The Operations Manager is responsible for Dose of Nature’s day-to-day operational management, providing a welcoming and efficient front face and ensuring organisational effectiveness to support the delivery of Dose of Nature’s strategic objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic team player to join our warm and friendly charity team on a full-time basis for a period of one year, with the possibility of a part-time position thereafter. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase as we continue to receive greater funding to expand our reach. The nature of the job responsibilities may require occasional flexible hours, including some evening and weekend hours up to 6 times per year, or adjusted beginning and ending times, for example to support with monthly evening training sessions. 

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature. We deliver ‘nature prescriptions’ to people referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Our Dose of Nature Prescription Programme is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature, and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing. Dose of Nature is a fun, supportive and lively organisation that encourages creativity and independence, as well as a strong sense of working together as a team. 

The role is 37.5 hours per week and will involve working at Pensford Field, Kew, Monday to Wednesday from 9am-5:30pm and from home Thursday and Friday 9-5:30pm.

Key responsibilities and duties 

• To oversee the smooth running of the studio and field, ensuring Dose of Nature’s operational systems, processes and policies are fit-for-purpose, compliant with current legal requirements and are maintained effectively and efficiently. 

• To be the initial point of contact for all enquiries, responding quickly and efficiently to requests for information and other enquiries from a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, volunteer guides and trustees, health professionals, supporters, media, and academic institutions. 

• To be the main point of contact for volunteer guides; leading all aspects of the recruitment and induction process with the support from our Senior Administrator; and providing guidance and support to existing guides – including management of the on-going training programme. 

• To manage the programme of regular group sessions – ensuring volunteer group leaders and participants have the support they need so the sessions run smoothly; ensuring volunteer group leaders and participants have the support they need so the sessions run smoothly; ensuring dedicated support is in place for each group and proactively managing the seasonal timetable. 

• To assist the team in monitoring performance, including preparing internal and external performance reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 

• To manage and oversee the booking system for all client appointments and to support psychologists as appropriate. 

• To manage communication and marketing materials, including maintenance of website, developing and updating printed materials including promotional leaflets, training booklets, and weekly timetable communication emails and bi-annual newsletters. Work with Senior Administrator to distribute regular communications and materials and to maintain a dynamic collection of digital copy including photos, videos and media footage. 

• To lead community relationship building for Dose of Nature, to include attending promotional and networking events from time to time. 

• To assist the Chief Executive in the implementation and continued development of the Growth Strategy, including providing regular updates to trustees. 

• To manage the internship and work experience programmes – overseeing recruitment, giving clear guidance on standards and day-to-day management support. 

• To ensure statutory compliance with Health and Safety legislation – conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures. 

• To plan and coordinate regular Dose of Nature community social events, including two half day events and monthly evening events and AGM. 

• To monitor monthly spend and budgets including payment of expenses and incoming donations. 

Person specification 

Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent 

Preferred experience (please see * below): 

• Experience of setting-up and managing operational systems and processes 

• Experiencing of collating, recording and presenting performance data

This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership and supervision to a number of therapeutic services within Richmond Borough Mind. Our developed and respected Psychotherapy and Counselling Service has been providing long-term counselling interventions to local residents since 1988. The service is self-funded and offers a range of therapies which aim to provide individuals with the support and opportunity to work through their difficulties in depth with a skilled and experienced trainee or fully qualified therapist. Sliding scale rates are offered to make sure that we are accessible to all. We are looking for a skilled and qualified (or in advance training) counselling supervisor to provide clinical supervision, leadership, management and service development of our Psychotherapy and Counselling service. We are looking to recruit two additional project officers mainly to help deliver our Live Love Later Life and Healthsmart services whilst providing organisational and administrative support to help these run smoothly.

An exercise qualification and experience of delivering health checks are highly desirable. However, if you do not hold these qualifications you will need to undergo a chair-based exercise qualification and blood pressure training. Applicants need to be willing to undergo this training. They also need to have the confidence and enthusiasm to deliver exercise to groups of older people whilst motivating participants that may have a variety of physical and cognitive challenges. These attributes will be assessed through a task during the interview process.

About the opportunity
As our Digital Marketing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Marketing Manager and broader team in volunteer and school recruitment efforts, while managing our social media presence. Your primary responsibilities will include managing and curating content for Action Tutoring's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.

In addition to social media management, you will contribute to the creation of diverse content, such as graphics, videos, and photography, with occasional visits to our school programmes and events. You will also monitor and report on the impact of our social media campaigns, staying abreast of industry trends to optimise our digital presence.

Duties and responsibilities
• Responsibility for managing Action Tutoring’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube). Plan content (in collaboration with wider Marketing and Communications team) in line with the charity’s wider campaigns, volunteer recruitment rounds and key messages, ensuring regular diverse posting.
• Work with the Marketing Manager to develop engaging content which encourages the recruitment of high quality volunteer tutors, enquiries from potential partner schools and raises awareness of the charity to potential fundraisers, donors and employees.
• Promote the breadth of Action Tutoring’s activities and projects on social media, working across the whole team to gather content to raise brand awareness (including Programme, Philanthropy, Operations, Policy and Impact).
• Contribute to the development of content for social media channels including graphics, video and photography, with the occasional visit to school programmes and other charity events.
• Regularly analyse and report on the impact of Action Tutoring’s social media content through weekly analysis, quarterly reporting and campaign analysis.
• Monitor social media trends and industry developments to ensure we’re maximising content across all channels.
• Lead on blogger, influencer and community outreach (e.g. Facebook community groups, Next Door) to help raise awareness of Action Tutoring's volunteering opportunities and encourage applications.
• Manage our national digital adverts (such as Indeed, CharityJobs, Do-It). Respond to any direct enquiries sent through these and other digital platforms, including the Volunteer Facebook Group and Google business.
• Identify national digital advertising opportunities for volunteer and school marketing, and support with content for regional adverts. Work with the Marketing Manager to analyse impact and decide where our budget is best spent.
• Support the day to day management of Action Tutoring’s website, editing content with updates upon request. Support with creating high quality, engaging content for the Action Tutoring website to ensure it’s optimised.
• Create external marketing materials on request and support with ad-hoc visual design work.
• Support with the attendance at volunteering promotion events, mainly university fairs.
• Any other duties deemed reasonable by the Chief Executive Officer.

Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors (London) - £29,000  per annum plus London Weighting (pro-rata)

Here at One Million Mentors, our aim is to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. We believe that investing in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion.

This is one of two Regional Manager roles in London; a Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors, and Regional Manager for Programme Delivery.

The Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors focuses on mentor supply, securing sufficient volunteers primarily for London and also for 1MM’s national outreach. It’s the perfect role for a candidate whose passions and strengths align with large scale outreach for volunteers so that no young people on those programmes miss out.

The role is responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors, in London and nationally. This includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, and oversight of some corporate programmes. Also to consider safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline in line with 1MM’s aspirations for 2024 and beyond.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by helping establish over 150 new, high quality mentoring matches each quarter. (A match means that the mentor and the mentee have completed 1MM’s training and have had their first meeting)

• Meeting all quality assurance KPIs.

• Maximising conversion, retention, and mitigate drop-off

• Providing ongoing support for key stakeholder partners, including Employers, and maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing at least one new partner per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to users.

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

• Potential for line-management responsibilities as the team grows.

Terms and Conditions: This is a full time role offered in London, for 6 months (continuing subject to funding). This is a hybrid role with two days working at home, two days in the London office, and one day where it is up to you.

Remuneration and benefits: Salary bracket of £29,000 per annum plus London Weighting (pro rata), up to 6.5% employer pension contribution and 25 days holiday per year (pro rata).  We also offer monthly team Learning and Development training sessions, and 15 hours volunteering allowance per year.

The Meridian One Community Garden serves as a space where we focus on cultivating fruit, salad, and vegetable produce. We involve the local community by hosting weekly volunteer gardening sessions, welcoming school visits, and organising various community events.

TCV is seeking a Senior Project Officer with expertise in community engagement, event coordination, and managing community facilities. The garden, which was established one year ago, encompasses facilities such as an office, a community meeting/education room, toilets, and a spacious polytunnel.

The Senior Project Officer will oversee a range of tasks including planning and executing community events, maintaining site Health & Safety, leading volunteers in practical projects like building wooden planters, tending to garden plants, and ensuring timely completion of administrative duties such as procurement, risk assessments, social media updates, and task reporting. They will also lead activities for the under 5’s Nature Explorers group, school visits, themed evening events, and family weekends. Additionally, they'll organise corporate volunteering sessions and cover holiday shifts for the Green Gym gardening program. Previous events have included 'Pampering and Enrichment,' 'Repurpose, Recycle, Reinvent' workshops, and a Black Women in Conservation and Horticulture photo exhibition, as well as our weekend family events featuring free food, music, and arts and crafts activities.

This role involves being friendly and open to various people who visit, from the toddlers attending the Nature Explorers club, to our volunteer gardeners, to senior staff from the local authority. There are two other people working part-time at the garden, and TCV provides thorough training and support from a helpful local team.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience of gardening and/or nature conservation. However, what’s equally important is that the Senior Project Officer has initiative, is welcoming, and comfortable working with a wide range people. We’d therefore welcome applications from candidates who can display those personable qualities, with perhaps experience of working in a community centre setting.

In Spring 2024, TCV will be taking on the management of an additional nearby meanwhile space. The new Senior Project Officer will join us at an exciting time when we begin to turn that space into a new community tree nursery. Working with local people to gather seeds from significant trees in the surrounding area, we aim to grow saplings which will go on to be distributed for planting around London.

Working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Given the nature of the role the Senior Project Officer will need to work from the garden during these times. Occasionally, to avoid lone working in the absence of another colleague, there will be the opportunity to work from home. Weekend family events take place on Saturdays, four times a year and there are approximately six evening events which take place between April to September. This post holder would be expected to attend those evening and weekend events.
