We are thrilled to be helping Spectra to find seek a compassionate, curious, and entrepeneurial Head of Fundraising. You will ideally have experience managing a small teams to achieve impressive results across individual giving with lower and higher value donors.

This is a full time position (compressed hours or 4 days may be considered), with hybrid working once or twice a fortnight in London.

The Charity
Spectra are a long standing LGBTQ+ CIC dedicated to providing supportive, expert, and non-judgemental peer-led health and wellbeing services.

• HIV testing, outreach and education for communities affected by HIV, particularly Black and Asian communities, as well as the LGBTQ+ community

The Role

They aim to diversify their income streams over the next few years and invest resources in building a brand that will capture people's imaginations and hearts, thereby building on a small pool of existing donors and growing individual giving, legacy, and major donor work.

With increased resources allocated to diversifying income, this post would suit someone interested in a start-up project focused on building individual giving from scratch, including regular and one-off donations, cultivating donors, including major donors, coordinating and developing event-based fundraising, and legacy-based giving.

You would manage a small team od two and work with the Senior Trust Fundraiser to provide support to other Strategic Programme leads, to ensure they maintain a high standard of reporting to trusts and foundations.

Key responsibilities

Events

· Oversee, coordinate and deliver our calendar of fundraising events including logistics and administration.

· Help organise our annual Appeal Dinner, the Trust’s flagship fundraising event, overseeing all administration, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and oversee adverts in Appeal Dinner brochure.

· Liaise with companies to arrange corporate events with Holocaust survivor speakers and develop relationships with existing and new companies to increase income in this area.

· Oversee and work with Young HET supporters to motivate them to fundraise for the Trust

· Work with other colleagues to market events through targeted messaging.

· Develop ideas for new fundraising campaigns, initiatives and events to grow income and cultivate new donors.

Community Fundraising

· Support fundraising campaigns including the coordination of appeals, newsletters and mailouts.

· Establish a programme of fundraising challenges (such as marathons and sporting events) to generate income and supporter engagement, building key relationships.

· Work with our Education and Outreach teams to oversee engagement and support from schools, synagogues and other institutions.

· Lead on digital fundraising campaigns and prepare content for social media.

General

· To manage the acknowledgment and thanking of donations and help to ensure the database is maintained.

· Work collaboratively with the Fundraising team on current and future fundraising strategy and activities, to shape fundraising priorities.

· Comply with relevant legislation with regards to data protection including General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What you’ll be doing …

Our Head of Events (HoE) will bring leadership and strategic vision to the Society’s Events team encompassing scientific conferences, venue hire, and training courses, working to deliver the business plan and achieve targets for this active, income-generating department.

This role will be responsible for supporting the six-strong team in delivery of our busy events programme, working effectively with conference convenors, and providing exemplary support to our delegates, venue users, sponsors, and clients throughout the year. Working closely with the Director of Science & Engagement, our new HoE will work to develop robust and diverse income streams for the Society from our events as well as sponsorship and will oversee the expansion of our venue hire provision into new markets (e.g. weddings) in addition to seizing other opportunities for growth.

Overall responsibilities / requirements …

Management & Leadership:

• Shape and lead the Events team to deliver top-quality leadership and coordination of our events programmes and customer service for both internal users and external clients
• Continue to support a commercial approach to income generation across the Events department, to support revenue growth and diversification across sectors
• Grow event sponsorship, proactively identifying sponsorship opportunities and supporting the team, convenors, and others to become more confident in developing sponsor relationships and securing sponsorship income.

These are innovative roles to develop social prescribing in the local NHS. Based in one of the six Primary Care Networks (PCN) you will work in different GP practices across that Network to deliver their specific priorities. You will join a team of ten Social Prescribing Link Workers working in Haringey PCNs and be part of a wider community-based Borough team which offers information, signposting and short-term support across the eight localities in Haringey.

Social prescribing empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing through referral to non-medical Social Prescribing Link Workers, who give time, focus on ‘what matters to me’ and take a holistic approach, connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.

Social prescribing can help to strengthen community resilience and personal resilience and reduces health inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing and physical inactivity, by increasing people’s active involvement with their local communities. It particularly works for people with long-term conditions (including support for mental health), for people who are lonely or isolated, or have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing.
At the centre of the social prescribing process is the Social Prescribing Link Worker, working with GP Practices in a Primary Care Network, who connects patients who are referred to a range of activities and services in the local area depending on their needs, interests and capacity for engagement. About SCEC

Your Role

The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. • Understand the work of local and regional voluntary sector infrastructure organisations in a the East of England or South Central /South West to strengthen the support offered by Clinks and increase partnership working and collaboration. 

• Work alongside the National Influencing & Networks team to use this intelligence to influence key decision making at a local and national level.

• Gather intelligence from the sector to identify and understand the needs of place-based organisations and share feedback with HMPPS and other key stakeholders to develop operational processes and influence future commissioning opportunities. 

• Provide support to voluntary sector organisations, keeping the sector informed and up to date and capturing the support provided and its impact. 

• Respond to requests from voluntary sector organisations in need of support and signpost or consider what assistance Clinks (and others) can provide.

This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.

Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.

A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.

Your expertise and skills:

To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. Development Officer Vacancy

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive fundraiser to develop and maintain strong relationships with donors and partners, while providing high-level administrative and communications support to the department. The post-holder will play a key role in contributing to securing funding for all aspects of the School’s work.

This is a full-time, year-round position, reporting to the Head of Development & Communications (however, if part-time hours would better suit you, we will consider applicants who can commit to working a minimum of three days a week).

In this newly established role, the post-holder will:

• Support the generation of the School’s philanthropic revenue from both existing and new sources, with a focus on Trusts and Foundations and smaller gifts (<£500), primarily for:

  • Student scholarships and bursaries
  • Capital projects
  • Academic and creative initiatives

• Work with the Head of Development & Communications to manage a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, helping to retain existing support through:

  • Timely and effective donor communications
  • Meetings, reporting, and stewardship

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ‘Friends of Rambert School’ scheme, including:

  • Maintaining a database of renewals
  • Coordinating engagement opportunities

• Use research and communication skills to:

  • Identify new fundraising prospects in the UK and abroad
  • Assist in preparing compelling proposals and applications to secure support for the School and its students
