We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Knowledge and Information Manager to lead our recently expanded Knowledge and Information team. In this role you will have responsibility for leading the development of our highly regarded information and resources, to support, and empower everyone affected by Crohn’s or Colitis.  This includes our evidence-based online and printed publications, web content, research summaries and other information, ensuring it is relevant, and accessible to all.

You will be driving new initiatives and developing tactical plans for the team which meet our strategic objectives.

You will be a member of the charity’s Management Development Forum, providing leadership across the organisation and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team and contributing to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects.

About You

You will be skilled in the translation of complex medical and health information into engaging and accessible patient information, and have experience of working with patients and healthcare professionals to develop information resources in line with recognised standards.

Could you be our next Snow Camp London Programme Manager? 

Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across London, running snowsports youth programmes from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.

This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London. CYP Psychotherapist/Counsellor

Based in Hendon

Salary – £28,719.14 FTE (only term time – 45 weeks per year) or £33,186.56 FTE (full year – 52 weeks per year) 

Norwood are looking for a CYP Psychotherapist/Counsellor to provide therapeutic support to children/young people exhibiting emotional and/or behavioural problems or who are at risk of developing such problems.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• To provide individual therapy/counselling sessions, supporting pupils where there are concerns about their emotional wellbeing. Group interventions may also be delivered, depending on the needs of the centre/school. 
• To manage your own case load, taking referrals from the team senior or school Senco. To assist in assessing children’s needs and advise parents and/or staff on strategies to support children experiencing difficulties. To work with other Norwood services to support vulnerable families. 
• To demonstrate a range of therapeutic skills/techniques in order to work creatively and effectively with children/young people. 
• To undertake consultations with parents including review meetings. 
• To develop effective working relationships with teachers and support staff as well as parents/carers and other professionals. This may include attending relevant staff meetings and consultations as necessary (if the work is in school). 
• To undertake clinical supervision in accordance with BACP guidelines and participate in regular line management meetings. 
• To attend continuing professional development training as required. 
• To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of child protection issues and put this into practice, attending training as required. 
• To keep accurate client records and provide statistical/ monitoring information. 
• Write reports as required. 
• To liaise with and support referrals to other relevant bodies, such as local authority, health visitors, social care, CAMHS, and other agencies when appropriate. 
• To attend case conferences / planning/strategy/pastoral support meetings when appropriate and provide written reports as required.

Synergy, Brent is a Housing Related Support (HRS) Service for a range of vulnerable people who have been or are at risk of homelessness. The age eligibility criteria for the service is adults between the ages of 18 to 60, who are identified to have low/medium support needs. Some of the needs we support are:

• Single homeless between ages of 18 to 60
• Socially excluded individuals
• Ex-Offenders
• People with substance misuse
• Mental Health (Low)
• Learning disability (Low/Medium)
• Women who have come from domestic abuse environments and situations who may need low level support as part of their resettlement following a move on from a refuge or other safe domestic abuse supported accommodation.

SERVICE DELIVERY

• Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day operational delivery of the service and work directly with colleagues, residents, participants, and other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the presenting needs of all relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the Service Manager to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• In conjunction with the Service Manager, facilitate a program of continuous improvement in an environment where residents and participants are cared for, supported, and have access to resources they need to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.

RISK MANAGEMENT, INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND CASE RECORDING

• Follow the relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share any relevant information with partner agencies as appropriate.
• Ensure all case recording, and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring electronic records are protected in line with GDPR, and kept up to date and written to a high standard.
• Alongside the Service Manager, champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

PROPERTY AND HOUSING MANAGEMENT

• Create and manage a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents and participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is maintained to a high standard, in line with SIG’s property standards and meets all legal and statutory health and fire safety requirements to operate safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Provide support in setting the service’s budget and reviewing monthly management accounts; manage set budgets effectively and ensure resources are maximized.
• Maintain financial management within the service, including but not limited to, invoice management, arrears management, management of petty cash, and expense claims.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contract Management and Internal Auditing; Ensure due diligence is carried out and records are well maintained.
• Administration duties will vary, including operating online systems and ensuring correct processes are followed alongside GDPR and confidentiality.
• Other duties may include but are not limited to, maintaining clean and tidy environments, removing rubbish, ordering supplies, arranging in house events and activities and other general on-site duties.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with mental health issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Ability to follow organisational policies and process in line with external governance

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience in people management and development

About the role:
 

The Philanthropy & Events Executive will support our Philanthropy Lead and Managing Director to effectively manage existing match funding partner (“Champion”)  relationships, and help to develop new Champion relationships. You will support with Champion onboarding, stewarding and reporting as well as research, prospecting, and business development activities.  You will also manage events for high-value supporters, and play a key role in helping us grow the number of Champions through our events, such as our annual Big Give Christmas Party and Philanthropy Lunches. 

About you:

As a “tech first” organisation, we’re looking for someone with exceptional digital skills, experience in data administration and management and able to collate, segment and analyse donor information.  You will also have experience with CRM systems (experience using Salesforce would be advantageous) and processes to help manage the journey of our match funding partners (“Champions “). An understanding of the UK charity and philanthropy sector would be helpful.

What we do

This is an exciting opportunity to join the ENN team as our Management Accountant - Grants.  The role provides the opportunity to work across the spectrum of ENN’s projects, as part of the operations team. You will be based in our headquarters in Oxfordshire and will work closely with ENN’s Finance Manager and Projects Team.

 About You

Bringing your experience of third sector accounting to ENN, you will be able to communicate well with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You will be comfortable supporting complex projects, tailoring financial management information and reports to enable decision making and assuring donor compliance and reporting requirements are met consistently.

• Hours of work: Part time, 60% of full-time hours (22.5 hours per week – pattern to be agreed)

• Location: This is an office-based position at ENN’s Head Office in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, OX5. Some hybrid working may also be offered. Currently our Operations Teamwork from the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and we require this role to be in the office on these days.

Key responsibilities

 Grant compliance and reporting

• Financial compliance of grant spend in line with donor agreements ensuring no disallowable costs and that all allowable costs are reflected in the accounts correctly.
• Provide back up for grant financial reporting in the format required by donors for the projects team to review, collate and submit with the full donor reporting pack.
• Raise sales invoice to the donor with all back up attached and provide acknowledgement of funds letters upon receipt of cash in the bank.
• Work closely with the Finance Assistant and Projects team to ensure invoices are correctly coded to the right donor and project and complete month end reconciliations
• Input budget and quarterly reforecasts into the finance system (iplicit) and track grant performance against budgets on a regular basis providing variance analysis.
• Review and assimilate grant financial information for the Finance Manager and/or Project team as required which ultimately will be used as input in management reporting for various stakeholders (Technical budget holders, Management Team and Trustees).
• Support the organisation’s income generation ambitions, through the provision of advice, guidance and assistance, and in assisting with funding bids and budgeting and undertaking new funder/partner financial viability assessments as required.
• Maintain and update donor restricted fund balances/movements for year-end statutory reporting.
• Maintain project financial files and records for statutory audit and donor audit purposes.

Management accounting

• Prepare monthly income deferrals and income accruals and maintain month end trial balance reconciliations for management accounts.
• Capture any committed project costs to accrue.
• Apportion any interest earned from grant cash in the bank in line with donor contract terms.
• Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager on cash flow forecasting with regards to expected donor payments.
• As required by finance or the projects team, and working with iplicit, write reports in the finance system that would provide insightful and useful management information. For example, for grant monitoring and evaluation, trend analysis and assessing KPI’s etc
• Support the Finance Manager in capacity building and providing financial training to finance and non-finance staff.
• Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Manager with regards to specific financial projects, as required.
• Bank signatory for creditor payments in line with ENN’s Delegation of Authority Policy.
• Provide cover for the Finance Manager when necessary.

Essential requirements

• Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, would consider part qualified or qualified by experience)
• Experience of charity-specific accounting and grant reporting requirements
• Experience working with grant funded projects and ability to navigate and communicate compliance requirements
• Experience in developing, monitoring, and reporting against budgets
• Able to present and visualise data in different ways for different audiences
• Ability to manage a diverse and busy workload, prioritising effectively, and able to work both autonomously and as a member of a dispersed and diverse team
• Flexibility and willingness to take on new areas of work and responsibilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, works well with other team members and business partners (both internal and external), including those without a specific financial background.
• Adept at identifying efficiencies and best practice to strengthen ways of working to benefit ENN finance and projects teams

Duties & Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment:

• Develop and implement a regional volunteer recruitment strategy that will deliver an extensive pool of diverse and engaged volunteers to ensure the operational needs of FareShare North East (FSNE) are met in a timely manner.
• Recruit, build and maintain relationships with a wide range of regional volunteer sources, ensuring regular engagement leading to long term partnerships.
• Regular liaison with the FareShare UK Volunteering Team to capitalise on national initiatives.

Volunteer Engagement:

• Develop and deliver a regional engagement programme that ensures all volunteers have a rewarding experience, whilst effectively contributing to FSNE’s overall development
• Promote volunteering, internally and externally in collaboration with the FareShare UK Volunteering Team, to ensure that the impact of volunteers is celebrated.
• Deliver the volunteer induction programme to maximise the engagement and contribution of each volunteer.
• Develop and deliver volunteer training, which ensures all volunteers are able to meet their potential and complete their volunteer roles effectively.

Community & Events:

• Work with the wider team to host regular events at our Newcastle warehouse to help attract new volunteers to the charity
• Regularly attend volunteering fairs and events in the community to help raise awareness of FareShare North East and attract new volunteers
• Plan, organise, and host pop up events at a variety of public locations, including supermarkets and shopping centres, to promote FareShare North East to the public, including engaging with potential volunteers

General Duties:

• Always be willing to help stop food going to waste, working with volunteers to respond quickly & proactively to short dated food arriving 
• Actively support our food redistribution efforts, jumping on a van, helping out with picking, or pitching in with cleaning alongside our volunteers 
• Participate in volunteer events and celebrations, actively engaging our volunteers to ensure they feel valued and keep coming back 
• Be approachable & welcoming to volunteers at all times, making sure they feel like part of the team and feel involved in everything that we do 
• As a minimum, take part in one volunteering activity every month – spending a day in the warehouse working alongside the volunteers or out on the vans as a driver or driver’s mate 
• Support the whole team, spending at least one day per month working in our Middlesbrough warehouse, and support at least one fundraising event per quarter
