Job description

Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us, and it's the reason our Services team push themselves to transform the lives of children and families – in person, in Hubs nationwide, and through the knowledge they share.

We are currently developing an exciting and innovative service offer to meet the needs of children, young people, families and professionals across the East of England and are looking for Children's Service Practitioner's to join our team to help build capacity and increase our reach to make a difference in the lives of more children and young people.

Our aim is to increase understanding of child sexual abuse and neglect and to raise awareness so that abuse can be identified, responded to and ultimately prevented. We will do this by working with and training local partners to build capacity, skills and knowledge to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team in developing and building our work in the East of England. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid team, working from home or co-working spaces, supporting the delivery and development of services. In the first instance we will be taking a place-based approach by working in the Luton and Bedfordshire area, however successful candidates will be expected to travel throughout the region.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible and passionate about creating change, working with and making a difference for children and their families. They will have the ability to plan and deliver appropriate services and to support and work alongside partners.

Whilst working within the challenging environment of safeguarding children you will be supported by your colleagues, managers and the wider NSPCC organisation. You will also get an opportunity to work alongside other professionals in the NSPCC to widen your knowledge and skills as well as the opportunity to be involved in our work in schools and campaigning across the East of England. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues in other agencies, both statutory and voluntary. Full induction training is provided, and we are committed to ongoing professional development, enabling practitioners to achieve their full potential.

Join us and you'll become part of a team that cares about the work we do and the people we work with. You will discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that will bring the best out in you. You will get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts young lives.

In return, we offer a full range of family friendly policies and benefits to help achieve a good work-life balance.  Our people are at the heart of everything we do. It's because of them that we're able to continue our work to protect children and prevent abuse. We work hard to ensure that that they feel happy and supported in their role.

The NSPCC is committed to equality and diversity and wants to attract a range of talented people. The NSPCC fully supports the rights and opportunities of all staff to seek, obtain and hold employment and to enjoy equal employment opportunities without discrimination.

We have 4 Children's Services Practitioner (Level3) posts available.  All applicants must hold a social work qualification to be considered for this position. Please read supporting documents about the role and we encourage interested applicants to make contact to discuss the position further.
