About The Role 

The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, the Community Builders will play a vital role in helping to improve lives for Armed Forces Community members by creating a supportive environment that allows them to re-engage and connect with the services at Help for Heroes and with the wider community. 

The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.

About You

You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC 

• Develop and embed an ABCD informed way of work 

• Asset map 

• Organise and facilitate community meetings to share ideas, encourage collective decision making and build a sense of belonging 

• Encourage and pilot community lead action in response to local AFC needs/interests through peer led/co-designed initiatives

PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidates will need to be based within an hour’s commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). Flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying. 

We are looking for someone with the following: 

• A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience working within a community development or similar role, with responsibility for bringing about social change and improving quality of life 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships which lead to actions  

• Demonstrable experience within an integrated multi-disciplinary service  

• Experience of engaging and working collaboratively with partners/stakeholders 

About the Team 

You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

Business in the Community (BITC) is looking for an individual based close to the M62 Corridor of the North West region – to develop our next place to operationalise its Community Climate Fund. Join a team setting up our Community Climate Fund (CCF), that aims to raise £100m and be actively supporting community climate action in 25 places across the UK by 2030. This is an exciting opportunity to identify and deliver a plan in a place (e.g. Salford, an area in Manchester, Warrington or Wigan) to have a positive social, environmental and economic impact for the communities there.

The Community Climate Fund Senior Lead, will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the fund in the vicinity of the M62 corridor and will:

• Increase resilience to economic and environmental shocks
• Strengthen community coherence and wellbeing
• Accelerate progress towards net zero

The role will involve:

• Identifying and developing our next place in the North West of England to operationalize our Community Climate Fund.

Churches Conservation Trust is the national charity protecting historic churches at risk, ensuring they are enjoyed as social, tourism, educational and cultural resources, kept open, in use, and living once again in the heart of their communities.

As a Conservation Projects Manager and a key member of the national Conservation team, you will work with experienced consultants and skilled craftspeople, with national and regional colleagues, volunteers, local partners and stakeholders to develop and manage a range of holistic, conservation and new use projects, from inception to completion, and providing professional advice and support to community led projects.  You will lead on all capital, conservation and maintenance, programmes in the region.

You will have expertise and specialist knowledge in the field of historic building repair and conservation, and a proven track record of project management (client side) in the heritage sector. You might be a Building Surveyor, a Conservation Architect, an Estate Manager, or a Project Manager, in this continually varied and unique role you will be working on some of the most significant historic buildings in the country. As CTA's Business Development Manager, your role involves increasing the uptake of MiDAS training and growing CTA membership. To do this you will need to have/develop an in-depth knowledge of the sector, be able to conduct your own research, develop relationships with our key stakeholders, and track performance metrics.

Promoting CTA services, increasing uptake, and retention.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing members, ensuring their satisfaction and engagement to retain our existing membership.
• Develop and foster relationships with local authorities, umbrella organisations, charities, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders across the UK to promote CTA membership offerings.
• This will include creating a promotional package for CTA membership to be delivered to organisations across the UK.

Business Development at Refugee Council

The Refugee Council is a leading UK organisation working with people seeking asylum and refugees to enable them to live with safety, dignity and to rebuild their lives. Our operational teams are based across England providing advice and specialist support to people on issues that impact their refugee protection journey: navigating the complex asylum system; addressing homelessness and poverty; accessing health care, education, and employment.

The Business Development Manager (Interim) is a pivotal role supporting our services to provide high quality, sustainable support with people seeking asylum and refugees. This is a new role within the Noah’s Ark Charity, which will grow our regional community fundraising presence and offering. The postholder will know the West Wales area well and will become the expert in fundraising opportunities within the region, building strong relationships within the community, including low-mid level corporates and will develop supporter-led activity. The postholder will plan for and deliver income for the charity within the region, in line with wider fundraising strategy.

Job Role: To promote Forces Employment Charity Ex Forces Programme across the UK and provide employability and employment support for veterans in order that they find appropriate sustainable employment, or another Preferred Vocational Outcome.

 The role reports to Ex Forces Employment Manager. This position is permanent Full-time, 35 hours per week, with a salary of £28,325. The successful candidate will be Home based, with local and regional travel.  Ex Forces Employment Consultant will spend an average of 30% of their time networking within their region.

Principal Responsibilities:

 · Provide advice and guidance to support veterans into employment.

· Develop links with local and regional businesses and business forums to develop relationships with Corporate Mentors and to provide enhanced local level employment opportunities, working collaboratively with Employer Relationship Managers (ERMs).

· Facilitate veterans to access suitable training courses, funding and work placements.

· Post and maintain an exemplar professional LinkedIn profile and engage with appropriate content from FEC and partner organisations.

· Link with local and regional Ex-Armed Forces support agencies initiatives to create a flow of veterans requiring employment support.  This will include as a minimum creating working relationships with Armed Forces Charities and DWP and regional Armed Forces Champions (including Armed Forces Covenant groups).

· Contribute to FEC’s online community engaging veterans with the self-help tools and Corporate Mentors.

· Attend all CTP Employment Fairs in your region as an exhibitor.  Publicise the role of FEC in supporting veteran employment.

· Co-ordinate with partner charities and refer clients to support as identified by their needs assessment.

· Manage client caseload on our CRM system, in accordance with work instructions.

· Represent the values and professional expertise of FEC to all external audiences.

· The 30% networking time will involve attending partner meetings, employment events and collaboration with other charities/agencies that specialise in support to veterans.  The time spent doing this will be captured on our CRM and will be measurable.

· Undertake other actions as required by the Ex-Forces Employment Manager.

· Empathy with Armed Forces personnel and an understanding of the challenges they face.

· Strong networking skills and the enthusiasm and ability to create relationships that will support the work of FEC.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.

This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.

You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver an excellent experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.

The North & East of Scotland is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from hospitals across the region, and our Home from Home, ‘Ciaran’s House’ in Edinburgh, enables families to stay close to their loved one for free during treatment, so building relationships with these teams are a must.

Candidates should live within North & East Scotland, in one of the following counties: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Clackmannanshire, Dundee, Edinburgh & the Lothians, Fife, Highland, Inverness, Moray or Perth & Kinross. The role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in establishing and developing Global Greengrants Fund UK’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) work. The new role of MEAL Officer will undertake high-quality data management and analysis to produce key learnings on the outcomes of GGF’s grantmaking and other programmatic activity, as well as leading system improvements to our evolving monitoring, evaluation and learning framework in collaboration with global colleagues. They will be providing support to the emerging global learning function, and the role will support the delivery of learning activities across our network to develop clear briefs, learnings and findings that can be used by other functions, including the Communications and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to strengthen the organisation’s external and internal engagement and knowledge sharing activities. This will include developing appropriate methodologies and tools to collate, validate, summarise, analyse and report on key trends within our grantmaking using and improving on a range of data sources including grantee application forms and reports. Working as part of the UK Programme Support function and reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the post holder will also collaborate closely with colleagues across the global organisation Global Greengrants Fund, particularly within the Programmes, Communications, and Learning teams towards realising organisational aims.

The candidate profile
The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They will be an experienced, senior-level specialist with a strong track record in data collection, monitoring and analysis, with good working knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, tools and systems, and in using this information to evaluate and recommend adaptations, and in reporting. Higher-level qualifications/certification in a relevant field, post-graduate qualification would be a distinct advantage, particularly in the social sciences and/or use of mixed method approaches. They will have demonstrated experience authoring MEAL related reports, either organisational reports or academic publications; demonstrated ability to coordinate and improve the process of data collection, analysis and reporting and demonstrated experience in managing datasets, databases, programming, and other analysis software. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and be confident in engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. They have exceptional organisational and research abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy, including analysing large amounts of information from disparate sources. They should have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship building, and interpersonal skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies.
