About the Role
You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we complete our 60th anniversary year.
This is a key role as member of our growing Fundraising & Communications department, responsible for the coordination and delivery of daily communications tasks and the design and creation of marketing assets.
Ataxia UK has a large and engaged community of patients, supporters, volunteers, fundraisers and professionals. The post holder will work with the Communications & Marketing Manager, the Fundraising department and the wider organisation to ensure we reach our networks across social platforms, website, and printed materials with dynamic branded assets. You will coordinate the delivery of the quarterly Ataxia Magazine, liaising with internal and external contributors, designers and printers. Working closely with the Communications & Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to help shape Ataxia UK’s new communications and brand strategy.
Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with full time staff working 5 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 2 days a week. This is adjusted to 1 day per week for part time.
About you
You will be a creative and dedicated individual, with a passion for communications, looking for a new challenge and excited by the opportunity to help shape our new strategy. You will be someone who thrives in a project-management environment and able to work both independently and closely with colleagues and external suppliers.
Organised and details-focused, you are confident across socials, website SEO, CRM and a range of communications software such as Canva, InDesign etc. You will have a keen understanding of how the role can support our fundraising and you will have experience working closely with fundraising teams or on income-generating projects or events. As a key member of the team responsible for our brand and messaging, you will have the skills and experience to ensure we positively represent the interests of the ataxia community, and you will be someone who shares our commitment to supporting those affected by ataxia.

We’re Recruiting – Fundraising Manager
From your UK home-base you’ll be flying the flag for the charity outside of Wales as a Fundraiser. You’ll put on quality fundraising events and build strong relationships through our reputation and Welsh links making a difference when it comes to people with cancer.
Picture being our Fundraising Manager and putting on fundraising events such as dinners and corporate sponsored events like golf or racing days. And, linking with London in Wales Week promoting networking opportunities with grant-givers, major donors, commercial, and corporate sources. The details
Working 28 hours per week flexibly you’ll need a UK work base. The salary is £29,600 (or £37,000 FTE)
Days and hours can be built in and around our standard operating week as set out in our staff benefits. We’re open to making the working week fit into your own lifestyle and the nature and needs of this type of Fundraising role. With a lot of autonomy in where you run events to meet your annual target there may need to be some travel to a city/location where you’re generating the income or some events you run may be in evenings or weekends.
Around going to work events for the role the rest of the job can be done from home anywhere in the UK. Our Cardiff City Centre Head Office is always available to you too. Most Team meetings and day to day colleague work is handled remotely but we’d expect to see you in the office for things such as our quarterly team meetings.

The Mill is a small scale multi-art form venue with big ambitions. Situated in the North Oxfordshire market town of Banbury, it is the focus of cultural life as the only public arts and performance venue in the Cherwell District.
Our 237-seat theatre plays host to high quality professional theatre, dance, comedy and music productions, whilst supporting opportunities for local community arts organisations to work and perform in a professional space. St Giles and The Wise Group came together to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency. As a result, we have been awarded contracts to deliver Women’s Services for North Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Durham. The service will provide holistic support to sentenced women in the community and those sentenced and un-sentenced in custodial settings.
About this key role
Our successful candidate will monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) ensuring they are successfully assigned to Personal Wellbeing Coaches using the appropriate guidance and process, ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales, plus provide regular activity reports to the Personal Wellbeing Manager. You will be the primary point of contact for all enquiries, external and internal to ensure communication channels are clear and effective, while also liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. Prisons), delivery partners, spot purchase providers and other agencies to arrange appointments, referrals, and generally ensure information exchanged is done in a clear, timely and effective manner.
Developing and maintaining an Estates log and diary to ensure the team always have an approved site to meet service users in mandated locations when needed and providing administration for meetings, including bookings, invitations and minute-taking, are also vital duties.
What we are looking for
- Experience of managing a case management system including inputting data and creating reports.
- Experience of working in services providing administrative support in a busy, pressurised environment.
- Experience of working in services which provide support to people who have faced adversity and disadvantage.
- Ability to develop and maintain means by which compliance with policy and procedure can be effectively monitored and reported on including financial expenditure.
- Ability to manage their workload including prioritising tasks and communicating with colleagues where delegation or allocation is required.
- Ability to create and communicate performance reports in a variety of formats.
- Ability to input data onto Customer Relationship Management Systems accurately and within agreed deadlines.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Healthy Relationship Worker will be responsible for supporting both young people and families around topics relating to relationships and sexual health through delivery of one to one and group work support.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide a support service to young people across Cardiff, working in partnership with statutory and voluntary professionals to ensure young people are supported with their sexual health and relationship needs.
• To plan, deliver and evaluate one to one and group activities which support the sexual health and wellbeing of young people in Cardiff, with a particular focus on vulnerable young people and those at risk.

Strategy

· By providing Information & Signposting Service to help people understand the services available in their local area and to make informed choices about different health and social care services.
KEY TASKS:
To work closely with the Healthwatch NN Advisory Group and the Support Northamptonshire’s CEO to:
1. Fulfil Healthwatch NN’s statutory purpose, contractual requirements and its strategic and operational plans and objectives.
2. Contribute and challenge at a strategic level, influencing and shaping decisions made by commissioners and providers, in line with the vision and priorities of Healthwatch NN.
3. Implement a project management approach to the design and delivery of all workplan activity and deliver on respective programme areas including:
• Providing an effective Information & Signposting service for the public.
• Priority Research Projects
• Gathering Patient Experiences
• Proactively managing Community Engagement & Outreach work
• Meeting Enter & View requirements
• Promoting and supporting Volunteering
4. Coordinate all statutory functions including enter and view visits, information requests, escalations to Healthwatch England, and the coordination of intelligence gathering from a range of sources including the Information and Signposting function, and the NHS Complaints Advocacy service. ·
5. Work closely with the Care Quality Commission, Experts by Experience representatives, Social Service Quality Inspectors and any other stakeholders that perform a quality or inspection role to ensure coordination of activities and awareness of each other’s workplans. ·
6. Lead on all communications with Healthwatch England, the CQC and other national partners, ensuring the timely distribution of intelligence collated locally, and escalating matters of serious concerns.
7. To lead and undertake research and issue led investigations. in priority areas, provide quantitative and qualitative analysis on key data, ensuring projects and reports are achieved on time and to a high quality and that recommendations are reported and reviewed.
8. To develop a core team of community volunteers who can support and contribute to the work of Healthwatch NN and support them to be proactive and enthusiastic in fulfilling their roles.
9. To represent and promote Healthwatch NN with the NHS, Local Authority and Third Sector stakeholders and
10. Deliver presentations and progress reports at key statutory bodies including the Health & Well Being Board, Health & Care Partnership and Overview and Scrutiny Committee as required.
11. Act as the central point of contact for key stakeholders, commissioners, and service providers and sit on issue led boards and networks and attend such meetings when deemed it could add value to the work of Healthwatch.
12. Ensure effective working relationships are in place with neighbouring Healthwatch, and explore opportunities for cross boundary working and joint utilisation of resources. and ensure appropriate protocols are in place for collaborative working. ·
13. Identify, advance and manage collaborative relationships with key strategic stakeholders and partners to achieve our statutory roles (including voluntary sector, statutory agencies and other local Healthwatch)
14. Act as ambassador for Healthwatch NN, working with other organisations and bodies as appropriate, taking part in external working groups and events to further the work and reputation of the organisation.
15. Lead and develop and maintain productive networks, relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and other appropriate bodies and organisations.
16. Where deemed appropriate, prepare formal requests for information to providers and commissioners, and keep a record of requests and timelines for responses. Identify appropriate actions when a late or insufficient response has been received, including onward referral to the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee. ·
17. Identify gaps in the knowledge of Healthwatch North Northamptonshire about the health and social care needs of local residents and look to address these, particularly working with key partners. ·
18. Assess local strategies and policy documents, to identify gaps where local public concerns are not being addressed.
19. Adopt an effective and shared approach to information management with appropriate sharing of data to avoid duplication, misinterpretation or underuse of data. ·
20. Work with the team to identify gaps in service provision and alert local commissioners of any such gaps.
21. Act as the central point of contact for all incoming press enquiries and be available to provide comments when health and social care related articles appear in the news, or direct enquiries to Senior Management where appropriate.
22. Act as the central point of contact for any complaints made against Healthwatch North Northamptonshire and escalate accordingly to internal policies.
23. Deliver key performance targets and ensure contract monitoring reports are produced in a timely manner.
24. Manage the Healthwatch NN website and social media , production and publication of reports and all external materials and content.
25. Line manage Healthwatch NN staff and carry out supervisions and appraisals in line with Support Northamptonshire policies and procedures
26. Working with the relevant staff ensure the necessary infrastructure, resources and relationships are in place for the effective and efficient management of Healthwatch NN.
27. Ensure compliance with all Support Northamptonshire policies and procedures

· Has experience of co-production and best practice in community engagement
· Is knowledgeable about key health and social care services.
· Is an experienced manager who is driven to manage a small team to capture views and experiences of local health and care services and produce recommendations for change to reflect what people tell us.
· Has the skills and confidence to influence change by working in partnership with other organisations and system partners

Responsibilities/ Role
- Support and develop relationships across the community income stream from new and existing partners with a plan to maintain and grow income in subsequent years in line with our fundraising strategy.
- Undertake research into potential new campaigns and advances in community fundraising.
- Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing audiences and fundraising opportunities, ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
- Work closely with the Head of Income Generation and existing Fundraising team to identify potential strategic relationships and opportunities.
- As a senior member of the Income Generation Team, you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise on a monthly basis.
- Lead on specific community fundraising initiatives as agree with the Head of Income Generation.
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to identify relevant products/ events/ campaigns/ Gifts-in-Kind that will be of interest to existing and potential supporters and work with communications team to produce literature and resources to demonstrate need and impact
- Delivery of health hour talks, with support from other members of the team as required, to secure funding.
- Achieve Financial and non-financial targets and KPI’s as agreed with the Head of Income Generation.
- Develop and support our ongoing stewardship journey for community Fundraisers and increase average gift though exceptional supporter care and a proactive approach.
- Pro-actively utilise charity database, maintaining and nurturing existing relationships and finding new supporters and/or networks.
- Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Head of Income Generation and Senior Management Team.
- In their absence provide cover for members of the fundraising team.

We are now looking to expand our Fundraising and Devlopment team in this newly created role. You will have relevant experience likely to have been gained over 1 to 3 years working in fundraising, supporter engagement, or a similar role within a charity or not-for-profit organisation. You must be confident using CRM systems such as Donorfy or similar, and in writing donor communications. Our team is passionate about the work we do and it is crucial that you have a genuine interest in the role fundraising plays in the charity sector as well as a resonance with our cause.
About the role
· Assist the Fundraising department in planning and delivering national and large-scale fundraising activities.
· Assist the Individual Giving Manager in the coordination and delivery of fundraising campaigns and initiatives including our annual Christmas Appeal, ensuring they are executed effectively and efficiently.
· Support the delivery of digital fundraising activities in line with the Fundraising Strategic Framework.
· Support the administration of the individual giving fundraising programme in collaboration with the wider team.
· Assist the Head of High Value and Individual Giving Manager to administer donor support communications.
· Ensure all donors are thanked in a timely manner via e-mail and letters and accurately recorded on our CRM.
· Maintain and update supporter and donor records within the CRM database ensuring they are accurate.
· Support the refinement of systems and processes to enhance donor experience.
· Serve as the first point of contact for Community Fundraising, including emailing and posting fundraising packs and providing fundraising guidance and advice.
· Maintain and develop our low to mid-level Trust and Foundation income, delivering applications and reporting using our Case for Support.
· Respond to general enquiries received over the phone and through the fundraising and general enquires inboxes.
· Liaise closely with colleagues across the charity to support the development of fundraising collateral and materials for fundraising activities.
