To be successful as Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. In addition to administration support, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using XERO and our CRM.

You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.

You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:

Financial operations and record-keeping

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
• Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)
• Monitor cashflow and expenditure, keeping track of spending
• Pay invoices upon approval and ensure timely monthly payments (e.g. pensions, HMRC)
• Handle creditor and supplier communications and resolve related issues
• Monitor and follow up on overdue payments with a focus on membership payments

Invoicing and income tracking

• Issue and track membership and subscriber invoices and reminders
• Keep office team informed of payment statuses
• Prepare sales, cost, and profit reports for SLA publications
• Conduct annual publications stock take

Payroll and reporting

• Liaise with the accountant on salary payments; process salary BACS payments
• Support year-end financial reporting by providing necessary documentation to accountants
• Produce regular financial reports and analysis as required
• Supporting preparation of budgets, working with accountants as required

 Event financial administration

• Manage financial aspects of SLA events, particularly the annual conference (e.g., exhibitors, sponsors, and delegates)
• Process and record staff/trustee expense claims
• Support with bookings accommodation and travel for Board meetings

To be successful in this role you should demonstrate:

• Strong experience in financial and office administration
• Knowledge of accounting principles  
• Experience of working with XERO or similar
• Experience of using CRM systems (ideally IMIS)
• Experience of working for a small charity and / or membership association

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke.

Position: S11233 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Durham. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Salary: £19,596 per annum (FTE £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week

Contract: Permanent. However, services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

Your new company
As part of the work to support the integration of a leading University in London, the postholder will work closely with the HR Policy & Projects Manager in the review, development, and implementation of a new HR policy framework. This will include identifying gaps in existing policy provisions and contributing to and leading on the development and delivery of effective solutions. The postholder will also take a role in feedback processes with key stakeholders, including formal consultation with the recognised Trade Unions, and developing and implementing effective communication strategies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Keep abreast of pending legislative and regulatory changes, case law, and developments, and other good practice HR initiatives, to inform the development of new or revised HR Policies, Procedures, and other resources, and HR practices.

* Undertake background research and prepare reports, briefing papers, etc. for the development of people management strategies, policies, procedures, contracts, terms and conditions of service, ensuring that the University's HR policy resources remain fit for purpose.

* Draft new and/or updated documents (policies, procedures, guidance, and related resources) to reflect legislative and regulatory changes and HR best practice.

* In liaison with the HR Policy & Projects Manager and Head of Employee Relations & Policy Development, engage and consult with trade unions, Staff Networks, and other stakeholders in the development of people management strategies, policies, procedures, and good practice.

* Engage positively with HR colleagues and departmental staff from across the institution, to determine processes for the effective implementation of new or amended strategies and policies. This may include consideration of system and process implications and appropriate communication strategies.

* Provide high-quality, technical advice, guidance, and professional support to HR Directorate colleagues and others on employment policy and practice.

* Become a source of expert knowledge in relevant areas, such as clinical academics/ contractual arrangements.

* In liaison with the HR Policy & Projects Manager, the Marketing & External Relations Team, and other stakeholders (as appropriate), prepare communication plans, and develop manager and staff communications relating to policy, procedure, and related updates.

* Design and implement/deliver a variety of support mechanisms (e.g., training resources and guides, website resources) to maximise support available to the HR Team, staff, and managers on the application of employment law and HR best practice.

* In collaboration with colleagues in the Employee Relations & Policy Team, analyse trends from employee relations casework and employment case law to identify areas of potential risk, and make recommendations for policy changes, updates, or training requirements.

* Advise on and positively encourage the application of best practice in employment matters with regard to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

* (Where appropriate) Undertake Equality Impact Assessments on new/revised HR Policies, Procedures, and related resources to identify and understand the likely equality impact(s) of the activity, policy, or process, etc., and associated actions.

* Support the development, communication, and implementation of HR projects and activities in support of the University's strategy.

* Contribute to the professional development of the Employee Relations & Policy Team, and wider Directorate, through your functional expertise.

* Co-ordinate responses to surveys, e.g. sector benchmarking.

* Participate in HR, University, and HEI working groups as required

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with hyperlocal, local, and national businesses, stewarding the organisations to become Mustard Tree’s partners, and for us to be their ‘Charity of the Year’, donating to and fundraising for the charity.

You will manage an existing caseload of these valued partners, with the opportunity to proactively create new relationships and partnerships, contacting through multiple channels, creating content, and hosting, touring, and presenting to businesses.

In addition to corporate partnerships, you will manage the recruitment and stewardship of Mustard Tree’s events fundraisers, being responsible for the administration, making sure all places are filled, planning the events, and helping all participants hit their fundraising targets.

Main Duties

Corporate Partnership

• Steward a cohort of existing Corporate Partners through email updates, calls, social media activity and booking monthly check-ins, as well as sharing infographics, case studies, events information, and newsletters when useful.
• Proactively build new relationships, ultimately securing new donors, partners, and ‘Charity of the Year’ organisations. Make it clear and easy for donors to understand what we do, how they can help, and the impact they will have.
• Host, tour, or present at a minimum of four organisations per week.
• Manage inquiries, emails, and queries relating to partnerships, corporate donations, volunteering, and events, ensuring timely responses.
• Manage the partnership inbox and work with the Fundraising team on our corporate bookings calendar.
• Work with the Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator to plan and book Social Value Days for partners and prospective partners.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Communications team to develop and publish copy, advertisements, social media content, and create WordPress pages relevant to Corporate Partnership and Events.
• Host Corporate Partners for their volunteering inductions and debriefs and follow up with a thank-you email the same week.
• Manage data entry and administration surrounding partnerships, including communication, contacts, setting targets, and funds raised, through software and our CRM, for example.
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to assign new and existing partners
• Provide weekly updates on targets and expected income, and work to provide accurate forecasting.

Events Fundraising

• Manage our existing events portfolio of The Great Manchester Run, Tough Mudder, Trafford Abseil, October Half Marathon, being responsible for their success.
• Investigate and develop new events to complement our 12-month calendar.
• Empower organisations to plan independent fundraising events and create a fundraising toolkit to support this.
• Support the running of our October Fundraising Dinner
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to project events income and build a 12-month fundraising pipeline.

General Duties

• Supporting the Fundraising Team et al, including administration, cover, and events attendance when required.
• Support the Fundraising & Finance Teams with data entry, CRM updates, and the creation of KPI data when required.
• Work within health & safety guidelines and Mustard Tree policies and procedures.
• Support other staff and departments, occasionally providing practical relief cover for work-streams, operational areas, classes and clubs.
•  Take responsibility for professional development, attending training courses as required.

A leading London-based higher education institution is seeking an Interim Deputy Finance Director to provide short-term leadership and oversight of its core finance operations, financial accounting, and compliance functions.

We require a hands-on, technically strong finance professional who can ensure the smooth running of day-to-day financial processes, team management, and statutory compliance.

You will report to the Director of Finance & Procurement and manage a team of 13 via four direct reports. This is an ideal assignment for someone with experience, supporting audits, and ensuring financial controls are embedded and working.

About You

• CCAB-qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and compliance
• Proven experience managing finance teams in a complex, regulated environment
• Confident in liaising with auditors, banks, and external advisers
• Comfortable working hands-on to resolve operational issues and ensure process continuity
• Available at short notice and able to quickly integrate into an existing finance function
