Since then philanthropy has continued to play an important role in shaping the University. There have been a number of fundraising campaigns, including a £1m urgent capital appeal after the Second World War and a £1.4m campaign to fund the Vale ‘student village’ in the 1960s. In 2015 we closed the Circles of Influence Campaign, raising £193 million, making it the largest HE fundraising campaign outside Oxbridge and London.

DARO exists to support our academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University’s strategic priorities. The Office, which is comprised of five teams, is focused on fundraising and volunteering from alumni, organisations and individuals who are passionate about changing lives, through funding various research projects, supporting student bursaries, mentoring students, and providing internships, as well as providing a versatile programme of engagement opportunities for our global alumni community.

There is a rare opportunity to join the DARO Senior Leadership team at this exciting time in our current campaign.

We are looking for an Associate Director of Charitable Partnerships to maximise our enormous income generation potential; coach, nurture and challenge the well-established Charitable Partnerships team; and deliver a bold and innovative strategy to support this exciting campaign, raising significant gifts yourself from an established and growing portfolio. You will lead a team of expert trust and corporate fundraisers to work across the campus and deliver an institution-wide service to generate income, networks and influence from corporates, charities, trusts and foundations. You will be responsible for creating a motivational and supportive environment for your team with professional development opportunities for all members. You will maintain oversight of all significant charitable relationships, including your own portfolio, and be the first point of contact for the amazing opportunities in this space. As a key member of DARO’s Senior Leadership team you will help shape the strategic direction of the function and work collaboratively with other Associate Directors to take our campaign to the next level.

For more than 33 years, Refugee Support Group (RSG) has stood alongside refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants across Berkshire.

RSG began as a community social group for refugees and asylum seekers with members offering each other moral support and advice. Leading RSG

About you

You will bring a strong track record of leadership and income generation, ideally from within the charity or public sector, but this is not a prerequisite. You will be an excellent communicator who can influence and inspire internally, externally and publicly.

Above all, you will bring authenticity, resilience and compassion, with the ability to lead through complexity and change.

Lived experience or prior experience of working closely with refugee and migrant communities is welcomed, but not essential. What is essential is that you will be passionate about supporting refugees and that you are driven by a deep belief in inclusion, justice and human dignity.

The Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Prevention Team, sits within the wider Fundraising and Communications directorate and delivers the UK SAYS NO MORE campaign and Everyone's Business. 

Everyone's Business works with employers to deliver a domestic abuse and sexual violence response to their employees along with offering a range of tools and resources such as the Everyones Business Respond to Abuse Advice Line, a training package and an employee IDVA and ISVA service. The team have worked with approximately 250 employers ranging from large multi-national companies to statutory organisations and local authorities. 

Please note this is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere in the UK with the requirement to be at our Head Office in London 1 day a week (Thursday).

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

The role involves providing both emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and other forms of gender-based violence, including those at high risk. This includes completing DASH risk assessments and tailoring support to each survivor's individual needs. The postholder responds to referrals from employees with lived experience of abuse through the Everyone's Business IDSVA service and acts as the lead IDVA/ISVA for some contracted business partnerships. They work closely with businesses adopting IDVA/ISVA services and are responsible for maintaining and updating business development plans as required.

A key part of the role includes building relationships and raising awareness with partner organisations through meetings and training, and working collaboratively with criminal and civil justice agencies, health services, SARCs, police, courts, social care, and other voluntary sector organisations. The role includes conducting needs and risk assessments, developing individual safety and support plans, and acting as a single point of contact for survivors throughout their journey, whether or not they choose to report to police. It also includes multi-agency advocacy and attendance at MARACs, always maintaining a trauma-informed and survivor-focused approach.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. Here's what the team will be looking for

The role requires an ISVA or IDVA qualification or equivalent relevant experience supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence, along with a willingness to undertake further training. A strong understanding of the impact of domestic and gender-based violence on survivors and their children is essential, as is experience in risk assessment, safety and support planning, and providing both emotional and practical support, including guidance on legal remedies.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with employers to respond to domestic and sexual violence, as well as a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and trauma-informed practice. Knowledge of intersectionality, diversity, and equality is important, along with experience participating in the MARAC process and working within a multi-agency framework.

The role also demands excellent administrative and time management skills, confidence working independently, and the ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure. Proficiency in using digital systems to accurately record casework and prior experience in delivering presentations or training sessions are also required.

About the role

The Director of Fundraising will play a pivotal role in driving income growth and ensuring the long-term sustainability of King's Trust International. In this role, you’ll lead on the delivery of high-value fundraising campaigns across acquisition and stewardship portfolios. You’ll manage multi-channel campaigns including regular giving, lottery, raffles, newsletters, and supporter journeys, with budgets exceeding £500k.

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and supporting strategic planning and evaluation.

To be successful as the Senior Individual Giving Executive, you will need:

• Proven experience managing direct marketing or fundraising campaigns across varied channels
• Strong analytical skills and a test-and-learn mindset
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

As Community Mission Facilitator you will deliver the Corps spiritual and community programmes, actively encouraging and engaging the community to attend. This involves providing practical and pastoral guidance, signposting support available and linking the projects with the existing Corps Mission.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our South West Care Team.

Reporting to the Family Support Manager of the South West Care Team and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.

Having worked in a stressful and emotional environment you have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.

This post will cover the South West of England, with this position focusing on Swindon and Wiltshire area.

· An experienced child health, education or social care professional - applications will be particularly welcome from those who have worked in a community environment and those with a recognised qualification in education, health or social care
