It’s life changing and challenging raising children who’ve been hurt or neglected, but kinship carers do it anyway because they put the children first.
Kinship have been awarded funding from the Department for Education to deliver the first ever national training programme to support kinship carers in their caring role. We are at the start of that journey.
About the role:
Kinship are seeking to recruit experienced event co-ordinators with a whole range of skills and great energy to join our brand-new training team. They will be responsible for delivering this first ever programme of its type supporting kinship carers across England in their caring role.
As a pivotal part of the team, you’ll be supporting delivery of high-quality in-person and online training events across England. You’ll be the first point of contact for the team and be experienced and responsive in dealing with enquiries. You’ll be used to working with suppliers and have proven experience of planning, co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of large events. You’ll bring significant working experience of using Microsoft tools, and other platforms and technology including Zoom. You’ll have a positive, can-do approach and the ability to work with initiative, being curious and always thinking ahead to anticipate need and deal with issues.
Collaboration will be key to your approach, and you’ll be detail orientated and be great at managing your time and priorities, and working to consistently high standards. You’ll plan, co-ordinate and support the successful delivery of all our online and in-person events, including being available and involved as needed on site.
In this role, you’ll travel across England and may have overnight stays from time to time. We offer training and support to enable you to be successful in your role and we’re happy to discuss requirements if you have kinship caring responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing highly effective project management and administrative support to the training programme, including supplier communication, coordinating programme logistics and delivery of all relevant general and financial administration tasks, e.g. scheduling meetings, providing agendas, writing briefings, minute-taking, monitoring expenditure and organising events, training and workshops.
- Being the first point of contact for the team, for both internal and external purposes, communicating effectively with kinship carers, internal training team, external delivery partners and other stakeholders to coordinate and confirm all training activity.
Essential requirements include:
- Proven experience in event planning and management. You will need previous experience being responsible for organising large events (over 50 people).
- Experience of developing and implementing administrative systems and processes that enable team effectiveness. You will need a minimum of 1 year’s administration experience.

o Deliver mandatory initial and ongoing training for volunteers.

The role holder will oversee the design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of a range of class leading events and programmes, across the UK and internationally. The role holder will be required to work collaboratively with the Team UK Manager, Recovery Programmes Manager and Recovery Pathways Manager to ensure programmes are carefully mapped to wider Recovery Services activity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting EI Coordinators to effectively run their centres, as well as training new EI coach teams.

We are looking for an experienced Youth Worker, to deliver training sessions and projects to young people through youth centres, community groups, schools, secure units and alternative provisions across South Wales and Bristol (including surrounding areas) and to ensure our programmes are fit for the future.

As the StreetDoctors Youth Worker in the Region, you will deliver high quality training, develop new partnerships and maintain positive relationships.

This is a new role for Emmaus Bristol. Through our five-year-planning process we identified a new staffing
structure that will allow our charity to thrive and to grow. The Head of Resources is needed so that the core organisation runs smoothly, and policies, processes and systems allow the team to do their jobs efficiently and effectively. This is a senior leadership role, but as we are a small charity, all roles are somewhat hands-on. You’ll need to be as confident discussing our reserves policy with trustees, as you would be resolving a cash discrepancy with a retail team member, and just as good at strategy as you are at detail.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Retention
- Administer the recruitment process by placing job adverts into the template on Canva, removing expired job adverts from the THET website; downloading applications; setting up interviews
- Update staff induction materials
- Update the Organisational Organogram on a monthly basis
- Update staff profiles on the THET website
- Maintain internal HR email/In-box
- Ensure new starters are added to the relevant induction meetings and staff meetings
Development & Performance
- Provide induction and refresher training to staff and volunteers on international travel
- Monitor implementation of staff training and development plans
Policies and procedures
- Follow THET policies and procedures, flagging any issues arising
- Update control sheet for policy review dates and maintain version control numbers for policies and forms
Administration
- Provide administrative support to the CEO and SMT
- Update and maintain the Activ absence system: – Create user accounts for new staff/ archive leavers; monitor staff absences
- Administer travel arrangements within the UK and overseas for senior managers
- Oversee and improve standard operating procedures and forms
- Support the HR & Operations Manager with administration of new and current consultants, volunteers, and interns (recruitment, contract reviews, induction, and compliance training schedules)
Operational Support
- Coordinate the procurement process for items and services including approvals, advertising, tender process, preferred supplier contracts, communication to parties
- Undertake office management tasks including responding to THET mail/ calls; arranging and servicing office meetings; maintaining email distribution lists and email accounts
- Facilitate the purchasing of staff IT and other work equipment in line with budget
- Activate email accounts; coordinate laptops for new staff/leavers; open and close IT accounts for starters, and deactivate these for leavers
- Act as the main point of contact for the outsourced IT supplier.
Health and wellbeing
- Prompt Country Directors to ensure Country risk registers are up-to-date and evacuation/hibernation plans exist
