About the Role

As the Senior Partnership & Innovation Officer, you will support the CEO in the progression of the Children's Community by developing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of community groups, organisations, partnerships and networks across the Children's Community, Greater Manchester and nationally. Working with local communities and partners, you will help generate the learning and evidence required to fulfil the national change strategy through the delivery, development and testing of effective and evidence-informed practice.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of community groups, organisations, partnerships and networks across the Children's Community, Greater Manchester and nationally.

• Support the development and delivery of SSH CC's Local System Change and innovation agenda.

• Capture and share learning from local delivery to support national influence, including the creation of case studies, events and resources.

• Share learning and identify opportunities to scale and support community best practice.

• Develop and manage effective communication strategies to raise the visibility of SSH CC. 

About You

To be successful, you should have:

• A strong background in engaging with families and communities to co-develop strategies and programmes.

• Experience in working collaboratively with partner organisations, building and managing partnerships in educational or community settings.

• Skilled communicator with the ability to adapt messaging across audiences and platforms, with a strong understanding and application of digital tools for data collection, analysis, and communications (e.g. websites, social media).

• A sound understanding of the impact of poverty on families and the systemic barriers communities face.

• A commitment to SCUK & SSH CC vision, mission, and values.

The Communications Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) informs, inspires and engages our many audiences about dementia and the progress being made in research. The Strategic Communications Officer will be part of the Strategic Communications team – one of several specialist teams in the wider Department.

The Strategic Communications Officer will be responsible for producing high-quality and compelling communications to raise the profile of the charity and rally much-needed support for the cause.

They will play a vital role in shaping our brand, driving impactful campaigns, and supporting fundraising initiatives that help accelerate the search for a cure for dementia.

The postholder will also empower teams across the charity to consistently deliver key messages through exceptional storytelling, to reach Alzheimer’s Research UK’s core audiences. 

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Working with the Senior Strategic Communications Manager, lead on communications for charity-wide key moments, including co-ordinating activity, developing key messaging and narrative, and creating compelling content that can be used across teams. Effectively measure the impact of this work.

· Help ensure consistent, powerful storytelling, amplifying our key messages, across all platforms including web, email, social and video.

· Work closely with teams to ensure their content embodies Alzheimer’s Research UK tone of voice.

· Prepare, write, pitch and issue media stories to generate coverage for our initiatives and campaigns.

· Establish and develop valuable and productive relationships with journalists; respond promptly to queries, including occasional out-of-hours queries.

· Develop effective relationships with teams across Alzheimer's Research UK’s Communications, Policy and Involvement (PCI) Directorate, and Fundraising & Marketing (F&M) Directorate, in order to identify and deliver on communications needs.

· Attend and/or organise appropriate meetings and events – these will require some travel and occasional unsociable hours.

What we are looking for:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Confidence working with computers; knowledge of Microsoft office packages and databases, good keyboard skills.

· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage a large number of tasks with internal and external stakeholders to multiple deadlines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately with people affected by dementia and to translate scientific work for lay people; knowledge of dementia and/or science is advantageous, but not a requirement.

· Experience working in the PR, marketing or brand sector.

· Experience of supporting or co-ordinating partnership working.

· Experience of delivering communications programmes through a variety of media (e.g. press, social media, email, events).

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

The Estate Officer will ensure the delivery of the regional maintenance programme, comprising routine, periodic, planned and urgent works, and the delivery of time limited maintenance consultancy and estate management projects. Working alongside the Conservation Projects Manager, the post holder will ensure regional estate compliance with CCT policies.

The post holder will be the main contact for all maintenance related matters and will maintain the property management records for the estate, develop volunteer projects and training on maintenance reporting and conservation cleaning and will assist with fundraising.

To achieve this ambitious goal, we’re seeking an experienced and motivated Education Officer to take ownership of our work with schools. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about outdoor education and conservation who thrives on empowering others to create change. 

What you will be doing:

We're looking for someone to work with Primary and Secondary schools, directly with children and with teachers, to embed nature-based learning across the curriculum. You will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality educational sessions, training teachers, and championing outdoor learning. 

Who we are looking for: 

• You have a personal connection to nature and believe that connecting others to nature plays a key role in addressing the climate and ecological emergencies.

• Experience of teaching or delivering education / training sessions. Ideally with a background in teaching, outdoor learning, or Forest School.

Day-to-day you will manage the SHOAL database as the person responsible for collecting, collating and presenting the data relevant to all of SHOAL’s activities, partners, programmes and projects.

The primary set of data you will be managing is the SHOAL 1,000 Fishes Database. This is a database of more than 2,000 fish species that will require constant updates on their conservation status from experts and partners.

You will be a key person in collaborating with potentially hundreds of partners across the world to ensure that our database of priority species adequately reflects the action on the ground for each species.

To stand out you will bring your passion for conservation to the overlooked issue of the freshwater biodiversity crisis. You will be comfortable working in a small team, be self-motivated, and able to work independently, with a willingness to learn and adapt. Your interpersonal and communication skills in holding external relationships set you apart.

Job summary: 

You will work as a member of Corporate Partnerships team which sits within Philanthropy and Partnerships. You will work closely with the Corporate Partnership Manager (Account management).

You will manage a portfolio of corporate supporters, building excellent relationships with key contacts and cultivating them for additional support, providing first-class stewardship and maximising income-generating opportunities.

In addition to this, you will proactively support the development of new business opportunities, conducting prospect research and building relationships with corporate prospects.

Principal accountabilities

• Manage a portfolio of low-level (£0k - £50k) corporate partners, including but not limited to fundraising, cause-related marketing, and sponsorship relationships.
• Proactively support the recruitment of new partners and the cultivation of new business opportunities. Conducting prospect research and developing impactful relationships.
• Deliver and support the team in providing first-class stewardship for corporate accounts.
• Support the creation of corporate fundraising materials e.g. posters and fundraising guides.
• Ensure contracts and legal responsibilities are drafted and in place for all partnerships and relevant activities, and conduct necessary due diligence.
• Process all thanking, banking and administration for corporate gifts received.
• Maintain and update the Raiser’s Edge NXT database in relation to your portfolio of supporters, including prospect and proposal tracking, ensuring that all data kept is in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
• Support with delivering High-Value Special Events, such as the coordination of guests, as required.
• Administration support, such as managing supporter mailings, managing the partnerships inbox and corporate web form enquiries.
