1. Overview

Cerebral Palsy Sport (CP Sport) is recruiting three Regional Programme Delivery Officers to support the delivery of the “Together We Can” Young Ambassador Programme across England.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with young people with cerebral palsy (CP), supporting them to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and lead social action within their communities.

These roles will be central to delivering a national programme across eight regional hubs, working closely with young people, partners, and communities to create meaningful and lasting impact.

2. Contract Details

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) – part-time considered

Contract: Fixed-term until March 31st 2027 (with potential for extension, subject to funding)

Location: Home-based with regular travel across your region

Regions: North / Midlands / South

3. Role Purpose

You will be responsible for delivering the Young Ambassador Programme within your region, supporting young people aged 10–20 with CP to take part in training, social action, and community-based activity.

You will work closely with Young Ambassadors to:

· Develop their confidence and leadership

· Support them to plan and deliver activities

· Build partnerships across schools, sport, and health sectors

4. Key Responsibilities

Programme Delivery

· Lead delivery of the Young Ambassador Programme within your region

· Support the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of Young Ambassadors

· Deliver or facilitate training sessions and group activities

· Support young people to co-design and deliver social action projects

Supporting Young Ambassadors

· Provide ongoing support, guidance, and encouragement

· Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment

· Support young people to develop confidence and leadership skills

Activity and Events

Support delivery of:

· School visits

· Community engagement activities

· Regional multisport events

· Awareness campaigns (including World CP Day)

These activities form a core part of the programme’s impact and youth-led delivery model.

Partnerships and Engagement

Build relationships with:

· Schools and education providers

· Health and medical professionals

· Sports clubs and community organisations

Support partners to engage with the programme and Young Ambassadors

Planning and Coordination

· Plan and coordinate regional delivery in line with programme timelines

· Manage logistics for sessions and events

· Maintain regular communication with the national team

Monitoring and Reporting

· Track attendance, activity, and engagement

· Collect feedback and evidence from delivery

· Contribute to programme reporting, including the 6-month progress report

Safeguarding and Compliance

· Ensure all delivery follows safeguarding policies and procedures

· Complete risk assessments for activities

· Maintain safe and inclusive delivery environments

5. Personal Specification

Essential

· Experience working with young people in community, youth, or sport settings

· Strong communication and relationship-building skills

· Ability to plan and deliver activities or programmes

· Organised and able to manage multiple priorities

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Commitment to inclusion and supporting young people

Desirable

· Experience working with disabled young people or inclusive programmes

· Understanding of cerebral palsy or disability inclusion

· Experience working with schools, health professionals, or community partners

· Experience delivering training or workshops

This is a varied and outward-facing role where no two weeks look the same. You’ll: 

• Build relationships with churches, community groups, and individuals across your area

• Help create and lead new initiatives that give young people opportunities to explore faith 

• Coach and equip others to grow their confidence and impact 

• Develop new ideas and approaches that can be expanded more widely 

• Contribute to events, activities, and programmes across the region 

You’ll spend time out and about in your local area, as well as working flexibly from home. 

The role can be a full or a part time job share and offers flexibility for anyone with childcare/caring responsibilities, candidates in existing part time employment or study. We also offer home based working for even greater flexibility and balance with the responsibilities of family life.

About your team  

You’ll be joining our brilliant South Region team, which covers our largest region from Kent to Cornwall, offering numerous opportunities to contribute your expertise in a variety of contexts, from urban and suburban to coastal and rural settings. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides, we’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years.  

In the south region we have the highest density of Christian holidays and festivals, with events that we organise and run directly and a variety of festival and missions that we support and partner with. You’ll have a fantastic opportunity each summer to get hands on engaged in these mission and festivals throughout the year.  

Our South Region also includes our vibrant capital, one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities in the world, with over 300 languages spoken. With many like-minded missional organisations having a footprint in and around the capital, and all of the Christian movements and denominations represented here, London holds key strategic value and will be the focus of your ministry activities. You’ll be joining an exceptional and growing team of five staff. We are particularly interested in how sports, arts, and culture can be explored to further enable the mission both in London and across SU and would be particularly interested in candidates with expertise in either of these areas.

We do this through the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network (PEN), a network of over 7,000 health and care professionals with a shared vision: to build an expert Parkinson’s workforce and improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.

We bring together and support health and care professionals to share best practice, network and collaborate, share resources and education, and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

To help us deliver our strategic aims, we are looking for a person with lived experience of Parkinson’s  to take on the role of Lived Experience Lead on a consultancy basis. 

About the role 

In this role, you’ll:

• Provide strategic guidance to the Parkinson’s UK team through the monthly Parkinson’s Excellence Network Steering Group.

• Bring expertise as a person with lived experience of Parkinson’s for Parkinson’s UK teams.

• Drive engagement and participation with the Excellence Network. 

• Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services.

• Act as an ambassador for the Excellence Network. 

• Attend the annual in-person PEN National and Regional Clinical Leads meeting.

• Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.

• Join relevant governance groups, including the UK Parkinson’s Audit Governance Board. 

What expertise you’ll bring:

• Have lived experience of Parkinson’s and awareness of how the condition presents itself for other people with Parkinson’s. 

• Be skilled in sharing insight and lived experience with a range of stakeholders to help inform decision making.

• Have an understanding of health and social care support to people with Parkinson’s  to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

• This role does not require NHS Professional/Clinical experience, and we encourage applicants without a healthcare background to apply

You will also lead by example, through the modelling of excellent mission delivery to children and young people consistent with Scripture Union’s mission in supporting the pioneering of new mission.

The successful candidate will:

· Be a strategic thinker and will have solid judgment of ministry impact.

· Have considerable insight into ministry with children and young people, be a passionate advocate, an excellent practitioner, and a capable communicator.

· Influence networks, shape opinion, challenge inertia and inspire creativity.

· Be self-disciplined, able to organise and prioritise their own workload, and manage multiple projects.

· Be able to visualise and work towards long-term goals.

· Be open to and comfortable with different traditions, styles and expression of spirituality, prayer, and worship, and has a growing familiarity with and understanding of the Bible. 

· Have a total commitment to God and is a Christian disciple.

· Be able to communicate effectively and speak the Welsh language (would be desirable).
