We’re looking for a creative and proactive person to join us as our new Social Media and Content Officer. We’re looking for someone with excellent content creation skills, a strong understanding of social media platforms and trends, and an ability to deploy tactics to ‘stop the scroll’ on our owned content.
As the Social Media and Content Officer, you will be responsible for our social media channels, creating compelling campaigns and content that engage our communities and build support for research into type 1 diabetes (T1D). What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll provide essential administrative support to a new early-intervention mental health service in Ealing, helping clinicians, families, schools and partner agencies work smoothly together to support children and young people.
- Managing referrals, enquiries and appointment coordination for families, schools and professionals

This role will lead on providing advice, inspiration and support for schools looking to develop their school library provision and all the benefits this brings. An expert in school libraries, you will be comfortable supporting members 1:1, delivering training to larger audiences, providing consultancy to schools and sector organisations, writing training and resources, or preparing book recommendations. An exciting opportunity for someone experienced in school libraries with knowledge of the curriculum, teaching and learning and children’s books, you will be the first port of call for library advice and expertise, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the membership network.
You will be experienced in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels relish a busy role. This will include supporting our Branch network, collaborating on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. As resident children’s book expert, you will support with programmes and projects such as the SLA Information Book Award and member book-related events. You will work with your SLA colleagues to develop and deliver high-quality member events and training as well as advocacy events to raise awareness of the importance of school libraries. Using your sector insight, you will identify opportunities for development of initiatives that will support the SLA vision and mission enabling us to reach more children and young people through our work. This is a busy and rewarding role and will suit someone with passion and resilience.

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Officer to ensure the College meets its legal and regulatory compliance requirements as an educational establishment and a charity. The focus of the role is to be responsible, with the support of the Training Administration team, for all reporting to regulatory bodies in a timely manner to ensure the College meets the requirements of the Office for Students (OfS), The Open University (OU), Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI), UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) and other regulatory bodies. The postholder will also take on the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) within the organisation and ensure that the college processes all personal data in compliance with UK data protection legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for reporting internal information and meeting the reporting requirements of regulatory organisations – primarily the Office for Students (OfS), Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the Open University (OU), the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI), Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The Church is the focus of CAP's vision and, as such, we place great importance on how we interact with, equip and support them. This role will help ensure that we fulfil our vision to see Transformed Lives, Thriving Churches and an end to UK poverty. An understanding of the church context of Wales, and a dynamic ability to build relationships that lead to partnerships that help outwork our vision is vital. In time, we also expect the role to develop relationships with Government, statutory bodies and the third sector, and to develop partnership opportunities there as they arise. The National Leader Wales role also exists to serve our partner churches through excellent support of our existing church partners. Responsibilities
- The National Leader is responsible for creating a national development plan and collaborating with the Head of Devolved Nations to ensure plans are aligned with CAP's mission, built into wider CAP strategy and facilitating the delivery of impactful community services.
- The National Leader will engage with local congregations, denominations and Christian movements in Wales to link them with the mission of CAP.
- The National Leader will seek opportunities and partners to achieve a net growth of our church partnerships of debt centres and coaching services by 3 each year so that the Welsh network reaches a sustainable size.
- The National Leader will develop relationships and seek partnership opportunities with Government, Statutory bodies and the third sector.
- The National Leader is responsible for the management and development of existing church partnerships within Wales, supporting the existing network of 10 CAP centres/services.
- Lead the CAP team across Wales, inspiring and equipping CAP Local Workers and church leaders to bring CAP's vision to life within their communities, and linking them with our support hub teams, to deliver against CAP's goal 'To inspire and equip the UK Church to help people out of poverty and become followers of Jesus'.
Partnership & Representation
- Work with the Head of Devolved Nations to be the key CAP representative within Wales, engaging with churches, denominational leaders and movements, fostering valuable partnerships.
- Working with our Mission and Movement teams to engage with the wider Welsh network of churches, denominations and movements.
- Attend and speak at some of the centre launch talks and other appropriate opportunities to promote CAP within the nation.
- Work closely with the Partnership Development team to agree a national strategy for opening new centres/services, and to actively seek opportunities for the openings of new services, and to identify organic growth from existing partner churches.
- To seek a net growth of 3 services and centres annually.
- To engage with and to represent CAP on national bodies or to government departments in Wales (e.g. the Senedd).
- To be proactive in building strategic partnerships with Government, statutory and third sector bodies.
- Lead/ support relationships with organisations located within Wales (e.g. utility providers, council officials etc).
- In partnership with Mission and Movement and in line with our referrals strategy; build relationships and promote the work of CAP with referral agencies at a national level to increase the number of people seeking CAP's help
- Support and/or be the key spokesperson for CAP in regional/national media.
Leadership of services and Local CAP Workers
- Actively participate in cultivating and inspiring a thriving CAP culture across the Welsh network, empowering CAP Local teams through clear and compelling communication.
- Champion CAP's mission of evangelism and discipleship, ensuring its centrality in all CAP activities. Work with the Head of Mission, Evangelism & Discipleship and Head of Devolved Nations to develop the overall MED strategy for Wales.

• This will include:
• Assess the needs of individuals attending / contacting the service and identify the required level of intervention.
• Support users sensitively to help them understand clinical information they have been given (e.g. around diagnosis, treatment, effects of the illness and treatment, cancer terminology), helping to resolve situations where users feel they have been given conflicting information. You will line manage the Director of Legal Casework to oversee the provision of supportive and enabling leadership to Asylum Aid caseworkers so that they can continue to deliver high quality expert advice in complex cases, while being supported in their professional development and wellbeing. You will also manage and develop the work of our welfare advice team within the Westminster Advice Services Partnership and beyond, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the sector to build capacity and increase our impact.
The ideal candidate, who may be legally qualified, will have experience of leadership in the charity/NGO sector and a sound understanding of the asylum, human rights and trafficking processes in the UK and the legal frameworks which govern the protection of refugees, survivors of trafficking and stateless people, and of the role of law in achieving system change.

Leadership and strategy

·Support the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Facilities team to ensure the smooth running of the office and that the facilities meet the needs of Asylum Aid;
·Work outside normal office hours as required and travel in order to carry out the responsibilities of the post.
·To undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge
•Experience of running a small to medium sized charity/legal NGO and/or legal department within the NGO sector (or other equivalent senior management role);
•Demonstrable experience of managing and leading a successful team and the ability to manage a growing team with mixed roles from team supervisors to administrative support staff, working co-operatively with colleagues to maintain transparency and effective working relationships within the team;
•Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds
•Strong understanding of good governance including legal, regulatory and financial responsibilities;
•Ability to work with a range of stakeholders from trustees to external partners;
•Experience of leading and/or participating in organisational strategic planning;
·Experience of legal policy work within the human rights field and /or of strategic litigation, whether as an NGO claimant or legal representative;
•Experience of managing diverse funding sources and setting and implementing budgets;
•Experience of working in a service delivery partnership with other organisations;
•Experience of fundraising, especially grants from trusts and foundations;
•Sound working knowledge of the law and policy as it relates to immigration, asylum, human rights and modern slavery/trafficking;
•Demonstrable understanding of the asylum and human rights sector in the UK;
•An understanding of the barriers migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers face regarding access to legal advice, reasons why they may become destitute and why this makes it more difficult to access advice and support; and
•The passion for working empathetically and supportively with migrants, refugees, stateless people and asylum seekers.
Desirable Experience
·Experience of managing the delivery of frontline casework with people in the asylum or trafficking systems
·Experience of tendering for and delivering publicly funded contracts e.g. LAA or local authority funding;
·Working knowledge of Legal Aid Agency contracts, including the delivery of casework and billing under a legal aid contract in the immigration and asylum category and/or the public law category;

Selection Process
We will invite candidates to an initial online interview on Tuesday 10th or Wednesday 11th February, followed by shortlisted candidates attending in-person interviews at our office in Old Street on Tuesday 24th or Wednesday 25th February.
We offer a guaranteed initial interview for refugees, stateless people and others with lived experience of forced migration, provided that they provide some evidence of relevant experience or skills in relation to the essential criteria.

Eligibility
Please note that the successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK (as a small charity we do not have the capacity to sponsor work visas).
Successful candidates will also be subject to a basic DBS check. If appointed, you will also be required to give your consent to the charity to receive regular updates on your criminal records status throughout your employment and to disclose any relevant convictions incurred during your time with us.
