Join Dementia UK as a Challenge Events Manager and take the lead in delivering our DIY and open challenge events portfolio through impactful acquisition campaigns and outstanding supporter experiences.
As part of the Mass Participation team, you’ll be responsible for developing the overall strategy for both the DIY and open challenge events programmes. A key part of the role is identifying and maximising opportunities for growth, ensuring the programme remains innovative and responsive to market trends. This will involve researching new opportunities, monitoring developments across the sector and continuously improving ways of working.
You will be responsible for setting the annual budget for both programmes, working closely with colleagues across Fundraising and Engagement to drive income, encourage collaboration and generate strong engagement with the events on offer. A close working relationship with the Challenge Events Manager (Third Party) will ensure a joined-up approach to the overall Challenge Events programme, with shared learning and consistent delivery across all areas.
This role includes line management of the Challenge Events Executive who leads on DIY and open challenges and the two Challenge Events Assistants who support the whole Challenge Events programme.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in successfully delivering DIY and open challenge events, including participant recruitment, supporter journey development and stewardship communications to achieve income targets. Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.
We are currently looking for an OTW Project Assistant who will support the delivery of the On The Water project at one of our boating stations in London. The project provides young people from outside Sea Cadets, age 9-14, the opportunity to get on the water, learn new skills and build confidence through boating activity. This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, inspiring, organised, creative, tenacious, positive, IT competent and with a real interest in people with a attention to detail and real enthusiasm for the project.
Project delivery takes place between 29 July 2024 and 30 August 2025 when the young people will be attending boating sessions. During this busy time the Project Assistant will be based at the boat station each day to complete registration, manage group change overs, track project targets, encourage survey completion and fill booking gaps. Prior to delivery the role will be focused on supporting the booking process and engaging in community outreach. Once delivery is complete, the Project Assistant role will then predominantly be supporting the evaluation and data collection as well as supporting participants to join their local Sea Cadet unit.
Key Responsibilities
- The welcoming and registration of participants for the On The Water project
- Collecting and uploading daily statistics and figures that show how the project is progressing
- Making new and repeat bookings
- Talking to participants and their parents/carers about the opportunities within Sea Cadets
- Managing a waiting list and reducing drop-outs
- Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of participants alongside the Boat Station staff
- Ensure that participants complete surveys to share their experience of the project and encourage adults to feedback on their young people’s experience
- Attend any meetings as required by the project
- Assist with the evaluation of the On The Water project

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide financial leadership for designated areas of the university.

Our client are looking for two conscientious individuals to lead on the management of reserves across Shropshire, ensuring they are in good ecological condition and help to develop them as safe & inspiring places for public access, education, research and demonstration. You’ll support colleagues and potentially line manage placements and junior roles, and liaise with volunteers, contractors and colleagues across the Trust to deliver priority works on your reserves. Good working relationships with neighbouring landowners and partners will be vital to ensure a quick response to any reported issues. With a meticulous approach to work, you will maintain accurate inspection reports and surveys, ensuring safety for visitors and managing budgets for your allocated reserves.
What our client are looking for:
To be successful, you’ll have experience of habitat and estate management including inspections, planning and directing work and will be able to demonstrate a track record of managing projects for wildlife, including budget management. You’ll be confident and approachable, able to provide support and mentoring to colleagues and inspire a passion for wildlife and nature to those around you. You’ll be accustomed to managing and motivating volunteer groups and supervising contractors. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.

The Head of Governance will ensure that the organisation (including subsidiaries) has robust and effective governance in place which complies with statutory requirements and good practice in relation to company and charity law and charity governance. The post holder will provide strategic leadership of the governance, and associated functions, supporting the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to proactively and effectively lead and manage the organisation to operate efficiently at its best. They will also be a natural collaborator, working with key stakeholders such as The Head of Legal to provide high level technical advice to members of the Movement and TSA staff concerning governing documents and key decisions, whilst also supporting effective governance at headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Medical Professional, with significant expertise and experience in global humanitarian and disaster responses, to provide specialist technical guidance and leadership across our humanitarian health programming.
UK-Med is an NGO providing emergency health support in times of crisis and humanitarian emergencies. We provide clinical support, as well as training and capacity building for health professionals around the world, with particular focus on countries vulnerable to natural disasters, outbreaks or with weakened health systems due to complex emergencies. As a key partner of the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT), we work closely with FCDO and the WHO, but we are also growing our own programmes. Our work has never been more vital, with disease outbreaks and disasters becoming more frequent, complex and severe.
Our portfolio of emergency health programmes continues to grow at pace, with current or recent projects in countries including Ukraine, Afghanistan, Malawi, Myanmar and Turkey. Projects include outbreak response, health worker capacity building, trauma and surgical care and health systems strengthening.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in the area of emergency response and disaster medicine, ideally including migration and conflict contexts. You will be able to apply your expertise to developing strategy at an HQ level, designing health responses and capacity building programmes as well as contributing to grant proposals. You will be willing and able to deploy overseas with our responses, providing leadership to health teams and liaising closely with Ministries of Health, WHO and other external partners.
