About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Lead to play a vital role at the heart of our organisation. This is a senior, hands-on post that combines strategic oversight with day-to-day delivery across all core operational functions - including HR, governance, IT and data, finance administration, and internal systems. You will lead the development and continuous improvement of the charity’s infrastructure, ensuring we are well-run, compliant, and set up to deliver real impact. Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior leadership team, you’ll take ownership of the systems and processes that enable our frontline work and support our future growth. The role involves both direct delivery and coordination - particularly through managing relationships with key external service providers in IT, HR, and finance. You’ll ensure these partnerships are effective, responsive, and aligned with the organisation’s needs. There may also be future opportunities to line manage an Operations Assistant or similar role, as the organisation continues to grow and develop its internal capacity. Position: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Senior Programme Manager

Location: Sidcup, Greater London, and hybrid working of 1 day in the office and 4 days remote (subject to change)

Contract Type: Permanent and full-time

Starting Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 gross per annum (based on experience) plus benefits

Purpose

The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. 

The post holder will support project delivery, ensuring quality expectations (internal and client), delivering within the scope and budgeted resources of projects, and in line with project timelines. The post holder will work closely with other members of the project delivery team, our technical team, delivery partners, and consultants to ensure projects maximise their positive impact.

The Programme Officer will also support the Senior Programme Manager to disseminate good management practice across the organisation, and advise on delivery approaches.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:

Project Support

• Provide support to Programme Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contracts
• Take on the project management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold, ensuring that they are delivered to time and quality
• Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded and filed
• Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build a solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects
• Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery
• Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates
• Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects
• Provide timely responses to client queries and alert the Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management of any potential risks
• Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers
• Liaise closely with technical colleagues, Head of team, and Programme Managers / Officers on project support needs.

 Project Financial Management

• Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances and liaising with the Finance Team and Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management
• Monitor and support the processing of consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts
• Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend
• Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools. 

Organisational Support and Business Development

• Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways
• Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects 
• Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required
• Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally
• Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by senior members
• Assist with the identification and monitoring of business opportunities in donor markets, as requested
• Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate bids for tenders
• Collate and share project information to support the Business Development and Communications department.

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours

The Programme Officer will require the following combination of applied skills, knowledge, and behaviours to successfully contribute to team goals:

Required:

• An undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject 
• Up to 2 years’ experience working on project support or delivery within international development,  research and/or the consultancy sector
• Ability and confidence to work independently and manage their own workflows
• Good communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at the individual level and in representation of the organisation
• Excellent drafting skills.
•  Ability to understand and effectively analyse and utilise financial information
• Proven ability to resolve problems, anticipate barriers and create practical solutions
• High IT proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SharePoint, etc.)
• Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained
• Ability to travel internationally when required.

Advantageous:

• 1-2 years direct project management experience
• Proficiency in additional languages, especially Arabic or French.

At Ada National College for Digital Skills, our mission is to educate and  empower the next generation of diverse digital talent. We are a specialist Further Education college, where every 16-19 student takes Computer Science and all of our diverse Higher Level and Degree Apprentices work in skills shortage disciplines in innovative, blue-chip companies.

The digital skills gap is costing the UK economy an estimated £63 billion a year in lost GDP. Ada seeks to fill this skills gap by equipping young with the skills industry actually needs.

Ada was announced by the Prime Minister in December 2014; England’s first new FE College since 1993 and since then we’ve gone from strength  to strength including a Good with Outstanding features in our first Ofsted Inspection.

16-19 Provision:

As of 2024, we have 187 16-19 students enrolled. Our most recent results are outstanding; 39% of A level results at A*- B and 74% achieving at least one Distinction or better in their externally assessed  Computing BTEC. This makes us the best education institution in the country for this BTEC.

Degree Apprenticeships:

Across our London Victoria and Manchester Ancoats campus, we have 363 apprentices currently enrolled on our Higher and Degree Level Apprenticeships. We specialise in five disciplines at present: software development, data analytics, tech consultancy, cyber security and business analysis, working with a wide range of SMEs and corporate organisations such as PwC, Bank of America, Deloitte, Clearscore, Just Eat, Capita, MHRA, Booking,com and Salesforce.

At present 38% of our learners are female, 51% are from ethnic minority backgrounds and 50% come from low income households compared to national averages of c. 20%. We’re passionate about building a supportive, values driven environment for both our students and staff.

Key Aspects of the role & main duties and responsibilities:

• Promote Ada at outreach events (careers fairs, assemblies, workshops) across Greater Manchester with the aim of meeting our application, offer holder and enrolment targets.
• Engage and network with school contacts to ensure growth of Ada’s active contacts in outreach database.
• Manage and maintain of the school database to support outreach communications.
• Assist with event planning, administration and delivery including Outreach events, Careers Fairs, Open Days, School visits to Ada and Keep Warm events - This may involve commitment on some weekends and will require evenings and earlier starts.
• Ensure we are on track to meet our targets for the volume of applications, offers and ultimately enrolments for our new Manchester Sixth Form and ensure we meet our diversity targets.
• Support the administration of the Sixth Form application process including dealing with enquiries to the inbox and on the phone in a timely manner.
•  Sending application communications including invitations for assessment, offers and enrollment paperwork,  data entry and keeping accurate records of all applicants and their information within the customer relationship management tools (Salesforce, Civica and others).
• Accurate record keeping and data entry into Ada’s systems to produce insightful reports to drive recruitment and inform the leadership team.
• Administration and processing of students enrolments on GCSE results days and afterwards.
• Support with creation of Marketing materials for outreach campaigns and events.

We’re seeking an ambitious and strategic fundraising leader with a strong track record of securing income from grants, sponsorship, and philanthropic sources and a keen eye for detail. Ideally, you’ll bring experience of working on a previous capital campaign (however, this is not essential) and be ready to step into a broader senior leadership role, helping to shape overall organisational culture and strategy. This is an opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who’s ready to take the next step in their career and help lead one of Scotland’s most dynamic cultural organisations.

The post will have a key role to support, develop and grow smaller groups who have unique relationships with, and understanding of, “seldom heard” groups in the borough.

In this post, funded for 2 years,  you will focus on:

• Identifying and engaging with these groups to better understand their service offer, user base and development needs.
• Connecting: Building trusting and supportive relationships to help form connections across the wider sector by establishing an informal grassroots network of micro VCSEs in Bromley to build a sustainable support system of peer support and intelligence sharing.

The Director of Youth Work will sit in the Leadership Team, working in collaboration with the CEO and managers to ensure FAST’s overall strategic objectives and desired outcomes are met.

FAST London (FAST) is a Christian youth charity based on the Patmore Estate focused on supporting 10–19-year-olds from deprived backgrounds in Battersea and South Lambeth. Our mission is to help young people succeed by creating safe spaces and providing diversionary and inspiring activities that develop resilience and inspire hope in efforts to achieve this. We build relationships with young people by engaging with them in environments where they feel most comfortable whilst doing activities they love. Once relationships are developed, we work with young people and stakeholders to overcome challenges and unlock potential.We also provide opportunities for young people to explore the Christian faith as we believe it transforms lives. We serve people without regard to their religion or ethnic background.

Context for this role

This is a pivotal moment for FAST as the need for our work has expanded due to more young people falling into poverty and struggling in schools. Whilst capacity is a challenge with 60% cut in public youth programmes over the last decade (YMCA 2020). We are still growing strong and are able to work with 300 young people annually. However, our desire is to continue this work of establishing and growing a healthy youth organisation that provides excellent & vibrant youth work that makes a difference to young people’s lives and produces healthy staff that are equipped and empowered to do the job they love. Therefore, the need to grow our team is quite pressing. We are in search for someone with experience leading youth work and developing a healthy organisation who can help strengthen our work here in very significant ways, with a particular gifting in thinking strategically and working hard to get results.

Role overview:

As a member of MTL’s senior management team, you will take responsibility for the organisation’s growth and outward facing initiatives. You will lead and manage the organisation’s portfolio of social mobility leadership strands, and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders. You will provide dynamic day-to-day leadership for the MTL’s directorate responsible for income generation, impact, research, communications and policy, and ensure the organisation continues to be an exemplar of innovation, integrity and collaboration. You will also be contributing to, implementing and monitoring delivery of the organisation’s strategic plan.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Corporate Partnerships Lead to advance the development and management of strategic relationships with companies and corporate foundations. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow the impact of Learning through Landscapes by securing income and added value from corporate partners who share our vision for outdoor learning and play.

The role is hybrid and can be based in either our Hampshire or Stirling offices or remote. It will be varied and involve: identifying and approaching prospective partners; developing and presenting compelling proposals; managing long-term corporate relationships; reporting on impact; and supporting volunteering and pro-bono engagement. You’ll also contribute to shaping our Corporate Partnerships Strategy and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to maximise partnership value.

You will need:

• Experience of developing corporate partnerships, ideally in the charity, education, or environmental sectors
• Proven ability to develop compelling proposals and presentations tailored to corporate audiences
• Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of developing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing partnership proposals and impact reports
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how corporate social responsibility aligns with business objectives
• Confidence in networking and representing an organisation at external events
• Experience of planning and delivering partnership activities such as employee volunteering or pro-bono projects

The Bury Intensive Support Service has been developed to provide a bespoke supported living service for adults over the age of 18, with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health and complex needs. The adults accepted into the service have been identified through the Transforming Care Agenda.

This service operates 24/7, using a trauma-informed and case-management model of care, to provide support and opportunities for increased independence for three adults. We have developed a new and exciting role of Support Coordinator to provide operational leadership of the service in a sensitive and dynamic way. 

Staff members recruited will initially be required to work between our Registered Office, the service, and current care provision to ensure our service users experience a well-planned transition into their new home.

Westway Trust are seeking an experienced and confident Team Administrator to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Property Department, playing a key role in ensuring the annual cycle of organisational requirements in terms of administration are well planned, on track and delivered by the relevant part of the team.

About the role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help deliver SSAFA volunteer support to the serving community.

You will work closely with the Serving Community Manager to develop SSAFA’s support to the serving community through its volunteer delivered Serving Community Teams and the Community Volunteering Service.

Your role will be to ensure a safe and quality service is delivered by volunteers, and support them from the recruitment and induction stage through to becoming a fully trained volunteer.  

You will monitor and review the service, providing feedback on progress and areas of concern as well as statistical data to the Serving Community Manager.

In addition, you will provide support and supervision to Community Volunteers and ensure robust recording and handling of beneficiary data in line with SSAFA’s policies and procedures.

You will be part of a small innovative team working together to plan and deliver SSAFA’s support to the serving community, rolling out services which will assist volunteers in helping beneficiaries. You will work with all departments across SSAFA and with external stakeholders to raise awareness of the needs and challenges of the serving community and how SSAFA can help.
