Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative psychologist to join our warm and friendly team at our Dose of Nature hub in Surrey. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase as we continue to receive funding to expand our reach, particularly increasing accessibility to our service for clients living in the Waverley area.

We are seeking a psychologist with passion for the natural world and there is great potential for the psychologist to lead on areas in which we seek to develop and expand. The post-holder would be closely supported by the psychology team, as well as the wider team, to do so.

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature.  We deliver ‘Nature Prescriptions’ to adults (aged 18+) referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.

Our Dose of Nature Prescription is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing.  Dose of Nature is a fun, supportive and lively organisation that encourages creativity and independence, as well as a strong sense of working together as a team.

The nature of the role requires occasional evenings and weekends to cover monthly volunteer training evenings and social events as necessitated by the needs of the charity.

Key Responsibilities 

Clinical 

• To carry out psychological assessments of clients referred to the service, to reach a psychological formulation of the client’s difficulties and understand their wider contextual needs, and to support those clients throughout their journey with Dose of Nature, offering ad-hoc support where needed.
• To subsequently pair clients with an appropriate volunteer Nature Guide who then delivers the Dose of Nature Prescription.
• To review clients at the end of their Dose of Nature Prescription and ensure that those clients who would like to and / or need to, maintain connection with Dose of Nature by attending groups, social events, and through ad-hoc support.
• To maintain relationships with GP practices and other referrers, and to inform them of client progress.
• To support the Clinical Lead to offer workshops and presentations to other agencies, professional colleagues and in the wider community.
• To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, staff members and volunteers contributing to a client’s recovery.
• To undertake risk assessment, formulation, and management of clients and to provide advice to the Dose of Nature team on psychological aspects of risk assessment, formulation, and management.
• To actively promote client involvement in their recovery and service development.

Teaching, Training, and Supervision

• To receive and provide regular clinical supervision.
• To gain additional experience and skills relevant to the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide clinical placements for trainee counsellors and / or trainee psychologists where needed and if appropriate, ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills and experience to contribute effectively to client recovery, utilising the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide advice, consultation and training to staff and volunteers.

Management, Leadership, Recruitment, Policy and Service Development

• To participate in identifying and implementing the development of a high quality, responsible and accessible service.
• To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the team’s operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit
• To participate in the management of psychological resources available to the team.
• To manage the workloads of assistant and trainee applied psychologists.
• To be involved, as appropriate, in the short listing and interviewing of assistant psychologists
  and other staff.
• To provide effective leadership and management to staff which promotes high performance
  standards both individually and as a team. 

Research and Service Evaluation

• To utilise theory, evidence-based literature, and research to support practice.
• To undertake appropriate research and provide research advice to other staff undertaking research
• To undertake project management, including service evaluation, with colleagues within the service to help develop service provision.

The role:

This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. You will work collaboratively with the CEO and Executive leadership team to drive strong business as usual delivery, and provide provide balanced insight to Executive Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Group so that they can take responsibility for questioning routines and rituals, and for streamlining processes that improve efficiency.

The Finance Director is the lead on the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) and is a key part of other relevant committees. Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. We also provide a small year round night shelter provision.

About the role:

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships). 
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.

The Manna Day Centre is a drop-in Centre for homeless and vulnerably housed single men and women. It is run by a team of project workers, under the Director, who are responsible for its smooth operation. Basic Services offered include food, showers, clothing, housing & welfare advice, medical care, and access to laptops. The Centre opens to service users 7 days a week, 8.30am– 1.30pm. The working week for this post is Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm each day.

The Senior Housing & Welfare Advice Worker must have a commitment to homeless people, which includes acceptance and respect. Responsibilities are shared among the team according to needs, skills and aptitudes. The annual salary is negotiable (depending on your experience) ranging from £33,775 to £41,359. Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose:

The Family Advocate will provide trauma-informed specialist support to women in the community and in prison who are at risk of losing custody of their children/have already experienced child removal. This role will also upskill colleagues, and work with Children’s Social Care teams to improve the response to women impacted by the criminal justice system.

1.      Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with the criminal justice system, who are at risk of experiencing/have experienced child removal. 

2.      Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including upskilling through information and training sessions on Children’s Social Care and family court processes, and increase Children's Social Care teams' knowledge and understanding on women in the criminal justice system.   

3.      Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as Children’s Social Care, probation, prison, to ensure a collaborative approach to women’s needs. 

4.      Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.

Role: Supporter Care/Carer’s Caseworker
Organisation Type: Non-profit/Charity
Hourly Rate: £14.58 – £15.58
Working Arrangements: Hybrid working (one day per week in the London office)
Location: WFH & in office one day per week
Employment Type: Temporary - Ongoing
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
 
About the role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a growing charity that places carers at the heart of everything they do. You’ll be a key player in a passionate team committed to empowering adult carers across the community, providing personalised support and advocacy at every step of their journey.

As a Caseworker, you’ll work directly with unpaid carers, providing a vital mix of practical advice, emotional support, and advocacy. From conducting statutory carer assessments to organising support groups and events, your work will ensure that carers feel recognised, valued, and supported in all aspects of their role.
 
You will engage with carers via various channels - phone, email, text, face-to-face, and group settings - ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. This is a multi-faceted role that blends frontline casework with community engagement and strategic development.
 
Main responsibilities of the role include:
 
Direct Support to Carers: 

• Deliver comprehensive carer assessments in line with the Care Act 2014, and co-produce tailored support plans
• Identify and assess eligibility for Carers Personal Budgets and assist with the application process
• Provide accurate and empathetic information, advice, and guidance on carers’ rights, benefits (e.g. PIP, Carer’s Allowance, Attendance Allowance), housing, and local services
• Act as a listening ear and a source of emotional reassurance for carers navigating challenges and crises
• Liaise with Local Authorities, NHS providers, and voluntary agencies to advocate for carers and coordinate support
• Make appropriate referrals and ensure follow-ups are completed

Identification and Outreach: 

• Lead proactive outreach efforts to identify new carers, particularly those from underrepresented or vulnerable communities
• Build and nurture collaborative relationships with GPs, hospitals, primary care teams, and community organisations
• Raise awareness of unpaid carers and the charity’s services through campaigns and community presence
• Contribute to the development of internal strategies and external policies that reflect the needs and voices of carers

Administration & Case Management:

• Maintain high-quality records using internal systems (Charity Log) and the Mosaic Local Authority database
• Register new carers and ensure timely updates to service user records
• Prepare case summaries and contribute to internal and external reports for management, commissioners, and funders
• Ensure data compliance, confidentiality, and GDPR adherence at all times

Team & Organisational Development:

• Act as a lead on specific areas of knowledge (e.g., benefits, outreach) and share expertise across the team
• Attend regular team meetings, supervision, and 1:1s, contributing to a positive and solution-focused culture
• Participate in ongoing training and staff development opportunities

The Successful Candidate:

Experience of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of need
Managing a personal caseload, including detailed case note keeping
Providing advice and support in a frontline or community setting
Exposure to the health and social care sector (voluntary experience welcomed)
Background working within mental health/supportive settings working with vulnerable people
 
Skills and Abilities:
 
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Skilled in using Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems (training will be given on Mosaic)
Excellent verbal and written communication, including report-writing
Creative and proactive with a solutions-focused mindset
 
Knowledge:
 
Familiarity with the Care Act 2014 and its implications for carers
Understanding of welfare benefits (especially PIP, Attendance Allowance, Carers Allowance)
Awareness of housing issues, safeguarding, and equality legislation
Insight into the unique challenges facing unpaid carers and the value of support networks
