As our HyPE Manager you will set up, embed and lead the implementation of Voyage’s Horizons Youth Programme for the Environment, a pioneering employability, mentoring and wellbeing programme combining a weekly Job Club, renewable energy and green-skills training, construction pathways and embedded therapeutic support linked to employment opportunities delivered in partnership with Repowering London, New city College and Talking Quest. 

The postholder will oversee recruitment, delivery and progression impact and outcomes for young people (16–21) from New City College, PRUs, Youth Offending Teams, courts, social workers and local schools, ensuring they are supported into education, apprenticeships, training or work. We are currently exploring expansion possibilities for the long term unemployed, as an alternative to custody and for refugee communities. We seek someone who can help embed the programme in the community college and assist our plans to expand.

The Development Office at Oundle School is looking for Deputy Director of Development who will be instrumental in advancing our philanthropic goals and will support the management and running of its driven and friendly team.

THE ROLE

The Deputy Director of Development will play a key part in helping us achieve our philanthropic goals. This role provides a real opportunity to make a tangible difference: devising and shaping strategy, driving forward our stewardship and legacies programme, building key relationships with major donors, and working closely with the Director of Development on the next advances in this vital area of the school’s work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic relationship manager who is highly motivated, creative, and intellectually curious, with experience of working within a fundraising or relatable field. We are looking for a dedicated colleague who will enjoy working across a vibrant constituency within a beautiful architectural setting to deepen philanthropic relationships between the school and its alumni and parent body.

Overview

The Campaigns and Alumni Relations Office (CAR) at the University of Sheffield is dedicated to inspiring alumni (former students) and supporters to make philanthropic gifts, as well as giving their time and expertise. A donation to the University of Sheffield can change lives, from supporting students in financial need to furthering world-leading research.

As part of the Individual Giving team in CAR, this role encourages people to make gifts of up to £10,000 using a data-driven approach and a range of communication and fundraising channels. The Fundraising Officer will also coordinate our community fundraising and in-memory programme to typically raise over £150,000 per year, as well as project managing direct mail, digital appeals and stewardship communications.

Acting as an advocate for philanthropy, you’ll support and motivate volunteer fundraisers and play a significant role in delivering the University’s flagship fundraising event, the Big Walk. You’ll also support the team to deliver fundraising and donor impact communications using a range of channels (email, print, web and video). On an ad-hoc basis you’ll manage our team of scholarship ambassadors to help engage donors, this may include coordinating small telephone fundraising sessions. 

This role would suit someone who excels at managing relationships and is confident interacting with donors and fundraisers on a daily basis. The successful candidate will also be a skilled project manager and communicator, able to juggle multiple tasks and think creatively to overcome problems.

Main duties and responsibilities

● Plan and deliver key fundraising projects using a range of channels (email, direct mail, events) to make direct asks for support through gifts and community fundraising.

● Ensure that all supporters have an exceptional experience and coordinate activities that demonstrate the impact of philanthropy in a meaningful and personal way to retain all donors.

● Support the wider team with elements of larger, multi-channel appeals. This will include building relationships with beneficiaries, suppliers, copywriting, using our mass email platform and manipulating data to personalise appeals. 

● Deliver community fundraising activities primarily the Big Walk, supported by the Individual Giving Manager and the Communications & Events team.

● Manage relationships with long-standing community fundraisers, as well as supporting ad-hoc fundraisers to maximise donations, showcase the University’s work and raise awareness of philanthropy. Proactively identify opportunities to build the supporter community and increase participation in fundraising.

● Manage relationships with corporate partners capable of sponsoring or participating in our fundraising activities, such as the Big Walk.

● Work with the team of scholarship ambassadors (students who have benefitted from donations) to gather and create content that tells their stories and demonstrates impact to donors.

● Oversee the day-to-day operations of ad-hoc telephone fundraising sessions. Including training and motivating the students, enabling them to make direct asks.

● Coordinate the fundraising team’s shared inbox and phone line, including delegating to other members of the team. Act as a key point of contact for donor and fundraiser enquiries, ensuring each supporter receives the highest level of customer service and

● Ensure that accurate records are maintained on the CRM database, Raiser's Edge and use JustGiving to optimise fundraising. Work with large datasets to personalise appeals and communication approaches, working to a data processing brief.

● Ensure fundraising activity fulfils its regulatory and statutory obligations (GDPR and Fundraising Regulator Code of Conduct) and its obligations for the health and safety of fundraisers and event participants.

● Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

*This role will involve some flexible working for telephone appeals and events, outside of core hours - time off in lieu will be granted.

About the Role

As Legacy Officer, you will manage a proportional share of legacy cases, predominantly comprising residuary, life interest, discretionary and specific legacies, including a small proportion of those which are contentious and identifying and resolving complex case issues.

Depending on experience and any complexities and associated risk to the Charity, you will have autonomy to make decisions daily; including financial decisions associated with estate assets which include properties and investments (which are typically hundreds of thousands and on occasion millions of pounds), enhancing the Sanctuary’s reputation as a good recipient of legacies by building good relationships with professionals, Lay Executors, as well as friends and family involved in each administration. You will be supervised on more complex cases and high value legacies, to progress personal development.

About You

You will have a relevant qualification recognised by the Legacy profession; ILM Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA) or equivalent (STEP or ILEX) and/or significant previous experience of working in legacy administration at an equivalent level and a substantial knowledge of legacy or probate administration.

Ideally you will be proficient in the use of FirstClass 4 and commensurate knowledge of MS Office including Excel and have up to date knowledge of charity law (as it applies to charity legacies), taxes applicable to estates and probate/trust law and processes and data protection relating to charity administration.

We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to vulnerable guests who access the Community Wellbeing Service, a local support hub offering relief from the rising cost of living for local families. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, money management and access to training and employment services. • Develop systems for data collection, tracking, managing and reporting

• As DPO, ensure all personal data and sensitive information is handled within the College according to UK GDPR guidelines
• Draft new and amend existing data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders
• Serve as the main point of contact within the organisation for staff members, regulators, and relevant authorities on issues related to data protection, and provide advice as required.
• Maintain records of all data processing activities within the College
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance and to address potential issues
• Train and advise all staff on compliance and GDPR regulations, how to meet, maintain and improve compliance requirements and the impact of non-compliance on the College. 
• Review College external communication, marketing materials, websites and presentations to ensure compliance with regulations

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

Educated to degree level 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to promote the college

Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines

Ability to multi-task, use initiative and prioritise

Excellent attention to detail with proof-reading skills and decision-making capability

Familiarity with compliance tools and systems

High level IT skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents such as contracts

Experience in a legal, audit or risk management role

§  This role is located at our site in Ware, Hertfordshire; (or hybrid with preferably 2 days on site per week).

The Finance Officer will work within the Finance Department to provide essential day today financial processing, support and advice. The post-holder will be a key member of the team in keeping accurate and up to date records of the organisations financial activities on both the accounting system & associated files.

You’ll be based at the Wildlife Trust’s Head Office at Centre of the Earth, 42 Norman Street, Birmingham, B18 7EP, with some work at our EcoPark site in Small Heath and occasional travel across the region and nationally. 

Key Responsibilities

• Creation and maintenance of processes and systems to ensure the smooth running of the finance function including adding new suppliers and customers to the system
• To be responsible for keeping up to date and accurate records of financial transactions on Excel and the accounting system
• To raise and issue sales invoices, follow up outstanding invoices and resolve any issues.
• To liaise with suppliers and creditors to maintain relationships as part of cash flow management.
• To check and reconcile purchase invoices ready for payment, to investigate and resolve any issues.
• To be responsible for the petty cash system in line with the organisations Financial Procedures.
• To manage the purchase order process ensuring compliance in line with policy.
• To complete regular bank, Petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
• To oversee the credit card processing, ensuring security at all times.
• To ensure all contracts/agreements are central filed and updated on the database.
• To report to statutory bodies such as Entrust
• To support the Director of Finance with the production of finance reports to senior managers on a monthly basis relating to income & expenditure
• To support with the processing of direct debits for membership donations
• To support with ad hoc tasks as the trust requires
• To support the preparation for the annual audit, e.g. stock take reconciliation, fixed asset records, Charity Commission and Companies House checks.
• To run the payroll reports and send to the Director of Finance for review and approval
• Undertake other duties as requested by line manager that contribute to Trust strategies.
