*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £26,887 to £42,371. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of £34,629 depending on the candidate's skills and experience. Context and purpose of the role

It’s an exciting time to join the Ramblers as we have recently refreshed our strategy to support the delivery of our long-term ambitions.

You will join a small, high-performing team responsible for generating £5 million per year from individual giving, legacies, grants and corporate partners, all to deliver the Ramblers ambition for a future where everyone can enjoy the benefits of walking in nature.

Working closely with the Product & Innovation Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the fundraising strategy, leading on the delivery of our individual giving and legacy marketing campaigns across a range of channels. You will create high-quality, compelling campaign materials and ensure an excellent donor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Income generation

• Play a key role in the implementation and delivery of the individual giving and legacy marketing strategy
• Support the growth of individual giving income in line with annual targets
• Develop and deliver regular cash and legacy marketing appeals to a high level, including:
  • Developing propositions and cases for support
  • Create compelling direct marketing materials, including writing persuasive copy and developing strong creative content
  • Project management to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget
  • Managing relationships with agencies and suppliers including design and print
• Manage a portfolio of affiliate fundraising campaigns

Donor stewardship

• Ensure the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and reporting
• Effectively manage communications with supporters, including ensuring that donations are thanked appropriately, managing fundraising inboxes, and responding to queries
• Working with the Production & Innovation Manager, identify a pipeline of potential mid- and high-value donors for stewardship and conversion

Data and reporting

• Produce campaign and programme level reporting and analysis
• Work closely with the data team to ensure selections are accurate, timely and relevant to our various audiences, and use income data to make recommendations for future campaigns
• Maintain accurate, up to date and compliant records of individual giving campaigns and appeals
• Provide regular financial reports and reforecasts to the Product & Innovation Manager and Head of Fundraising

Relationships

• Build strong working relationships with staff within various functions of the Ramblers
• Work with other members of the Fundraising, Communications and Supporter Care teams to ensure that all supporter communications are part of an integrated supporter journey

The Person

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience working within a target-driven fundraising or direct marketing team, ideally within an individual giving context
• Experience of managing fundraising or marketing projects across a range of channels, such as direct mail, social media and email
• Experience of data-driven marketing campaigns, including segmentation and campaign analysis to meet objectives
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications to a wide range of audiences
• Excellent creative skills, including the ability to write compelling, accurate and persuasive copy across a range of channels
• Competent in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience of working with CRM systems

• Experience of working with the Salesforce CRM

The role

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and ambitious Business Development Manager to lead our organisational efforts around income generation. Responsibilities

Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of funders and clients

· Overseeing the work of our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer in bringing together weekly information on publicly advertised funding opportunities, periodically testing new search words in line with our strategic and commercial interests.

Write and submit bids, and support others to

· In some instances, leading on bid writing – drafting, costing and submitting high quality bids for both project and core funding.

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

About the role:

The Business Support Officer role sits within the Professionalisation team at the Council which develops and manages a range of products including the development and management of the Council Standard, cyber security specialisms and professional titles. The team is also responsible for managing and supporting licensed bodies, developing the career framework, and implementing and managing processes for mapping to our Professional Titles.

The role is varied but primarily administrative with scope for the role holder to develop skills and experience in project management, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

· Support the Professionalisation team with the development, implementation and management of cyber security specialisms, mapping and business as usual requirements.

· Co-lead the Youth Advisory Panel with colleagues with support from the Project Manager – Careers & Skills as required.

· Organise and support the facilitation of panels, committees, webinars, and other events.

Job summary

The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a charity that supports members who work in, or are interested in, tropical medicine and global health.

In September 2028 it is hosting the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) on behalf of the International Federation for Tropical Medicine (IFTM), in Liverpool, UK.

ICTMM 2028 expects to receive over 1,500 attendees, hopefully with over 40% coming from outside of Europe. It is an educational meeting with a high proportion of the content driven by abstracts. The event is being delivered by RSTMH with the support of a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO).

The ICTMM Events Manager has responsibility for coordinating the development and delivery of ICTMM 2028 at RSTMH, working with the RSTMH team, the PCO, the event venue ACC Liverpool, IFTM, and other suppliers.  The individual would be based at RSTMH where the role would start on a part-time basis and move to be full-time 17 months before the event.

The role requires an able self-starter who understand the logistics and considerations of running a scientific, abstract-driven event of 1,500+ attendees, of working with a PCO and of educational events attended by a high number of international guests.  There will be some travel to Liverpool and the role would require some overnight stays there before and during the event.

The candidate needs to have excellent event management and project management skills, communication and relationship building skills, and to be organised and flexible with a great attention to detail.  They should be as comfortable developing an events strategy, as answering queries about tickets sales, and negotiating sponsorship. Alongside delivering the ICTMM meeting there are opportunities for partners to deliver events at the same venue, which are also the responsibility of the events manager.

The role will start as one day per week and then move to be full time as we approach the event. The current expected timings are

• Up until 31 March 2026 – 7 hours/1 day per week
• 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 – 21 hours/3 days per week
• 1 April 2027 to 30 September 2028 – 35 hours/ 5 days per week

Up to 1 April 2027 the role is purely office based, and there is flexibility to work the hours between Tuesday and Friday (not Mondays). The role has core hours of 10am-4pm so the working day needs to be within these hours.

The role may require work in the evenings or weekends and potential time staying in Liverpool.

Main responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive project plan for all aspects of ICTMM 2028, working with the PCO, and be responsible for ensuring all stakeholders meet deadlines leading up to the event
• Coordinate stakeholders working on ICTMM 2028, ensuring all are up to date with progress and relations run smoothly – including RSTMH, PCO, conference venue, IFTM, ICTMM Strategic, Sponsorship and Scientific Committees and other third parties
• Work with RSTMH CEO to recruit Committee Chairs and members, develop a long list of partners and sponsors for funding and support, and develop legal agreements for these

• Oversight and responsibility for the budget, and re-forecasting of income and expenditure for the event

This role reports to the Head of Policy and together you will be responsible for:
 
• Support the development and delivery of Stonewall's policy workstream, using credible analysis and evidence.
• Support Stonewall's policy agenda, both proactively and reactively, responding with agility and flexibility as appropriate.
• Work across Stonewall to ensure our policy objectives are embedded in the work we do with policy makers, parliamentarians, media, public and private sectors, international bodies, civil society and communities.
• Represent and speak on behalf of Stonewall, in external policy meetings and coalitions.
• Build an effective relationship network with policy makers and thought leaders to ensure that Stonewall is a chosen partner for LGBTQ issues.
• Stonewall is a LGBTQ charity. Over the last 35 years, we have helped create transformative change in the lives of LGBTQ people in the UK. Our campaigns drive positive change in public attitudes and public policy.
 
You would be a key part of a team of driven, passionate people who are working together to deliver meaningful and tangible progress for LGBTQ people.
 
For this role we are looking for significant experience working in a high-profile policy space, partnering with think tanks, and policy makers to effect change.

Salary: £40,000
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
