As an Employment Coach with our Employcare Project you will be supporting unpaid carers living in Manchester; providing support and coaching in order for them to re-enter paid employment or voluntary roles.  The successful candidates will manage a small caseload of carers and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training.  You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.

This role is subject to a Basic DBS check.

To help us work towards our plans for embedding participation, we're looking for someone to join our Engagement and Inclusion Team to work with the communities we aim to serve, with a focus on those who are underrepresented within Lancashire Mind services. The role has been designed to ensure that the experiences, perspectives and ideas of local people are being listened to and acted upon.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within communities and knowledge of the barriers that people face to achieving mental wellbeing and accessing services. You'll be confident, creative and able to work autonomously in the community, where you'll communicate with a wide range of people and quickly build rapport.

The focus of the role will be to ensure that more people with lived experience of poor mental health know who Lancashire Mind are, what we do and how they can influence our work. You'll work with the Community Engagement Projects Lead to create a range of opportunities for people to participate, including establishing formal structures, for example a lived experience panel and youth advisory group, which you'll design with the people who want to get involved. You'll work with colleagues across all teams to ensure opportunities to influence Lancashire Mind's work are promoted to everyone who uses our services.

The Health Link Worker will:

• Provide information for and about carers and young carers to GP practices and health and social care teams.

• Provide presentations, training and talks to health and social care staff on carers needs and include all aspects of caring within the awareness raising.

Duties and Responsibilities

Welfare Benefits

Information and Support

1) Identify hidden Carers and provide them with high quality information, advice and support.  This will include:

a)Answering enquiries about available services, and other organisations of interest to Carers

b)Sending Carers appropriate leaflets and application forms.

c)Referring Carers for carers’ assessment

d)Providing an empathetic and supportive ear to Carers about the difficulties they may be experiencing.

e)To signpost carers to relevant voluntary and statutory organisations.

2) Keep up-to-date with services, and organisations relevant to Carers.

3) To promote the work of the organisation by use of media, talks, presentations, displays etc.

4) Make links with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations.

Casework/Individual Support

1) Work on behalf of Carers both by phone and in writing to help them to obtain the services they need.

2) Attend meetings, case conferences, complaints procedures etc. as necessary to support individual Carers.

3) Make home-visits as necessary to carry out this aspect of the work and initial support to new carers via home visit. 

4) Liaise with other advice/advocacy organisations to develop and maintain referral systems.

Administration and Monitoring

1) Produce statistics and other monitoring reports to the management

2) To be primarily self-servicing including word processing letters, keeping appropriate records of work undertaken, write reports and complete monitoring forms. 

3)      To enter information on to the database.  

General Tasks

1) To work as part of a team contributing to the smooth and effective running of Knowsley Carers Centre.

3) To produce articles for the Carers Centre newsletter and to distribute

 to establishments around Knowsley.

4) To attend and actively participate in regular supervision, team meetings and annual appraisal sessions.

5) To undertake relevant training and staff development activities as required.

6) To undertake occasional evening/weekend work where necessary.

7) To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Centre Manager.

Lancashire Mind

Housing and Wellbeing Mentor

Hours: Full time 35 hours a week Monday to Friday

Responsible to: Tenancy Operational Lead
Location: Hybrid role with Nominal office working in Chorley, and regular travel to venues around Lancashire for tenant visits, training, and team meetings.

Lancashire Mind’s Tenancy Management Service works in partnership with several registered housing partners across Lancashire to manage a portfolio of properties on their behalf and provide tenancy support to people living with moderate mental health conditions.

We care about making a difference to people’s lives and through the provision of regular support, we work with each person to improve their mental wellbeing and build the confidence and skills to sustain their tenancy and move on to independent living.

We use an outcome-based approach, making sure that each person is involved in their own support planning from the start of their journey with us and achieve this by offering encouragement and one to one support to help each person to understand and manage their tenancy, develop social and daily living skills, gain access to essential services to manage their mental and physical health and help and guidance to maximise their benefits and improve their economic wellbeing.

Your new role

We are looking for a new Tenancy Management Worker to join our small and friendly team to manage a caseload of customers who have complex needs including mental health conditions, substance misuse, homelessness, and a possible history of offending.

Your job will be to work closely with these individuals to promote independent living and help them to achieve and sustain their tenancies. This is a challenging and varied job which is often rewarding, particularly when the people we have supported achieve their own goals and move on to build better lives.

What you will need to succeed

You will need experience of working with people with complex needs ideally in a supported or social housing setting and have the resilience to support people with a diverse range of mental health conditions to overcome barriers to independent living.

It is important that the right candidate is an excellent communicator, able to listen and understand people’s needs but also confident communicating and liaising with other local services and partner agencies to ensure each person has the right support in place.

An excellent working knowledge of safeguarding practices for protecting vulnerable people is also key to this role and the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate proven experience of this.

Ideally, an understanding of the issues which arise within the social housing sector or experience working in a similar role would be an advantage.

You will need to be a good team player, with the ability to work well with others and be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.

This is an essential car user role as it requires extensive travel to and from tenants’ properties in Lancashire.

Main Role & Responsibilities

The post holder will be an active member of our programmes team and will work across our portfolio of programmes.

They will be responsible for regional stakeholder engagement, developing relationships and promoting Ygam training across the UK. They will recruit suitable delegates to workshops, working closely with a range of organisations and families.

They will provide training both face to face and online and will be responsible for the delivery of our assured workshops and promoting the work of Ygam at conferences and events.

They will be able to demonstrate the impact of this work by working with organisations to collate case studies and evidence to support the programmes achievements.

Main responsibilities will include:

Administration

• Be responsible for securing contracts by confirming booking information and working with the Head of Budgets, Contracts & Policy to ensure freelance trainer contracts and Service Agreements are in place

• Oversee the general administration of all APD functions including responding to customer queries and feedback

•  Process course bookings made via Thinkific and other platforms, ensuring all requirements are noted and passed on appropriately

• Ensure effective contribution of accurate and timely data required by Artswork and its funders / stakeholders

Finance

• Be responsible for APD budgets including raising sales invoices, reconciling payments and managing deferred income

• Follow anti-money laundering procedures to ensure APD sales are compliant with legislation

• Ensure all finance and operations processes and procedures are rigorously implemented in collaboration with the Finance & Operations team

• Produce budget forecasts for APD and provide monthly updates on current financial position to the Deputy CEO and Head of Budgets, Contracts & Policy

• Chase debtors and regularly report any overdue payments to the Finance team

Strategy

• Contribute to the APD growth strategy through ideas and practical solutions

• Work with the APD team and Deputy CEO in the development of new programmes, routes to market and audience development

Communications

• Help to maintain strong communication channels with all partner organisations and customers

• Provide administrative support in developing regional networks, contacts and partners

• Assist with the engagement of employers and partners for projects and programmes

Administration and Legal Compliance

• Maintain positive professional relationships with our participants, partners and stakeholders •

• Adhere to Artswork’s values and its policies and procedures, i.e. Equalities, Health and Safety, Data Protection, Safeguarding and Environmental policies

• Be a committed champion for Artswork’s Anti-Discrimination Charter

• Maintain and develop personal skills and knowledge through appropriate training

Our Part-Time Fundraising Officer will support the organisation's fundraising joining a high performing team of fundraisers.

Job deliverables:

• Identify and maximise opportunities to raise unrestricted and restricted funds from small trusts and other funding bodies to ask for grants up to £10,000
• Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding
• Build relationships with trusts, foundations and other funding bodies that help Bipolar UK secure long-term funding and support
• Achieve income targets that support Bipolar UK’s strategic service delivery goals
• Keep accurate records on Salesforce CRM
• With the Trusts Manager, develop our ‘thank you’ processes and donor stewardship programmes
• Create reports and updates for donors that bring to life the impact of their support
• Meet regular deadlines and manage your own workload
• Develop excellent working relationships across Bipolar UK
• Develop and maintain your knowledge of the charity sector and fundraising environment, to keep up to date with changes
• Be administratively self-supporting
• Understand and empathise with the beneficiaries and portray them (and the work of Bipolar UK) with sensitivity and accuracy
• Undertake any other duties that are relevant to the job as requested by the Trusts Manager and the CEO
• Work closely with other members of the fundraising team including the Partnership Development Manager and Strategic Partnership Manager, and collaborate on tasks and projects where applicable
