The role

The Content Officer will play a key role in managing and developing BDF’s Knowledge Hub, our unique resource library of accurate, authoritative, and up-to-date information on business and disability. They will be responsible for collecting, monitoring, and analysing data on the Knowledge Hub’s use and performance, and using these insights to create and deliver a digital content strategy.

The requirement

• Experience managing and updating digital content, ideally using CMS platforms such as WordPress with Kadence or similar themes
• Proven experience conducting content audits and implementing accessibility checks
• Experience using SEO tools and website analytics to monitor and optimise digital content performance
• Experience writing and proofreading web copy, video scripts, and multimedia content
• Technical aptitude to learn and implement new digital features, plug-ins, or tools
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and their application to digital content

As our Senior Database Officer, you'll take the lead on important tasks within the Database Services team. Working closely with the Database Manager to develop and refine automated processes using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Power Automate and Excel Power Query. Your expertise will help streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy and ensure our supporter database runs smoothly and reliably.

You’ll be a trusted point of contact for the Supporter Care team, offering guidance on manual data entry and helping improve documentation and processes. You’ll help shape best practice across the organisation, ensuring our fundraising teams are empowered to use the database confidently and effectively. You’ll also support our two Database Officers in responding to complex queries.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection guidelines (GDPR) and will bring previous experience in using a fundraising database for data entry, maintenance, and importation. A high level of computer literacy is essential and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Particularly experience using PowerQuery within Excel, or experience using the M language within Power BI to drive the automated manipulation of data.

The LifeSkills programme offers groups of families the chance to come together to a trusted venue such as a children’s centre or community setting. Examples include but are not limited to overcoming setbacks, managing debt, boosting confidence to return to work, CV writing, interview skills. The aims of the LifeSkills programme are to support participants to increase their confidence and 21st century skills, move closer to training/volunteering/employment, improve their social networks, and grow their confidence to provide low cost and nutritious meals.

Main Responsibilities:

The role involves delivering LifeSkills sessions to groups of families in South West Yorkshire. The postholder will also be the main point of contact for delivery partners hosting programmes (e.g. small charities, schools) and staff and volunteers delivering sessions, and be expected to respond promptly to a wide range of queries and requests for support. Examples might include, for instance, devising LifeSkills programmes for different cohorts, presenting to potential partners, devising risk assessments, recording data, and visiting and providing guidance and support for staff and volunteers delivering sessions in venues across the area.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

· To be the main point of contact for delivery partners (as well as for fundraising / marketing staff), for a portfolio of LifeSkills programmes, and respond promptly to queries and concerns. 

· To support delivery of LifeSkills sessions (e.g. take bookings, develop PowerPoint slides) as well as planning and delivering own LifeSkills programmes.

· Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced level

The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) is an independent charity established in 1967. For over 57 years, we have promoted our vision of a society in which people can live safely and are treated with equal dignity and respect, regardless of where they are from or how they came to the UK.

To achieve this, we provide legal advice, representation and holistic support to migrants experiencing injustice, poverty, and discrimination; we undertake parliamentary advocacy and expert policy analysis; we speak out and challenge damaging and discriminatory media narratives about immigration; we use law as a tool of resistance;  we work in solidarity with migrants and grassroots groups, and we build campaigns that both build power and influence power; working towards radically transforming immigration and asylum law and policy.

JCWI has been through a period of transition over recent years, with pressures on the organisation, its staff, capacity, and resources increased by successive political attacks on migrant communities, the eroding of migrants’ rights through legal and policy change, the rise of the far-right in the UK and the widening gap between the rich and powerful and Britain’s multi-racial working class.

We are looking for a Societies Development Coordinator to provide accurate, consistent and innovative support to the 400+ clubs and societies, committees and volunteers. They will support the delivery of a variety of student led events and activities, empowering and enabling student leaders. This role will put students’ experience at the forefront of everything we do, focusing on providing excellent management of stakeholder relationships, problem solving and risk management with student activities.

The role is a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work remotely on a 40/60 basis (40% working from the office).

About You

You are a strategic and dynamic communications and marketing leader with a track record of delivering campaigns across multiple channels. With experience in managing corporate communications, media relations, and digital engagement. You will understand how to create communications that resonate with target audiences.

Your leadership style is collaborative and results-driven, underpinned by strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities without compromising quality. You have experience overseeing digital platforms from website content and email marketing to social media strategy.

You are an excellent writer and editor who can develop and deliver a compelling narrative aligned to strategic goals. Your expertise in brand management ensures consistent application of visual identity and tone of voice across all touchpoints. You have successfully negotiated and managed contracts and service-level agreements, ensuring value for money.

About the Role

The Interim Head of Communications and Marketing will lead the operational planning, management and development of the College’s communications and marketing functions.

The role will ensure that the College’s marketing and communications activity has clear objectives, is based on audience insight and is evaluated against defined metrics.

This role is pivotal in shaping and articulating the College’s overarching narrative, integrating messages from across all workstreams into a compelling and engaging story that enhances understanding and raises the profile of the College and its products and services with internal and external audiences.

Working within a small communications team, this role will work with colleagues and clinical representatives to ensure all activity supports the College’s organisational strategy and values. The role requires balancing a marketing mindset with an understanding of the needs and expectations of our membership, ensuring our communications remain relevant and member focused.

Your duties include but are not limited to:

• Contribute to the development of the marketing and communications strategy that has clear objectives, is based on stakeholder research and insight, has a credible operational plan for delivery and clear evaluation metrics.
• Lead the planning and delivery of proactive and responsive marketing and communications across all channels – earned, owned and paid.
• Lead the development and cascade of messages and engagement across the College’s communications channels, ensuring strategic alignment and consistency.
• Be a proactive and collaborative member of the directorate, embodying the College’s values and leading by example.
• Prepare papers, reports and advice for College Boards, Trustees and Council as required.
• Manage the team and project budget(s) for the Marketing and Communications Team.
• Provide direction, support and constructive feedback for team members through regular 1:1 meetings.

East London Students' Union is a progressive charity that supports around 25,000 students that study at the University of East London. We are based in one of the most diverse boroughs in Europe and our membership proudly reflects the communities where we are based.

Our purpose is to support and empower our students by representing their views and providing a range of supportive services, events and activities to make university life the amazing experience it should be. Our Docklands offices, meeting rooms and reception area were fully refurbished last year. In Stratford, our new with sitting-around areas, reception, performance rooms and meetings room opened. In January, we opened our first café, on our Docklands campus. Our second café is currently under construction and will open on our Stratford campus in mid-September.

We're now working to build a students' union that champions their aspirations and can deliver what's needed to make a difference. We're excited about this and have invested in several new posts to give us the expertise needed. We're in the last year of our strategic plan and will be starting work on our next phase later this year.

You’ll use your experience to help us do more preventive work to help our students to take action on their own behalf. You’ll have excellent attention-to-detail and maintain accurate and comprehensive casework notes. (We have two vacancies.)
