The Office and Services Coordinator (OSC) plays a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across The Winch and Belsize Community Library. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for delivering a warm and welcoming front-of-house experience for visitors, including children, young people, staff, tenants, and contractors. Your main responsibilities will include managing room hire bookings to ensure a positive customer experience, overseeing ordering supplies and managing equipment and handling queries, phone calls, and mail correspondence with professionalism. · To develop and deliver a youth mentoring programme that is meaningful and positive.

· To work alongside the R-evolution bike team to develop and deliver a bike mechanics education programme.

The successful post holder must have:

• A relevant professional qualification in Youth & Community work (Level 3 or above).

• Be self-motivated, resilient, with excellent organisational/administrative and inter-personal skills.

As our Dementia Coordinator, you’ll lead the development and coordination of dementia-focused activities, working closely with volunteers, carers, and local partners. Your work will help create a supportive, connected community where people living with dementia feel valued and engaged.

Our Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST)  groups are where group members who are living with dementia and other cognitive impairments can participate in meaningful and stimulating activities, proven to help maintain memory and mental function. The groups provide a fun, supportive environment where people can build new relationships. MCST Activities include discussions, word games, quizzes, physical activities and creative and musical activities.

Our monthly Memory Cafés offers a relaxed, informal setting for people with dementia and their family, friends and carers to get together. The Memory Cafés provides a mixture of talks, information and advice, entertainment and activities

• Lead the delivery of our dementia groups including MCST sessions and our Dementia cafes, with support from volunteers.

The Head of Operations will be part of the senior leadership team and support the CEO in the leadership, management and day-to-day operations of Sound Minds. Our Volunteer Experience Team supports all administration activities relating to volunteering good practice throughout the SSAFA volunteer journey, with a specific focus on recruitment and retention of volunteers.

Legal Aid is a lifeline to many people who need legal advice but can’t afford a lawyer. This vital role will manage the billing and related administration of our Legal Aid Contracts in Housing Law, Family Law, and our Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (HLPAS). The role will primarily focus on:-

• Managing the billing process for our Legal Aid contracts.
• Preparing case files for licensed work and inter partes billing
• Liaising with cost lawyers to ensure prompt preparation of licensed work billing & inter partes bills
• Facilitating the costs recovery process where costs have been awarded
• Preparing and submitting LAA returns for controlled work – Legal Help, HLPAS In Court Duty Scheme, HLPAS Early Legal advice and escape fee cases.

You will come with experience of preparing and processing legal aid billing and private billing; experience of using the Legal Aid Agency portal; excellent skills in IT; strong interpersonal skills and an ordered approach to your work.

With oversight by the Director of Science and Regulatory Affairs, you will support the collection, preparation, organisation, and use of the Science team’s key information resources which contribute to ensuring that our work and external communications are underpinned by accurate and robust evidence.

You will support the Science team in inputting to marketing and fundraising efforts as well the preparation of press releases and other forms of external communication. Your work will contribute to ensuring that the organisation’s advocacy, media and supporter communications are based on accurate, evidence-based science.

You will also work with the organisation’s press and media function to help maintain the quality of media coverage relating to animal testing and animal-free science. In collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners you will work to support research and contribute to the production of high-quality scientific material which can be used to advance the agenda to end all animal testing, including through the provision of the organisation’s digital education service.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of key Science team information resources which underpin our work and provide support for their use across the organisation. This includes responsibility for maintaining a well-organised central knowledge base to ensure our work is easily tracked, accessed and referenced.
• Support and input into research and contribute to the production of high-quality scientific material, including briefings, reports, presentations, posters, and summaries of the latest developments to support the Science team’s work. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely press releases and support increased media coverage for our organisation.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of up-to-date briefings for internal and external use on emerging trends and latest developments in non-animal approaches, as well as helping to maintain the organisation’s specialist expertise in key regulatory toxicology topics.

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, oversight and curation to the FYT Leadership Team, and to lead the smooth running of the FYT Organisation which supports the wider FYT Movement. This will include coordinating the delivery of the strategic plan, leading fundraising, and working closely with the FYT Board to oversee the smooth running of the organisation.

• The Leadership Team is supported by a contract with Giraffe HR that assists in the day to day running of the organisation, primarily managing the finances of the organisation.
• Engagement in ongoing, regular youth work with marginalised young people is not a requirement of this post, but encouraged. FYT will be flexible where possible in order to facilitate this.

Overall purpose of the role …

• To provide wide-ranging administrative support to the Head of Publishing Development and Commissioning Editor.
• To provide routine administration of the Society’s online submission and tracking system.
• To prepare book titles for production by ensuring all necessary information is present, including manuscript files, author information and necessary permissions for secondary-source content.
• To collate relevant data and conduct project-based research to guide colleagues and external editors on editorial and business decisions and to drive development.

• Assess manuscripts for any content that may require written permission for reuse, and work with authors and editors to ensure this is provided ahead of the article being ready for production. Record any outliers that may impact future licencing.
• Support the Society’s publishing permissions workflow by fielding, assessing and responding to requests, and liaising with colleagues, as necessary

3. In collaboration with colleagues, work to ensure the effective and efficient operation of workflows connecting editorial and production teams by providing general administrative support to editorial and production staff.

• Monitor page extents for new submissions and books nearing production and communicate outlying cases to editors and colleagues 
• Calculate length estimates of books nearing production
• Complete prompt and accurate upload of accepted articles to the production management system within timeframes
• Initiate production process and support flow of relevant information (editorial to production) within agreed timescale, including keeping of accurate notes on manuscript information within Editorial Manager

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with hyperlocal, local, and national businesses, stewarding the organisations to become Mustard Tree’s partners, and for us to be their ‘Charity of the Year’, donating to and fundraising for the charity.

You will manage an existing caseload of these valued partners, with the opportunity to proactively create new relationships and partnerships, contacting through multiple channels, creating content, and hosting, touring, and presenting to businesses.

In addition to corporate partnerships, you will manage the recruitment and stewardship of Mustard Tree’s events fundraisers, being responsible for the administration, making sure all places are filled, planning the events, and helping all participants hit their fundraising targets.

Main Duties

Corporate Partnership

• Steward a cohort of existing Corporate Partners through email updates, calls, social media activity and booking monthly check-ins, as well as sharing infographics, case studies, events information, and newsletters when useful.
• Proactively build new relationships, ultimately securing new donors, partners, and ‘Charity of the Year’ organisations. Make it clear and easy for donors to understand what we do, how they can help, and the impact they will have.
• Host, tour, or present at a minimum of four organisations per week.
• Manage inquiries, emails, and queries relating to partnerships, corporate donations, volunteering, and events, ensuring timely responses.
• Manage the partnership inbox and work with the Fundraising team on our corporate bookings calendar.
• Work with the Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator to plan and book Social Value Days for partners and prospective partners.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Communications team to develop and publish copy, advertisements, social media content, and create WordPress pages relevant to Corporate Partnership and Events.
• Host Corporate Partners for their volunteering inductions and debriefs and follow up with a thank-you email the same week.
• Manage data entry and administration surrounding partnerships, including communication, contacts, setting targets, and funds raised, through software and our CRM, for example.
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to assign new and existing partners
• Provide weekly updates on targets and expected income, and work to provide accurate forecasting.

Events Fundraising

• Manage our existing events portfolio of The Great Manchester Run, Tough Mudder, Trafford Abseil, October Half Marathon, being responsible for their success.
• Investigate and develop new events to complement our 12-month calendar.
• Empower organisations to plan independent fundraising events and create a fundraising toolkit to support this.
• Support the running of our October Fundraising Dinner
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to project events income and build a 12-month fundraising pipeline.

General Duties

• Supporting the Fundraising Team et al, including administration, cover, and events attendance when required.
• Support the Fundraising & Finance Teams with data entry, CRM updates, and the creation of KPI data when required.
• Work within health & safety guidelines and Mustard Tree policies and procedures.
• Support other staff and departments, occasionally providing practical relief cover for work-streams, operational areas, classes and clubs.
•  Take responsibility for professional development, attending training courses as required.
• Lead by example, embodying Mustard Tree values and representing the charity as required.
• Contribute towards being an environmentally responsible organisation as part of day-to-day activities, including recycling and supporting our ‘paper-light’ practices.

• Experience in fundraising, sales and/or account management.

Overview

High energy costs are a nightmare for millions of UK households, while huge profits are made at our expense. Poor housing and heating systems are a key part of the problem, along with dependence on polluting, climate-changing fossil fuels. FPA is a campaigning organisation that sets out to attack the root causes of fuel poverty along with the specific injustices facing people and communities. We want to see the UK’s energy system decarbonised as rapidly as possible, with a just transition for communities and workers.that includes affordability. 

Working closely with pensioners groups, trades unions, disabled campaigners, tenants’ organisations and others on the frontline of fuel poverty, we’re using protest and direct action to fight for real, sustainable solutions to the cold homes crisis. We are looking for a committed senior organiser, who shares our passion and values, to bring energy and imagination to developing our base and supporting our members to build their power.

About the role

Fuel Poverty Action (FPA) was started in 2011 by climate activists who wanted to ensure that the green energy transition doesn’t happen at the expense of those with less social and economic power. Rather, they saw the break with fossil fuels as an opportunity to end the scourge of fuel poverty in the UK - a chance to rethink priorities and design inequality out of the energy system.

Immediately, they were drawn into community-based struggles for energy justice, against false, profit-driven solutions and maladministration of ‘green’ measures with no accountability to tenants and residents.

Over the years others joined the fight, growing FPA to a small membership-led organisation comprising people at the sharp end of fuel poverty - people of all ages and backgrounds, mainly located in London. Since 2022, funding has enabled us to employ a small, dispersed team who are accountable to directors and a membership that is now UK-wide. 

We are now looking for an experienced, senior organiser to help FPA grow and evolve our membership network further. We want to reach more people and support members to be active within FPA so that we can build our political impact and remain meaningfully member-led. 

We are seeking a flexible person with significant leadership experience who will be confident working as part of a small team, capable of outward facing work and internal management. You will have experience of organising in collective campaigns,  including digitally, and a background in grassroots or community-based action, with a strong commitment to inclusive and anti-oppressive practice.

As the Organising Lead, you will join our Campaigns Lead and Operations Lead as the third pillar of our self-managing Coordination Team. While line-managing other colleagues and enabling the contributions of members who are unpaid, you will yourself be a member of FPA, and answerable to the group. 

We use the digital platform Action Network to run campaigns and communicate with FPA supporters. Our ideal candidate would have the skills to incorporate ladders, tags and custom fields into our digital campaigns to maximise online to offline impact and convert list growth into membership. They would also actively maintain relationships with existing members who are not always confident with online communication tools. 

There is a lot of scope to bring new ideas and perspectives to shape our work.

Strategy development: Leading on creation of a new membership growth and retention strategy in collaboration with existing members

Growing our base: Boosting in-person recruitment and using Action Network to build a digital pipeline into membership

Communications: Ensuring members are connected and informed through one-to-one calls, emails, members’ section of the website, WhatsApp groups and other platforms. 

Member development: Building one-to-one relationships with members, understanding their interests, linking them to opportunities and providing feedback and follow-up

Member activation: Supporting members to participate in our own and allies’ events, actions and mobilisations, digitally and on the ground

Speaker invitations: Representing FPA at events and in media as well as supporting members to do so

Capacity building and training: Providing tools, advice and training to members and supporters, including to FPA’s local groups in Glasgow, Manchester and London

Administration: Managing onboarding systems and securely maintaining records

Organisational management: As part of the self-managing Coordination Team

Line management: Providing light touch management for one or more colleagues

Online meetings: Including prospective member induction interviews and regular members’ meetings which you organise and facilitate

About You

Essential requirements. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• links and ongoing relationships with networks and movements with similar aims or values to Fuel Poverty Action

• experience of horizontal organisations and ways to promote staff wellbeing and sustainable remote working 

Compensation Policy 

We’ll compensate team members on the following basis:

• All salaried team members are contracted on the same terms and conditions

• We have a 30 hour week maximum for all team members - most commonly worked as 4 x 7.5 hour days

• Team members are paid an equitable and sustainable compensation rate which is the pro rate equivalent to a full-time (5 day) salary of £40-45,000, regardless of role or level of experience

• Our compensation rates have been set following Platform’s best practice Social Justice Waging System:

Annual salary (30 hours per week):

• Band 1 - No dependents or children and inherited wealth: £32,000 

• Band 2 - One or more children or dependents and inherited wealth OR No inherited wealth but no children or dependents: £34,000
