid claims to maximise eligible income. 

• Maintain accurate records of gift-in-kind and pro bono donations, organisational assets and restricted funds. 

• Ensure all income is recorded consistently across both the financial system and the fundraising database, working closely with the Individual Giving Manager to ensure alignment and information flow. 

Operational Reporting & Support 

• Provide financial administration support across the organisation, including for delivery teams and fundraising colleagues. 

• Work closely with the Finance Manager (Strategic) to ensure accurate information flows between operational processing and financial planning/reporting. 

• Provide responsive support to staff, helping them navigate finance processes confidently and consistently. 

• Support the Finance Manager (Strategic) to prepare quarterly financial updates and Management accounts, as well as annual financial statements. 

• Support the Finance Manager (Strategic) and Co-Director with payroll, pension reports and human resources management when required. 

• Attend the quarterly Finance & HR committee meetings and contribute to preparing papers as needed. 

General 

• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post.

• Support wider organisational activities as needed, including on occasion in the evenings or at weekends. 

• Meet regularly for line management, supervision and appraisal with the Co-Director. 

• Identify own training needs and undertake relevant training and development, approved by the Co-Director. 

About the role:

Porchlight is dedicated to supporting people facing homelessness, poor mental health, and poverty. Our donors are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for a strategic and visionary Supporter Development Manager to lead our individual giving and legacy programmes at a pivotal moment for the charity.

• Managerial and Fundraising Expertise: You have a minimum of three years’ experience in a project management or direct line-management role, with a proven track record of meeting financial targets and KPIs.
• Administrative and Analytical Excellence: You are confident using digital tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems like Raiser’s Edge to manage complex data, track campaign activity, and ensure compliance with GDPR and Gift Aid regulations.

Volunteer Centre Hackney is a thriving charity (annual income circa £1.1m, with 29 paid staff) providing volunteering infrastructure to the voluntary sector across the City of London and the London borough of Hackney. This is a hands-on and strategic role for an experienced fundraiser who thrives in a small to medium sized charity environment. You will have autonomy to develop a whole new fundraising strategy, utilise diverse fundraising methods, and build and develop new project ideas and partnerships. You will lead on income generation primarily through sourcing and applying to trusts and foundations, and with the potential to build new corporate partnerships, community campaigns and individual giving. About the team 

The Special Events team manages a comprehensive and diverse programme of 20-30 high-end events per year to raise funds, raise awareness and support the work of the hospital. The team produce many of the charity flagship events, such as black-tie gala dinners at the Natural History Museum and our annual Christmas Carol Concert, with the events raising between £100,000 to £1.5 million. In addition, the Special Events team works on a range of enrichment events for the patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital, like the annual winter party, The Snow Ball. The team holds relationships with a large external supporter base of high-value senior volunteers and committees who are pivotal to the success of the events. The team also act as an event agency for the rest of the charity, working with colleagues to deliver their event needs such as drinks receptions and stewardship events.

Purpose of job

To lead and develop BucksVision’s approach to volunteer involvement across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, ensuring volunteers are recruited, trained, supported and retained to help deliver high-quality services for people with sight loss.

The Volunteer Manager provides guidance and support to staff, volunteers and local groups, helping BucksVision maintain a safe, confident and sustainable volunteer base.

BucksVision relies on over 280 volunteers to support people with sight loss across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Volunteers are central to the charity’s ability to maintain existing services, respond to local need and develop new opportunities.

The Volunteer Manager plays a key role in ensuring BucksVision has a safe, effective and sustainable volunteer base. The Berkshire and Hampshire Borders (BHB) Methodist Circuit is a network of twenty-five churches across western Berkshire and northern Hampshire, united by a vision to proclaim God's love as a justice-seeking community. Our mission is to be a growing, inclusive, and evangelistic church where faith deepens and communities are transformed. 

As Operations Manager, you'll be the backbone supporting our work. Working with the Leadership Team, you'll coordinate the operational infrastructure that keeps twenty-five autonomous churches running — from property and finance to safeguarding and compliance — empowering churches and outreach staff to deliver high-quality support to church members and vulnerable people.

The Role
You'll provide operational guidance and support to the Circuit Leadership Team and Circuit Meeting (Trustees), attending meetings and preparing reports on governance matters. You'll manage the Circuit Finance Officer, ensuring sound accounting practices, financial controls, and reporting. Across property, you'll oversee 19 houses — coordinating quinquennial inspections, maintenance plans, manse preparation for incoming ministers, externally managed letting of surplus properties, and professional appointments for sales and purchases. You'll also support energy and telecoms contract negotiations.

In safeguarding, you'll co-lead the Circuit Safeguarding Team, coordinate training, and maintain records of DBS checks. For health and safety, you'll guide churches on policies, risk assessments, and fire safety, with professional support as needed. Key Details

You have experience in an operational, administrative, or management role coordinating processes, policies, and systems. You've supported multiple stakeholders — staff, volunteers, or committees and have familiarity with safeguarding, health and safety, or compliance. You're organised, an excellent communicator, and can work with sensitivity within a faith-based organisation. You hold a full driving licence with access to a reliable vehicle and are willing to travel. Desirably, you have a relevant qualification, experience with financial administration or property management, and understanding of Methodist Church structures.

Purpose of the job 

Thames21’s purpose is to deliver increasingly resilient and healthy rivers and landscapes that are closer to their natural state with an abundance of fish and wildlife, empowering and working with people to bring multiple benefits to the natural environment, to individuals and communities.  In recent years we have significantly up-scaled our planning and delivery of river restoration works and by 2027 we will improve 15km of river habitat annually.

To enable this, we are looking for a committed, self-motivated and technically capable River Restoration Manager to lead this work.

Candidates with a proven track record in delivering river restoration and/or habitat improvement projects, including experience managing contractors and in partnership with multiple public and private partners are encouraged to apply. The candidate should be technically strong in one or all areas of river restoration (woody habitat interventions, fish passage etc) and adept at managing complex budgets and reporting to funders. You will have confidence and credibility and be able to engage and influence a variety of stakeholders.

This role is a key position in implementing Thames21 mission and the selected candidate will be part of a dynamic and committed team. You will have the chance to add input and help develop our Five-Year Strategic Plan goals and as a key position in the organisation, you will influence how we deliver our restoration goals. 

Main duties and responsibilities 

Work with Thames21’s Head of Improving Rivers and local stakeholders such as catchment partnerships, councils, Friends groups etc. to develop and deliver river and wetland restoration projects throughout the areas we work.

· Develop detailed plans for the river and wetland restoration in consultation with local and expert stakeholders, meeting local needs and ecological objectives. Ensuring the necessary requirements for Construction, Design and Management (CDM) are covered as part of that process. 

· Obtain all necessary permissions to deliver the projects, potentially including flood defence consent and planning permission. 

· Ensure that the development and implementation of the works are well integrated into wider programmes such as catchment partnerships, evidencing and community engagement.

· Work with project partners to develop and manage tender processes for works which require the use of contractors, the tender processes will need to meet relevant requirements for project partners and funders (including CDM). 

· Ensure that the Team’s RAMS are all correct and up to date. As well as ensuring all H&S documentation is correct and filed within SharePoint.

· Manage contractors to implement projects so they achieve maximum benefits and alignment to project scope.

· In partnership with others, use a range of monitoring tools to record and quantify the impact of different activities. Ensuring this data is captured correctly and presented to the programme funder, to potential future project funders and available to other relevant parties. 

· Support the development and delivery of watercourse Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) projects, including habitat condition assessment, monitoring, reporting and long-term management planning.

· Input to the strategic development of Thames21’s work particularly the Improving Rivers Portfolio.

We’re searching for a Financial Accounting Manager to take the lead on all things accounting: from ongoing accuracy on the general ledger to year-end accounts.

What does this role do?
As Financial Accounting Manager, you will:

• Be responsible for end-of-year accounts, working closely with colleagues and auditors to ensure all accounts are completed accurately and compliance is maintained,
• Maintain ongoing accuracy in the general ledger for UK entities, reviewing transactions and control accounts to identify and rectify errors,
• Ensure tax compliance, from reviewing returns to ensuring compliance in line with changes to tax legislation and guidance,
• Manage and coach the Assistant Financial Accountants, providing strong leadership, performance management and professional development,

Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for 1st June 2026, and will take place on Teams. This role is available as a fixed term, family leave cover until August 2027.

Could this be you?
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a fully qualified accountant who has been responsible for managing the year-end process in a large group, who understands complex VAT environments and maintaining an accounting system. You’ll work pro-actively and flexibly to meet multiple competing deadlines, while leading and coaching a small team. You’ll be an excellent communicator, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the charity and communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues. The Senior Fundraising Manager is responsible for delivering Brightside’s fundraising activity with a core focus on grants from trusts and foundations, and major donors. Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, the postholder will forge new relationships with major donors and manage our grant applications to support Brightside to achieve its fundraising targets. The postholder will deliver high quality stewardship across our major donor relationships and act as the key point of contact for all grant activity, working closely with the delivery teams to support funder relationship management and reporting.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to develop clear cases for support for potential funding projects, as well as managing our approach to individual giving and increasing regular donations. The role will involve working closely with the CEO and the trustees, who will provide warm introductions to their networks of potential major donors and support in their stewardship.

Responsible for:

Trusts and foundations:

• Identify and research trusts and foundations that would support our organisational priorities and funding needs
• Develop high quality, compelling grant applications and cases for support
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of funding opportunities
• Lead funder relationship management and deliver high-quality stewardship
• Lead on grant reporting, including monitoring, accountability and opportunities for reapplication
• Working closely with technology and delivery teams to build evidence-based cases for support for key projects
• Ensure clear and effective handover of successful grants to delivery teams, including reporting requirements and timelines
• Attending external events and meetings to support our fundraising strategy and learning

Major donors:

• Identify and research potential major donors whose interests and capacity align with our mission
• Cultivate new donor relationships through targeted outreach, contact mapping, networking and events
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of potential major donors
• Develop tailored engagement and stewardship plans approaches for each donor
• Create meaningful opportunities for donors to share insight, experience or sector knowledge and ensure this expertise is valued and acknowledged
• Lead major gift conversations and negotiations, including face-to-face meetings
• Provide high quality, personalised stewardship to major donors
• Identify opportunities to grow or repeat giving through deeper donor engagement
• Deliver exceptional stewardship to major donors

Individual giving

• Maintaining regular contact with donors and potential donors (including our volunteers and alumni) to generate donations
• Maintaining and monitoring our individual giving platforms
• Ensure all donations and supporter interactions are accurately recorded and that donors receive timely acknowledgements
