We're the UK's specialist blood cancer charity and our vision is clear: we’re here to beat blood cancer. We fund world-class research; provide information and support to patients and their loved ones; and raise awareness of blood cancer.

We are recruiting two Policy and Public Affairs Officers to join our Policy and Influencing team at Blood Cancer UK. One role will be based in London and focus on policy and public affairs activity across England and Wales, while the other will be based in Edinburgh and lead our work in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Both roles will play a vital part in ensuring that the voices of people affected by blood cancer are heard by decision-makers and that evidence-based solutions influence governments, health systems and policymakers across the UK.

Working as part of a collaborative UK-wide team, you will develop evidence-based policy positions, build and maintain relationships with parliamentarians, government officials and health stakeholders, and produce high-quality briefings and consultation responses. You will also represent Blood Cancer UK at meetings, events and stakeholder forums, helping to influence policy and drive meaningful change for people affected by blood cancer.

This role will require regular travel within your respective nations (England and Wales or Scotland and Northern Ireland) to attend meetings, events and stakeholder engagement activities. In addition, there will be occasional travel across the UK, including to London, Cardiff, or Edinburgh, Belfast and other locations, to support cross-UK influencing activity, team meetings and organisational events.

Contract: Permanent, part-time contract.

Hours: 21 Hours, 3 days per week.

Salary: £20,000 - £23,000

Location: Hybrid, anchored to the Cardiff Carers Trust office 1 day a week. Flexibility to work from other Carers Trust’s offices around the UK when needed.

Working as part of the Wales team, the postholder will lead communications and marketing activity for both funds, ensuring carers’ stories, programme impact and opportunities for support are effectively communicated across Wales. The role will play a key part in building awareness, engaging stakeholders and delivery partners, and showcasing the difference these programmes make to unpaid carers’ lives.

The postholder will work closely with External Affairs colleagues in Wales and the UK-wide Communications and Marketing team to develop engaging digital content, media coverage, publications and social media activity. They will also coordinate learning and engagement events that bring together partners to share best practice and strengthen delivery across Wales.

As the postholder you will:

• Work with external suppliers including photographers, designers, translators and videographers.
• Lead communications and marketing activity for the Short Breaks Fund and Carers Support Fund in Wales.
• Coordinate learning, engagement and promotional events for stakeholders and partners.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with volunteers, community groups, healthcare professionals and local partners to strengthen community connections, amplify lived experience and ensure people affected by diabetes can access support, information and opportunities to get involved.

As our Engaging Communities and Volunteering Officer, you will play a key role in developing and strengthening community engagement across Northern Ireland.

You will recruit, support and empower a network of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Working collaboratively with community organisations, healthcare providers and voluntary sector partners, you will help raise awareness of diabetes, improve access to support and ensure Diabetes UK Northern Ireland is reaching diverse and underrepresented communities.

You will build trusted relationships, identify new partnership opportunities and support community led approaches that place people with lived experience at the heart of our work.

This is a varied role that combines community engagement, volunteer development, partnership building, project delivery and impact measurement.

Location: Blended between office and home (England and Wales). Time in office negotiable

Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. Through our national network of charities, we give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

The role
As Wales Insights Officer you will support efforts to achieve collective impact between our national organisation and the local Citizens Advice network across Wales. You will strengthen engagement, collaboration and collective communication, build insight from the network and colleagues across the national organisation and assess and report on the impact of collective actions across Wales.

This is an exploratory, fixed-term role, made possible by generous funding from the Moondance Foundation, offering an exciting opportunity to deliver impact for Citizens Advice work in Wales and deepen relationships and communication between local, regional and national levels to deliver on our shared mission.

In 2024, local offices in Wales came together to apply for and win regional and national grant funding from the Welsh Government - Advicelink Cymru (the Single Advice Fund) - a programme previously administered via the national organisation. This important success created an opportunity for reshaping the way that the national and local organisations work together, including work across regions, to engage with each other, deliver impact and avoid duplication.

Based within our Wales Team, this role offers critical additional capacity and experience to deliver on our ambitions to enhance the way we work together with the local network, add value, ensure efficient and coordinated actions, and ensure we are responsive to new and emerging opportunities to grow our impact. By building relationships, gathering feedback, insights and impact, and facilitating opportunities to work together we can provide meaningful opportunities to facilitate learning and deliver collective impact. This role will:

1. Support relationship building that strengthens our approach to working alongside the network in Wales on strategic priorities.
2. Work alongside the team to capture insights and opportunities arising from local practice and our work together and use this to build wider awareness, understanding and strengthened opportunities for collaboration
3. Use skills that enable you to assess, measure and support reporting on the impact of work together across Wales
4. With support from the team you will co-lead a programme of communication, activity and events - alongside the Wales network and relevant national communication and engagement teams - that build engagement, support our ambitions, and raise our profile in Wales with key stakeholders.

You will have a track record of building strong relationships, working across organisational boundaries, capturing and recording insight, and delivering strong communication and engagement in the context of local, regional or national charities.

We are looking for a highly skilled individual with strong relational and communication skills, curiosity, and ambition to achieve real change for people in Wales via Citizens Advice local and national work.

Regional Officer for Safeguarding– South East Region (London & South East Districts)

Home based, part time (17.5 hours per week)

Starting salary circa £20,000-£21,750 (depending on experience)

The Methodist Church is committed to ensuring its churches are safe, welcoming spaces for all by promoting good practice, delivering high-quality training, and providing expert safeguarding advice.

We are seeking a part-time Regional Officer for Safeguarding (ROS) to join our Connexional Safeguarding Team. In this role, you will take the lead on safeguarding matters within your designated area, providing expert advice, guidance, and oversight to ensure compliance with safeguarding policy, procedures, and relevant legislation.

You will manage safeguarding casework, undertake and support risk assessments (including those relating to DBS concerns), contribute to the delivery of safeguarding training, and advise churches and circuits on best practice. Working collaboratively with Regional Safeguarding Officers, District Chairs, and District Safeguarding Groups, you will help promote and strengthen effective safeguarding practice across the region.

This role sits within South East Regional Team, supporting adjoining areas across the London and South East Districts. The role will include coverage of Staines, Thames Valley, Teddington and Croydon, amongst others and requires travelling.
