To help us maximise our work with funding partners and strengthen the wider work of the communications team we are seeking a Communications Officer, Partners & Content to create engaging and inspiring communications plans and content to help us reach target audiences.

We know that we have been too quiet for too long but the urgency of the nature and climate crisis means that we need more people to know more about our unique work and influence in nature conservation. You will bring ideas, energy and ambition to help us redefine our communications work with trusts, foundations and other organisations that support our work, to help us towards our organisational objectives.

You will be a talented wordsmith – knowing how to engage different audiences whether through our website, publications or social media. Always listening to what is needed, understanding why and when, and then delivering on time to a high standard.

Kineara is looking for someone who can grow our fundraising potential and engage key stakeholders across the sector, while delivering engaging communications and outreach campaigns that demonstrate our social value and grow our support base. You will be keen to understand how our work makes a difference to people and use our impact to demonstrate our social value.  This role crosscuts a range of key charitable specialisms, so you may have experience working in communications and be keen to widen your skillset; you may have a background in impact evaluation; or you may have worked in fundraising or development for a non-profit. We are keen to invite candidates with a range of experience from a variety of non-profit roles and are especially interested to meet candidates who have been part of – or are ready to be part of - the strategic growth of a charitable organisation.

Job Description

Communications:     

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues
• Develop brand identity for Kineara’s new charitable arm, ensuring it is consistent across all activities in the organisation, while maintaining Kineara’s overall ‘look and feel’ to ensure coherence in branding, colours, messaging, style and approach.
• Oversee the creation, development, distribution of compelling, impact-driven story-telling about Kineara’s work and beneficiaries using interviews, blogs, case studies, etc.
• Use a range of platforms to distribute print and electronic content including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, leaflets, posters reports, e-newsletters, and Kineara’s website
• Work closely with IT and business managers to ensure smooth running of internal communications
• Impact:
• Work closely with Operations Manager and practitioners to embed outcomes, create frameworks for monitoring and evaluate Kineara’s projects; and produce yearly evaluations and Impact Report of Kineara’s services
• Use learning from impact analysis to share with team and deliver impact-driven communications and to share our social value to funders and other stakeholders.

Business:

• Perform market research and analysing the Kineara audience and its needs
• Working with management to create and plan public relations strategies and campaigns to enhance brand image and voice
• Writing publicity content such as press releases, newsletters, speeches, website copy, leaflets etc
• Contribute to Kineara evaluation and reporting on projects and proposals
• Contribute to Kineara grant funding application
• Coordinate promotional events and attending conferences, press launches and exhibitions

Strathclyde would like to appoint an early career fundraiser to the role of Alumni Fund Officer, working within its established and successful Alumni and Development team. This role will deliver fundraising programmes to support the University’s Alumni Fund – a fund which is championed by many thousands of our graduates, and which supports the whole student experience. 

You will deliver a range of fundraising projects including an annual student telethon campaign, direct mail, and digital projects (including Giving Day campaigns). Working across the University, you will develop close and supportive relationships with senior staff and talented students alike.

The University’s Alumni Fund helps students to have an outstanding student experience by funding a range of projects including scholarships for students in need; community programmes; international experiences; learning resources and student-led projects. You will raise awareness of the Fund to the student community, and you will manage the funding application process, taking an active role in awarding funding to successful projects.

About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.

We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.

Purpose of Job

The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will be responsible for:

• Nurturing relationships with existing and prospective donors

• Sustaining and developing our group of individual and community-based supporters.

• Growing income, including regular giving, donations, appeals, legacy giving, community groups and other fundraising activities.

We are looking for a strong communicator with some experience of fundraising who is keen to develop their career in this area.

This post can be undertaken on a hybrid working basis with some days home-working and some days working in IKWRO’s offices.

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.

The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technical Officer, Enterprise  to support the design, implementation and knowledge exchange of conservation enterprises and related local sustainable finance mechanisms that generate finance for conservation and/or improve the livelihoods of local communities at Fauna & Flora’s projects around the world.

You will be supporting business model development, private sector partnerships, project management, fundraising, capacity development and communications. You will work closely with our regional programme and partners in 20-plus countries, who are working on the ground to deliver conservation impact. 

You will be a highly motivated and organised individual, looking to apply your expertise in business and finance to solve conservation challenges. You will have an understanding of developing business plans and developing financial models. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures as well as from rural entrepreneurs to corporates and investors. You will enjoy applying your business skills to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills and passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.

Fluency in English is essential and French is highly desirable. Knowledge of language relevant to Fauna & Flora’s work, such as Bahasa, Swahili, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish, will be highly valuable.

Our established specialist CRM function works across the business to develop and coordinate a programme of communication that strengthens our engagement with the people that want to support our cause.

The team play an important role in helping us achieve our target of growing our active and engaged supporter base by leveraging our investment in marketing automation technology (Adobe Campaign) to deliver a greater supporter experience at every touchpoint. The team sits within our Communications, Policy and Campaigns directorate collaborating across the organisation with various stakeholders to help support and achieve our goals.

About the role

This is your opportunity to play a part in the day to day running of our CRM team and to really make your mark here at Shelter. You’ll be working closely with the Head of CRM and the CRM Manager, alongside another CRM Executive and will be responsible for delivering our email communications for Shelter, building the data selections and workflows from scratch and utilizing dynamic content, as well as fulfilling data briefs for other channels.

You will be involved in exciting projects that deepen our engagement with our supporter base, and encourage them to take repeat actions. We’ll rely on you to ensure that our communications follow best practice as well as making the most of our personalization capabilities with the aim of increasing our supporter engagement.

You’ll also be the go-to person for expert understanding of how campaigns and supporter journeys should be built within Adobe Campaign as well as understand the data held to ensure it is being leveraged appropriately. Along the way, you’ll get to collaborate with colleagues in Fundraising, Campaigns, Retail, Services, Data Management and Insight, IT and Research as you do all you can to ensure we deliver the very best supporter communications.

About you

To succeed, you’ll need a firm grasp of the CRM tech landscape, including list management, segmentation and dynamic content, with experience of Adobe Campaign, Adobe Classic or a similar platform being essential. We’re looking for substantial experience in a CRM role with significant output and a proven track record of building and deploying complex automated journeys.

You’ll have good understanding of email marketing best practices, and the ability to edit email templates in HTML is desirable. Additionally, experience using Litmus (or something similar), as well as data selection experience, would be desirable.

What is for certain though is that you’re well-organised, have strong attention to detail, and can manage your time effectively as well as being used to building dynamic content within a template and building segments and audiences.

You’ll be playing a big part not only in our team but within the wider organisation as we look to use CRM more and more.

This is an exciting new position for a highly motivated, organised, analytical and collaborative grants management professional with the experience and commitment to manage a portfolio of grants. The role will include ensuring that project leads have the tools, systems and processes in place to deliver against their grants, whilst adhering to organisational and donor-specific compliance standards.

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is a high-profile organisation and trade association leading the international clean energy transition as the world seeks to stay within 1.5c global warming target. Our mission is to ensure that wind power establishes itself as the answer to today’s energy challenges, providing substantial environmental and economic benefits.

Over the next two years, GWEC expects to rapidly scale up the number and size of the grants that we are managing globally. The post-holder will play a pivotal role in securing new grants, and building the capacity of the global staff team to effectively manage the grants once secured. The successful applicant is likely to be someone who enjoys problem solving, innovation and collaboration with multiple departments and individuals. 

Headline overview of responsibilities: 

- Grant identification and pipeline management: Conduct research to identify potential grant funding opportunities. Conduct research and analysis on the reporting and financial requirements of prospective donors. Maintain the funding pipeline/ grant management database

- Grant application oversight: Manage the end-to-end grant application process for new grants.

- Budget and financial management: Collaborate with the project and finance teams to develop project budgets. Monitor spending against grants in relation to activities delivered. Ensure Project Leads receive monthly spend updates. Ensure donor budgets are utilised as directed, financial reporting is on-track, and any alterations are communicated internally and externally. Support Project Leads to re-forecast budgets.

- Grant compliance: Ensure compliance with grant agreements, reporting requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Ensure that the project delivery team is inducted on contractual obligations, and provide support and advice regarding adherence to contracts throughout the grant period. Support on grant management documentation, including quality assuring processes. Support the project delivery teams in the preparation and submission of donor reports, through until grant close-out.

- Grant Performance Management: Ensure that all grant management tools are set up with each grant’s inception period. Coordinate quarterly grant oversight meetings, and hold project delivery teams to account for delivery of projects. Ensure GWEC fulfils its obligations to donors as per grant contracts. Support the finance team to liaise with auditors throughout audits.

- Knowledge sharing: Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant funding and statutory funding. Share technical advice, grant specific guidance and project management best practices and tools. Contribute to GWECs grant-related systems, policies, processes, and guidelines.

- Strategy delivery: Support the Grants Director in the delivery of the fundraising strategy, including assuming responsibility for the delivery of identified tasks within the team’s annual work plan. Engage in regular monitoring of progress against the work plan.

Essentia Person Criteria:

• Right to work in UK or Portugal

• Fluency in written and spoken English

• University Degree (BA or Bsc)

• 3 or more years relevant  experience, in either a non-profit organisation or a grant making organisation

• Be diligently compliance-driven to ensure organisational adherence to grant-maker requirements, and local laws and regulations

• Commitment to the work and mission of GWEC and the clean energy transition 

• Proven ability to build good working relationships with finance and non-finance staff

• Strong analytic skills and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Person Criteria:

• Experience of grant funded project audits

• Experience of developing project metrics and KPIs.

Press and Media Relations Officer

The Press and Media Relations Officer represents the work of SCIE, acting as the point of contact for members of the press and other media representatives. The post holder is responsible for maintaining the profile and reputation of the charity and helping to achieve our influencing objectives with policymakers and leaders in the social care sector. Responsibilities include disseminating information to members of the press and other media to raise awareness of SCIE’s policy positions, research findings and improvement programmes. The post holder will help shape and deliver media influencing plans that support SCIE’s influencing objectives and use a variety of channels to achieve these objectives, including both traditional and social media.

The Role 
 
As our Communications Officer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a wide range of communications that contribute to increased brand awareness of the charity, demonstrate the charity’s expertise and impact, educate the public about cancer prevention, signs, symptoms and screening and support the generation of income for the charity. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Plan, research, create and distribute creative media content, including press releases, blog posts, case studies and videos, to support research, services, cancer insight, fundraising, events, retail, corporate partnerships and campaigns. 

• Proactively seek, identify and engage in media opportunities, such as attending events, organising photo opportunities and meeting face-to-face with case studies.

• Manage third-party suppliers such as photographers and film production agencies, obtaining quotes, providing clear briefings and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.

• Respond to press enquiries efficiently and to a high standard. Understand which media enquiries are appropriate for the charity’s brand and key messages and those which are not, so that the charity prioritises only those which are value-adding. 

• Organise TV, radio and press interview opportunities for the Chief Executive, Directors and Heads of. Prepare clear briefings for interviewees. 

• Demonstrate and convey professionalism at all times and represent the charity when communicating with the media, members of the public, volunteers and supporters to demonstrate the charity’s core values.

• Monitor and evaluate the charity’s media coverage and the digital impact of PR content, providing a monthly media clippings report. 

• Provide PR input to the charity’s Leadership Team, Board reports and performance dashboards. 

• Maintain continuous awareness of industry news and regularly update colleagues on key developments. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to a degree or equivalent level of education or have relevant experience in a similar role at a similar level. 

• Previous media experience, whether through journalism or a PR / in house media assistant role. 

• Experience in building relationships with colleagues and journalists and managing media opportunities such as interviews, broadcast opportunities and photocalls. 

• An ability to write compelling copy for multiple audiences, and media channels, often translating complicated information into a format that is easily understood by readers. 

• An agile media mind, able to spot the key storyline that will maximise the possibility of media coverage and attract the attention of the media. 

• An evaluative mindset, supporting continual improvement by analysing coverage and associated data from media activity. 

• An ability to keep a calm head when faced with a reactive media situation in a manner that best protects the reputation of the charity 

• A thoughtful and empathetic outlook, able to engage with people affected by cancer with sensitivity and respect.
