We are seeking an experienced, Glasgow-based fundraiser to join us as a Regional Development Officer. In this role, you’ll be a confident, visible champion for Mary’s Meals, someone who knows the city, understands its communities, and can build relationships that spark action. You’ll bring boldness and creativity to your work, whether delivering inspiring talks in churches and schools, making fundraising asks or forging genuine partnerships with local businesses and networks.
Using your deep knowledge of Glasgow’s people and places, you will identify high‑potential opportunities, grow income and participation, and cultivate a committed local movement of supporters and volunteers. Through strategic, outward‑facing work, you’ll turn first conversations into committed, long‑term support that strengthens our movement and fuels our mission.
Working closely with the Head of Scotland, you will co‑design and deliver a local growth plan shaped by the pulse of your region. You will represent Mary’s Meals across faith communities, schools, community groups, business networks, and key connectors, bringing energy, authenticity, and a passion for our mission.
Highly autonomous, you’ll combine insight, data, and local intuition to focus on areas of greatest opportunity. You’ll collaborate across the organisation to create seamless supporter journeys and tell compelling, meaningful stories. Everything you do will reflect Mary’s Meals’ warmth, simplicity, and dignity.
Key responsibilities include
- Work with the Head of Scotland to create and deliver an insight‑driven regional growth plan, with clear priorities around income, visibility, and volunteer mobilisation.
- Use local knowledge, data, and community insight to focus your time on the strongest opportunities for growth.
- Balance relationship‑building with a proactive, opportunity-led approach, identifying new supporters, networks, and partnerships and developing them from prospective supporters into committed donors.
- Actively network across Glasgow to initiate new meetings, build connections, and follow up purposefully.
- Represent Mary’s Meals with authenticity and enthusiasm across schools, churches, parishes, universities, community groups, and local businesses.
- Deliver engaging talks, assemblies, parish visits, small events, networking sessions, and partnership meetings that increase income, participation, and visibility.
- Build a diverse pipeline of leads and partnerships that reflect Glasgow’s communities and faith landscape.
- Create the environment for a strong volunteer network and empower volunteers through thoughtful delegation, coaching, encouragement, and recognition.
- Strengthen local visibility by nurturing community connectors and supporting appropriate local media engagement.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Regional Gifts in Wills Fundraising Officer to be one of the faces of legacy fundraising, and lead key areas of legacy activity, with a focus on inspiring individuals to remember the Woodland Trust in their will.
This role is advertised as part-time, 22.5 hours per week.
A company vehicle will be provided for this role. Please note that our Company Vehicle Policy is also under review as part of our Job Families and Contract Review project, so the eligibility criteria therein are subject to change in due course.
The Role:
- Manage and grow a pipeline of legacy supporters across all stages of the donor journey, increasing pledger numbers, loyalty, and legacy income.
- Act as a visible ambassador for gifts in wills by leading stewardship and prospecting events, delivering talks and briefings, and engaging confidently with supporters and colleagues through one-to-one and group communications.
- Provide personalised and sensitive responses to gifts in wills enquiries, ensuring an excellent supporter experience and strong relationship-building.
- Build and nurture supporter relationships, creating opportunities for deeper engagement, connection, and recognition.
- Develop a portfolio of compelling legacy case studies and stories for use in communications to encourage gifts in wills.
- Identify and support new prospecting and stewardship opportunities to expand legacy giving activity.
- Collaborate with colleagues across regions, countries, and philanthropy teams to share learning and maximise advocacy for gifts in wills.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, communications consent, and GDPR compliance.
- This is a homebased role, requiring regular travel to locations within the UK, sometimes to remote locations. Occasional travel to regional offices and overnight stays will be required.
- This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
The Candidate:
- Experience working in fundraising, third sector or a targeted communications environment.
- Excellent relationship development and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills gained in a busy, target-driven environment.
- Negotiation and collaboration skills, with proven ability to secure commitment from individuals.
- IT literate, specifically experienced in Microsoft office and database management.
- Personable, diplomatic and empathetic with strong listening skills.
- Outstanding communication skills - must be confident and comfortable communicating through formal and informal methods to engage and inspire.
- Experience planning and developing appropriate engagement material is desirable.

Title: Community Outreach Officer - Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels
Status: Full time (35 hrs/week), Fixed term (until 31st March 2028)
Salary: £25,000 per annum pending review
Location: Blairgowrie Office, Perthshire (working across the Central lowlands and Southern Highlands)

The Role:
The Community Outreach Officer will contribute to the protection of the Highland Line (HL), a coast-to-coast control zone which aims to prevent grey squirrels from moving north from Central Scotland into the red strongholds of the Highlands and Grampians. Progressed through a programme of targeted grey squirrel monitoring and control, you’ll help support the protection and expansion of red squirrel populations in accordance with the Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels strategy. This role requires an approachable individual with experience recruiting, motivating, training, coordinating and managing community-based volunteers (groups and individuals) to undertake active conservation work.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Working closely with the Monitoring and Control Officers (MCOs)
- Supporting and expanding volunteer networks through volunteer recruitment and onboarding
- Data entry and digital records
- Engaging and building relations with key stakeholders, landowners and local authorities
- Providing community network support and communications. This will include identifying opportunities to engage difficult-to-reach people and new audiences in the Central Lowlands.
Specifically, this includes:
- Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to carry out fortnightly feeder box monitoring surveys, ensuring they have the equipment and consumables required, and providing practical support and temporary survey cover as needed.
- Manage and coordinate the processing of monitoring samples and resulting data. Tis includes the analysis of hair samples to identify and record red squirrel, grey squirrel or pine marten detections and sharing results with volunteers
- Alongside the SSRS HL team, engaging with and recruit new landowners/managers to undertake grey squirrel control and monitoring on their land.
- Developing methodologies to ensure sustained engagement and data sharing to support independent controllers across the Highland Line region
- Engaging and building relations with new and existing stakeholders to support the project.
- Leading strategic events, talks, and other activities to promote active community understanding and participation of red squirrel conservation in Scotland
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a relevant degree
- Have experience of recruiting, motivating, training, coordinating and managing volunteers
- A good understanding of conservation principles, invasive non-native species management, wildlife practices and legislation
- Experience of working with landowners, gamekeepers, foresters and the public is desirable
- Experience with keeping and maintaining accurate records using Microsoft packages is essential and knowledge of ArcGIS would be useful
- There may occasionally be a requirement to work out of normal working hours
- You must possess a full clean driving licence and have use of a vehicle
