The Role:

As a member of the Work Experience team, you will play a key role in facilitating meaningful work experience placements for young people in Tower Hamlets. In this role, you'll work closely with local employers in Tower Hamlets and the City of London to support them in delivering engaging placements.

Responsibilities will include actively recruiting and onboarding new employers through phone calls, online meetings and carrying out on-site health and safety checks. In addition, you’ll support the Work Experience Manager in delivering school-based sessions, such as assemblies and Q&A drop-ins, to help prepare young people for their placements. You’ll also assist in coordinating placements at The Switch by creating schedules and supporting young people with their tasks. During delivery weeks, the team is responsible for providing responsive support to employers and schools. In case of any issues, you may be required to work from the office five days per week during these periods. 

Details:

· The role sits in the Work Experience team and reports to Work Experience Manager

· Working hours are typically 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4pm Fridays

· Working from home (WFH) is typically 2 to 3 days a week, except on delivery weeks where you may be required to be in the office 5 days per week

· Flexibility may be required to cover meetings or deliver events outside of these hours and WFH days

· Start date end of June/early July 2025

Our bold vision is that millions of refugee youth have access to transformative education by 2040. 

Our team is fully remote, with our Global Team based in the UK, Canada, Singapore and Greece. We also have two learning centres, one in Amman, Jordan and one in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya and work with a growing list of partners across Kenya, Uganda and Malaysia. 

The Opportunity:

This is where this new role comes in: The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in supporting the stewardship of the current donors while also securing the vital resources needed to realise our bold ambition and help us transform the lives of millions of young refugees and conflict affected youth across the globe.

You will be part of leading a growing and changing organisation, and will work closely with Amala’s two Co-founders and the Fundraising Manager to develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy, cultivate and deepen key donor relationships and boost our income growth from our current £800k towards our £3 million target by 2027, driving the financial sustainability necessary for Amala’s continued growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead the development and execution of a multi-year fundraising strategy 

• Lead all fundraising, communications and stakeholder engagement

• Lead donor engagement and management 

• Team management and leadership

Who we are looking for:

A strategic, entrepreneurial and ambitious senior fundraiser with a proven track record of securing significant UK and international funding (£1m+ annual income generation), developing high-impact strategies, and building strong donor relationships. You will be an inspiring leader with exceptional people management skills, with experience in leading growing organisations, and who enjoys the strategic side of the role as well as having a hands on approach. 

The role would be best suited to someone who is committed to making a difference to the lives of young refugees, with a strong grounding in international charity sector fundraising. and international funding.

Essential experience:

• Proven experience in a senior fundraising management role within the non-profit sector, ideally within international development.

• A proven track record of success in fundraising, particularly in developing and executing complex fundraising strategies for a growing non-profit organisation.

• Experience developing and implementing multi-year income generation plans.

• A strong history of securing six-figure, multi-year grants and contracts in the UK and internationally, with an annual income generation of £1m+.

• Senior-level experience managing relationships with multiple, diverse funders and donors.

• Experience writing successful partnership bids, grant proposals, cases for support, and theories of change.

• Experience in leading change in a growing organisation.

• At least three years of experience leading and managing a team, with a track record of developing and supporting staff.

What we offer:

This full time, fully remote position offers a salary of £50,000-55,000 if you are a UK resident. If you reside in a different location, the salary will be adjusted accordingly. You will work closely with a driven, collaborative, entrepreneurial and supportive team from around the world, and you are required to be in a time zone GMT +/- 3 hours.

The Events & Community Manager role is a new position, created to give the attention and expertise needed to our large and profitable portfolio of virtual challenge events, which have collectively raised over £1m gross income per year for two years. It is a crucial role within the team, overseeing the innovation, planning and delivery of all virtual challenges. You will work with colleagues accross the organisation to seize opportunities, whilst ensuring best practice in our fundraising activity and infastructure, delivering brilliant stewardship during supporters participation in the virtual events and beyond. 

The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Executive. Collaboration will be important, especially with the senior Events team managers who lead the innovation, planning and delivery of third party and PCR owned bespoke events. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Project Management and Income Growth

• Lead the strategy to maximise the value of PCR's virtual challenge events portfolio, working with the Head of E&C and others to take a long-term view, building on existing foundations to grow and maintain a sustainable income stream
• Oversee the project management of PCR's Facebook Challenges in the UK, leading end-to-end planning and delivery with the support of the E&C executives to hit ambition fundraising targets
• Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission
• Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value
• Oversee the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in virtual challenge events, gaining a solid understanding of the audience, ensuring supporter journeys are relevent and engaging and using feedback to continually develop positive experiences for supporters
• Work with other events team managers to contibute to the planning and delivery of other activity areas, including third-party challenges

Product Development and Innovation

• Continue to grow and improve PCR's Facebook Challenge portfolio, staying up to date with sector trends and opportunities for new journeys, suppliers, propositions and tools, taking a test and learn approach and always ensuring that learnings are captured. For this, there will be realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed for new ideas
• Develop approaches to engage supporters beyone their initial participations, working with Public Fundrasing colleagues and others to test cross-selling journeys and maximise the lifetime value of virtual event fundraisers
• Work with other team members to improve other areas of social and virtual fundraising (e.g. non-challenge fundraising on Meta), ensuring all supporters are stewarded and income generaltion opportunities are seized upon
• Maintain a strong level of understanding of PCR's existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products & stewardship that motivate and inspire.
• Alongside the Head of E&C and other Events team managers, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight
• Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities which meet PCR's objectives
• Be proactive in your personal development & look for opportunities to learn - with support from your manager

Team leadership

• Line manage one Events & Community Executive, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development
• Work with the other Events team managers to support (and where appropriate take a lead on) the development of processes and infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, compliance and best practice across the team
• Work closely with the Head of E&C and the other Events team managers on team strategy and capacity planning
• Work with the team to embed our agile ways of working, modelling the principle that we all take collective responsibility for the team's shared goals
• Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team
• Work with the Head of E&C and other Events team managers to embed and model PCR's organisational values: innovation, collaboration, accountability and championing the patient voice

As with everyone in the the Public Fundraising department, you may also get involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities. 

Attendance may be required at some weekend and evening events, for which TOIL will be given. 

Skills and Competencies

Some of the key attributes of the Events & Community Manager will be:

• A willingness to get stuck in, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Confident event and project management skills, including end-to-end planning, budgeting & results tracking
• An understanding and (ideally) experience of large-scale virtual challenge events or similar peer-to-peer fundraising activity

Turn2us is a national charity tackling financial insecurity and its structural causes. We work with co-producers and partners to provide people in financial crisis with the means and agency to get back on their feet, build resilience, move forward with their lives and thrive.

Turn2us and its partners have secured £1.5 million from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an ambitious and innovative new programme that will support charities in England and Scotland to empower diverse and marginalised communities to respond to climate change and to get their voices heard in environmental policy and media debates.It will focus on Disabled people, those facing financial insecurity and people from ethnic minority communities. These voices are often the least heard from in national and local debates on our environment. This new work aims to change that.

As part of this programme, The National Lottery Community Fund have funded the creation of an Engagement Manager post at Turn2us to work with those facing financial insecurity. The Engagement Manager employed by Turn2us will deliver activity with smaller charities and grassroots organisations supporting those facing financial insecurity that:

• Increases awareness of the impact of environmental change and related policy on different communities 
• Listens to people in these communities to find out what actions they want charities and local government to take
• Develops shared local environmental policy priorities and empowers these organisations to advocate directly to local and national policy makers
• Identifies actions that these organisations can take to support communities to respond to climate change, and helps organisations to implement them
• Identifies people with lived experience to receive hands on training in order to act as diverse champions to media and policy makers

They will work closely with Community Engagement Managers employed by Disability Rights UK, and Race Equality Foundation, focussed on reaching organisations supporting Disabled people and people from ethnic minority communities. 

We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month on a weekly basis.

JOB PURPOSE

Based within the global Fundraising team, the Programme Fundraising Manager will generate sustainable income and play a pivotal role in delivering fundraising strategies to support the mission and objectives of Lumos, including the 10-year ambition to be launched in November 2025.

Working with country programmes in Colombia, Kenya, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as the global system change programme, the postholder will manage a portfolio of donors and prospective donors, positioning Lumos to secure new and repeat funding from charitable trusts, foundations and institutions. The role will also provide advice and support to the wider Fundraising team, building team capacity and writing compelling proposals to engage High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and other funders in Lumos programmes.

We are looking for a skilled relationship-builder and strategic thinker who has strong writing skills and experience working with donors. The postholder will work closely with colleagues across Programmes, Communications, Operations, and Finance, and act as a trusted partner to senior leaders across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive fundraiser to make a tangible impact on children’s lives globally.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Prospecting & Engagement

• Develop and manage a pipeline of short, medium and longer-term prospects for each programme area under the 10-year ambition through research, strategic positioning and targeted outreach
• Identify new funding opportunities and support programme teams to align donor interests with Lumos’ work, collaborating with colleagues to develop tailored approaches
• Project manage programme fundraising appeals (e.g. targeted Trust mailings) in coordination with the Programmes and Communications teams
• Stay informed of philanthropic trends and share donor insights across teams
• Represent Lumos in relevant networks and platforms to raise our profile and pursue funding opportunities.

Proposal Development

• Lead the development of high-quality, high-value proposals to secure new and repeat awards from charitable trusts, foundations, and institutional donors
• Work closely with Programme teams to shape and package funding propositions
• Draft compelling funding proposals and marketing materials as needed, including for HNWI
• Ensure proposals meet donor and internal requirements, in compliance with quality assurance, risk management, and sign-off processes
• Support the development of collaborative, efficient proposal development systems.

Awards Management

• Support senior leaders in managing key donor relationships through tactical advice, briefings, and pitch preparation
• Build and steward a portfolio of current and prospective donors, ensuring a high-quality engagement experience
• Work with internal teams to stay informed about funding gaps and strategic priorities
• Develop tools and guidance to support programme delivery teams in meeting donor requirements during implementation
• Contribute to organisation-wide funding management best practices and systems.

Reporting

· Coordinate timely, accurate and engaging donor reports that programme achievements and challenges in a strategic way, ensuring full compliance with donor rules and expectations

• Maintain up-to-date donor information, activity logs and opportunities in Salesforce
• Provide colleagues with donor insights to support planning, collaboration and engagement
• As required, produce internal reports on fundraising against income targets.

Other

• Build strong working relationships across all teams and levels of the organisation
• Actively contribute to team meetings, planning sessions and cross-team initiatives
• Stay informed about developments in child rights, child protection and care reform
• Support the delivery of strategic fundraising priorities

Occasional international travel may be required (1-2 trips per year) depending on programme priorities and donor needs.

The Programme Fundraising Manager currently has no line management responsibility; however, the team is expected to grow in the coming years and the role may expand to manage and build the capacity of 1-2 fundraisers.

· Lead by example in respect to ensuring safeguarding principles and practices are appropriately applied

· Identify and escalate any gaps or improvements necessary for effective safeguarding in conjunction with the Senior Safeguarding Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead for the area of responsibility

Abandon Normal Devices are seeking an experienced finance professional or small accountancy provider to manage our core finance functions on a freelance/contract basis. This is an ongoing, part-time contract supporting the financial operations of a small, ambitious arts organisation working at the intersection of art, technology and digital culture.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of charity finance, skilled in Xero, bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, audit preparation, HMRC filings and support with funding reports. You may be an individual already set up for freelance work, or a firm used to providing finance support to charities or arts organisations. You’ll work closely with the Chief Executive and liaise with trustees and external auditors as needed.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be involved in leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Crohn’s & Colitis UK’s research strategy including our programme of grants, and our work to support increased patient and public involvement in research.  They will work with the Director of Services & Evidence and Head of Evidence & Research to support the charity’s involvement with external research bodies and contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet our strategic objectives.

About You

We are looking for someone who has proven experience of delivering successful research funding and patient and public involvement research activities.  The successful candidate must be adept at establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders and comfortable working with operational performance metrics, and implementing strategies and objectives for the organisation.  Ideally your background will be in health care or working in a medical charity and you’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent.  Given this role will involve managing and providing leadership to the Research team, prior management experience would be an advantage. Whilst not essential, a knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis would be beneficial also.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. You will be required to attend two Directorate days each year and occasional face-to-face meetings with your team or our partner agencies. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

About the role

We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to join a busy and creative team in Hackney. You will join an exciting team and collaborate to build a group of volunteers from all walks of life, raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. We are bold with a culture of continuous review and improvement, where we try new things, take risks, and sometimes fail. There will be numerous opportunities to improve our team’s effectiveness. Your voice will count!

We also work closely with local artists and universities. We’d love you to bring your own ideas, along with your experience of fashion, retail and current trends, to this role. You will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development – many of our shop managers were promoted internally. Ensuring our recruitment practices are as equitable as possible is our number one priority so we are looking for someone who advocates for others and challenges injustice.

You will be primarily based in the Hackney shop, but you may be required to travel to other shops within London 1 & 2 on a short-term basis.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have retail experience at a supervisory level alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be keen to build your people management skills including working with Crisis members. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates with an interest or background in visual merchandising, although this is not essential. You will be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness.
