Background

Supporting Victims of Sexual Violence is a company Limited by Guarantee which is registered with the Charity Commission (Registered Number 1077863).  The registered aims of the Charity are:

• to help relieve the suffering and distress of persons who have been raped or

sexually abused; and

• to advance the education of the public in the subject of rape and sexual

abuse and their effects.

The registered activities are:

• to promote the recovery of any adult or young person of any gender who has

experienced rape or sexual abuse at any point in their life; and 

• to offer one to one counselling, phone support, forensic medicals following

recent incidents, with or without police involvement, young people's service,

trust & support through court and criminal proceedings.

Purpose of the Job

The role is to provide a high quality, specialist service to victims of sexual violence including provision of one to one therapy for clients aged between 0 and 18. The role includes provision of therapeutic assessments to clients across Derbyshire who have been referred to the Therapy Service either through self-referral, or other external pathways.

To work within a multi-agency setting to provide an empathetic and pro-active support service to victims of historical sexual violence aged 0-17 and their families, within and outside of the criminal justice system, including pre-trial therapy.

This role is part of the Therapy Service which comprises of a team of Adult and Children’s Therapists offering counselling, therapy, support groups, parent support sessions and other therapeutic interventions to victims of sexual violence and secondary survivors.

Accountability

The Childrens Therapist will be line managed by The Therapy Delivery Manager. The post is part of a wider team at SV2 delivering a range of support services to victims of sexual violence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Deliver appropriate individual face to face or phone/online therapeutic services to victims (aged 0-18) of historical sexual violence or abuse at any point in their lives.

· To provide specialist counselling assessments and one to one therapy in line with the specific funded project

· To work with the whole SV2 therapy team to ensure smooth transition of client referrals into the service

· Maintain current and accurate records of clients and client interactions, and provide reports and information on clinical practice as required, in line with BACP guidelines, SV2 policies and Data Protection Act using agreed frameworks

· To contribute towards the Clinical Governance process within the service

· Undertake CPD as identified in annual appraisal and line management processes

· To support members of the team and sub-contracted therapists to deliver support groups to clients

· To offer ad hoc psychoeducational support sessions to the parent/carers of children receiving therapy within the Therapy Service

· To support the Therapy Delivery Manager by taking an active role in the Student Counsellor Placement Scheme including promotion, interviews, induction, mentoring and offering ongoing support to student placements and volunteers

· To work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Agency’s policies and procedures

• Monitor and record progress and outcomes for clients utilising SV2’s case management system, client support plan and other systems, as required
• Monitor, maintain, plan and prioritise own work and client caseload
• Liaise with other relevant external agencies in relation to the support of their clients
• Respond to safeguarding issues and liaise with staff in accordance with SV2’s safeguarding policies
• Provide information and reports for managers, as required

Professional

• To support and liaise closely with practitioners and professionals in SV2 and other external organisations

• Develop and maintain knowledge and skills relevant to this area of work which meets the needs of the Organisation, client group and sexual offences legislation

• Maintain confidentiality in line with SV2’s information governance policies
• Adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics adopted by SV2

Communication and Public Relations

• Raise awareness of services in line withSupporting Victims of Sexual Violence ’s Communications Strategy
• Ensure communication between agencies is effective
• Represent the service in a professional manner

Other duties

• Work within Supporting Victims of Sexual Violence Health & Safety Policy and take responsibility for personal Health & Safety
• Attend regular line management, clinical supervision, peer supervision, appraisal meetings and team meetings, as required

Aside from the 50+ young people we see every day at our day centre, New Horizon’s Outreach service also works with young people on the streets and in the community. The team works pan London to deliver a unique, youth-specific outreach service to young people currently or at risk of rough sleeping. We use our extensive housing expertise to place those young people into accommodation that is appropriate and safe whilst encouraging them to access the day centre to benefit from the wide range of services we offer. The Outreach Worker will work as part of Rough Sleeping Team to deliver at least two street outreach shifts per week and transitional casework to young people facing rough sleeping. You will need to be willing to work early mornings and late evenings, to travel across London to identify young people who need our support, and to work flexibly to respond to evolving needs. We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. We are looking for maternity cover for a full-time counsellor role on our Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) counselling service, Mind My Home. The service offers SFBT to adults (18+) with low to moderate mental health needs.

 The CPVO programme is aimed at extending an offer to older service veterans, inviting them to engage with our In Pensioners and enjoy the sense of community and comradeship that is at the heart of the Chelsea Pensioner community. While most of our programme activity is centred on the Royal Hospital Chelsea estate in London, the programme seeks to expand in reach to other UK regions where there is a sizeable veteran population who might benefit from engagement with our team of Chelsea Pensioners, staff and volunteers. There are also plans to develop a digital offer.

 The Veterans’ Outreach Officer will support  the Head of Veterans’ Outreach in developing and managing the programme of activities encouraging engagement and social interaction between Chelsea Pensioners and other service veterans thereby helping to alleviate the social isolation and loneliness felt by many older veterans. Responsibilities will include promoting the programme within veterans' networks and finding innovative ways to connect with veterans; the management of themed events both at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and further afield as we seek to expand nationwide. Due to the nature of some of the key responsibilities, there is an Occupational Requirement for the postholder to be a Christian (Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010).

This is a part-time role for Viva, based anywhere in the world where Viva can employ you. If based in the UK, the full-time salary range is £36,000 to £40,000 per annum (pro-rata), depending on experience. If you are based outside of the UK, the reward package will be adjusted to reflect the relevant local market and terms and conditions.

The role can be remote, hybrid or office-based where Viva has an office (Hong Kong, UK, Uganda). The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and registration with the DBS Update Service (or police check where possible outside the UK), paid for by Viva.

Release Counselling and Therapy for Women was set up in Brighton and Hove in January 2013, and registered as a UK charity in 2020, to provide affordable counselling and other forms of support for women across Sussex experiencing mental health distress. We specialise in maternal mental health, supporIng mothers and their babies during the perinatal period, a key Ime of transiIon in a women’s life in which many experience vulnerable mental health. As part of this, we aim to increase inclusion, reaching women often excluded from counselling and other mental health support due to cost.

Whilst we have offered a range of therapeutIc groups, workshops and 1-2-1 counselling over the years, we are currently focussing on delivering our flagship ‘Mother Nurture’ 10-week therapeutIc group for new mums, and our ‘Second Nature’ 8-week therapeutIc group for second + tIme mums across Sussex.

Our services are operated by a team of sessional qualified counsellors, and counsellors in supervised training, and work within the BACP Ethical Framework.

As the founding CEO is now moving on, we are looking to appoint a new CEO to lead us in this next season. Job Description

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Brighton and Hove. The role is expected to involve homeworking plus external delivery, although may be subject to change.

Accountable to: Board of Trustees

Direct reports: Part-tIme Administrator/Bookkeeper, part-tIme Digital and Data MarketIng Exec plus sessional delivery staff

Hours: 2-3 days per week (TBC)

Contract: One Year Fixed term contract, extension dependant on funding

Summary of post

The Chief ExecuIve is responsible for the successful operaIon and development of Release Counselling and Therapy for Women CIO, in accordance with the Charity’s Strategic Plan and policies of the Board.

Remuneration

£46,464 - £50,512 pro rata, depending on experience

Main Purpose and scope of role

1.Leadership

Provide leadership for the charity and its staff by -

• Ensure the values of the charity are embedded through the organisation fostering a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, professional development and staff well-being.
• Build and maintain key partnerships to enhance the charity’s impact and reach within the community. Including, represenIng the charity to third parIes such as, funders, the public, other sector agencies, and statutory bodies.

2.Governance & Compliance

• Work closely with the board of trustees to ensure the charity adheres to the highest levels of governance including all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the board of trustees are well informed of the work of the charity, providing them with all the information they require in order to exercise their fiduciary duIes and in accordance with their legal requirements.
• Ensure the organisaIon’s policies and pracIces are kept up to date and adhered to, including and ensuring effective risk management.

3.Strategy

• Work with the board of trustees to develop the strategic direcIon for the charity in line with the charity’s mission and objectives.
• Implement the strategic plans and communicate this internally and externally as appropriate.
• Keep abreast of sector developments, closely monitoring opportuniIes and threats, and taking acIon accordingly.

4.Operations

• Ensure the charity is resourced to meet the objecIves of the strategic plans.
• Lead fundraising activities for the organisation, including income generaIon, monitoring and evaluation securing diverse income from government grants, foundations, corporate sponsors and individual donors.
• Manage the financial performance of the charity, including setting budgets and providing financial reporting to the board of trustees.
• Develop effective controls, incorporating finance, data management, safeguarding, equalities, and monitoring systems.
• HR oversight.

5.Service delivery

• Manage the successful delivery of the charity’s work in line with its contractual obligations.
• Manage and upskill a team of staff, ensuring they are fully skilled and able to deliver effectively for the organisation.
• Ensuring all service delivery is impact driven and of the highest quality.

6.Communications and PR

• Manage all internal and external communicaIons for the charity.
• Act as a spokesperson and first point of contact for all press and media enquiries.
• Represent the charity at public events and conferences as opportunities present themselves.

7.Safeguarding

• To work alongside the Designated Trustee Lead for Safeguarding in creating a culture of high safeguarding standards throughout the organisation.
• To ensure that the statutory obligaIons with regards to safeguarding are met and any safeguarding issues arising are dealt with in an appropriate manner.

About the Role

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will contribute to the growth and development of St Christopher’s fostering services by playing a key role in the recruitment, training and assessment of foster carers and by building positive relationships with referring authorities and other professionals.

Applicants should have:

• CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent professional qualification, and registration with the Health and Care Professions Care Council (HCPC).
• Experience of working in fostering or adoption.
• Knowledge of relevant child care legislation.
• Ability to manage your caseload effectively and to plan and priorities work to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication, motivation and team work skills.
• Ability to travel independently to all areas required by job responsibilities.
