As a Development Officer, you will have the opportunity to work right across a range of Christian denominations, engaging with the community, and working with statutory bodies, local government, educational establishments, stakeholders in the local community and the night time economy as well as the voluntary sector.

The purpose of the role is to work with AT Senior Management in the development and delivery of the wide-ranging projects of AT. You will also be asked to meet with existing stakeholders and initiatives, as well as exploring new opportunities to help grow and develop our reach to communities that are in need of support.

About the Role

This is a dual-role position supporting both the Finance and HR functions of the charity. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budget management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in finance who is looking to broaden their experience in HR.

What you will do

Finance

· Post transactions into our accounting software, Xero, ensuring that everything is accurately recorded and coded.

· Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, card payments and expenses, and organise a twice- monthly pay run.

· Perform bank reconciliations.

· Manage the accounts mailbox.

· Complete the quarterly gift aid claims.

· Support the Head of Finance and Resources with the completion of the monthly management accounts, financial reporting and budgeting.

· Maintain financial and other administrative records, e.g. fixed asset register.

HR

· Maintain up-to-date employee records and keep our HR Information System (Breathe HR) up to date.

· Support the HR Lead by producing monthly or quarterly reports from Breathe HR.

· Support recruitment processes including posting job adverts, scheduling interviews, obtaining references and assisting with onboarding and induction of new staff.

· Work with the HR Lead to ensure that HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with legislation.

· Organise mandatory training for staff and maintain training records.

· Support employee wellbeing initiatives and internal communications.

· Assist in the payroll process by providing accurate HR data to the finance team.

· Minute the People Committee meeting on a quarterly basis.

· Support for trustee meetings set up and diary management.

What you will bring to the team

· Experience working with accounting software, preferably Xero.

Flexibility

Our staff who live in or near London operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays. Full-time staff work in the office both those days and at home the rest of the week, while part-time staff who live in or near London are required to work in the office on one of those days, and at home for the rest of the week. We also have staff outside London who are fully home-based. We would ideally like the Finance and HR Officer to work in the London office on either Monday or Tuesday (or both if they would prefer that) but we are flexible as to when in the week the remainder of the hours are worked, provided that there is a consistent working pattern each week.

The Coventry Diocesan Board of Finance Ltd (DBF) manages the financial affairs and hold the assets of the Diocese and its associated entities as well as managing activities to serve and equip these parishes through various activities and projects. 

The Finance & Governance team handle all matters concerning Diocesan and Cathedral finance including the administration and collection of parish share, paying invoices and expenses, budgeting, annual statutory, management accounts, clergy stipends, staff salaries, advice to parishes on parochial finance matters. 

This role covers the full range of work in an accounting system dealing with input to and output from all ledgers with specific responsibility for the administration of parish shares and fees including the issuing of regular statements to parishes. The purpose is to ensure that the accounting system has accurate and timely financial data which is available to those who require it either for decision-making or for external reports and accounts.

We’re looking for a Facilities and Operations Lead to take ownership of day-to-day operations across multiple sites for a well-established charity in Fulham. You’ll lead on all things office-related – from health and safety and compliance to tech, systems, and contractor management – making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

As well as overseeing facilities and managing supplier relationships, you’ll support new starters with onboarding, help staff get the most from their equipment and systems, and work closely with colleagues to improve processes and service quality.

You’ll manage a small, friendly team (Receptionist and Apprentice), foster a positive and professional working environment, and make sure the spaces we work in are welcoming, safe, and fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading day-to-day office and facilities operations across all sites

• Managing health and safety, GDPR, and compliance requirements

• Coordinating IT systems and equipment support for staff and new starters

• Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and service providers

• Keeping risk registers up to date and supporting organisational performance reporting

• Supporting with internal moves, hot-desking, and office policies

• Acting as Fire Warden and First Aider

Role Details

Location: Home based, with regular UK wide travel where required. Although the charity has national reach there is a particular focus on activity in Nottingham, Richard’s home town.

Reports to: Board of trustees Responsible for: Project Managers x 2, Communications Officer, Fundraising Consultant, Volunteers

Hours: Part time – 22.5 hours per week

Flexibility: Flexible working is available; the role will require some evenings and weekends work.

Length of contract: Permanent

Salary range: c. £55,000 (FTE - 33,000 pro rata)

Job Summary

The CEO will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and overall management of the Richard Whitehead Foundation. They will ensure it has a positive impact on enabling disabled people’s ambitions by removing barriers to give disabled people access to the life-changing power of sport. The ideal candidate will be a driven and visionary leader with a strong passion for making a difference.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the board to review and develop the strategic plan for the Richard Whitehead Foundation.
• Develop lead and manage an operational plan and budget to deliver the strategy
• Proactively build, develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, beneficiaries, disability organisations, volunteers, and staff ensuring that the Richard Whitehead Foundation is able to deliver on its objectives.
• To be bold in our ambition to empower disabled people through the power of sport.
• Lead, motivate and inspire the Richard Whitehead Foundation to achieve its goals and objectives, ensuring that the organisation has the right talent and resources to achieve its strategic objectives.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to ensure the sustainability, development and delivery of the Richard Whitehead Foundation and future projects, diversifying our income streams and growing overall income. This will include supporter acquisition, funding applications, event management and donor stewardship.
• Develop and oversee a marketing and communications plans
• To have a hands-on approach to progressing the Richard Whitehead Foundation
• Regular contact with trustees most notably the Chair, and President.
• Ensure that the Richard Whitehead Foundation is compliant with all relevant regulations, including those related to fundraising, governance, and charity law.
