Job description

WMUK are searching for a nurse to bring their specialist haematology knowledge to our small charity team. You’ll have experience of managing and caring for people living with blood cancer, and it would be beneficial if you have specific experience and knowledge of caring for people with Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (WM).

Reporting to our Chief Nursing Officer, you will be responsible for running and developing a support programme that addresses both the clinical and holistic needs of WM patients as well as their friends and families, and being a key contact for our community.

As part of this role, you will be running the UK’s only support line dedicated to people living with WM and their friends and families. You will be supporting the 4,000 people living with the disease, by helping them to understand their diagnosis, provide emotional support, prepare for appointments and ultimately empower them to live well with their condition.

This exciting and diverse role will allow you to utilise and develop many skills, whilst also engaging a thriving community to work towards the charity’s vision that people affected by WM live longer, good quality lives supported every step of the way by WMUK.

Finally, as we are a small charity, we believe that everyone has a role at supporting fundraising. Within this role, you will be the first point of contact for any equiries the community may have relative to fundraising.
