We have an exciting new opportunity for a Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance — a key leadership role within the organisation, and part of the Senior Leadership team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a core function that supports how we govern ourselves, manage risk, and meet our regulatory responsibilities. You’ll be shaping the frameworks that help us work with confidence, protect our people, and deliver our mission with integrity.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with senior management, the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, this role provides leadership across Governance, Risk and Compliance functions. You’ll oversee a skilled team covering:
- Risk
- Compliance
- Governance and Company Secretariat
- Information Governance and Cyber Security
- Group Legal function
You’ll lead on maintaining and evolving our Risk Management Framework, ensure we meet legal and regulatory requirements, and provide assurance to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
You’ll also help embed ethical standards and good governance practices across the organisation, supporting sound decision-making and high levels of accountability.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of the core responsibilities set out in the job description here and the leadership experience to deliver them.
You will need to demonstrate:
- Experience leading Governance, Risk and Compliance functions in a complex organisation.
- A strong grasp of Risk Management, including setting risk appetite and reporting to Board level.
- Knowledge of governance frameworks and best practice in Board and Committee management.
- Familiarity with regulatory and legal compliance across key areas (e.g. charity law, data protection, information governance, cyber).
- Experience working directly with Executive teams, Trustees or Boards, with the ability to provide independent insight and challenge.
- A collaborative leadership style, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- A track record of developing and improving frameworks, policies and reporting processes.
- The ability to navigate strategic change and advise on associated risk and compliance impacts.

Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. Responsibilities
- Strategic Implementation & Fundraising
- Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income, with a target of 17.5% of overall revenue within 3 years.
- Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.
- Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.
- Represent CAP at high-level events and conferences to build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Major Donor Development
- Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, personalised communications, and bespoke stewardship plans to cultivate and steward major donors.
- Develop compelling restricted funding projects to attract major donor investment.
- Implement a donor recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate major donor support.
Philanthropy Team Membership
- A member of the Philanthropy Team of our Mission and Movement Directorate.
- Providing peer support and development with other members of the Philanthropy Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy to set ambitious targets and KPIs for the postholder, ensuring they are aligned with overall fundraising goals.
- Ensure the timely submission of funding applications and effective stewardship of grant and donor relationships.
- Implement robust systems and processes for donor relationship management, data analysis, and performance tracking.
Impact & Reporting
- Ensure that the CRM is updated with engagements, proposal submissions and engagement plans in a timely fashion.
- Develop compelling narratives and impact reports that effectively communicate the impact of major donor support.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.

- Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.

We're looking for a Content Designer to research, structure and write user-centred content for Tearfund's channels. This includes Tearfund's website, email, advertising, social media and print channels. We value effective collaboration at Tearfund, so you won't be working in isolation. What does this mean day to day?

The role:
- Responsibility for all aspects of the financial management of Greenpeace Environmental Trust (GET), a registered charity.

- Extensive technical knowledge of accounting principles and best practice, with reference to specific UK charity accounting rules and regulations.
- Substantial experience of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
- Experience of involvement in financial year-end and annual statutory audit.

Justlife are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Community Support Worker in Brighton to join the Changing Futures Team within Brighton & Hove City Council. The post will be co-ordinated between Justlife and Homes & Adult Social Care, working with clients who would benefit from specialist tailored support.
You will work alongside Social Workers, a Domestic Violence and Abuse Worker, a Recovery Coordinator, Homeless Prevention Officers, as well as Peer Support Workers with lived experience. Role Summary
The role requires the use of specialist knowledge and relationship skills to influence clients with varying degrees of mental health, addiction and trauma related issues to engage with health services and other agencies across the city. This will include advocacy in registering them for medical services and accompanying them to appointments; assisting them in addressing all aspects of physical and mental health or substance addiction needs, as well as advocating or them to get access to source housing and social security benefits. Working collaboratively with our partners within the Changing Futures Multi-Disciplinary team, the role is dependent on good communication and joint working with a variety of partners and professionals.
The role requires a high degree of motivation to support clients with multiple disadvantage, often in a lone-working situation. With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our clients and with some experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity.
A high degree of emotional intelligence is required to support clients, many of whom have complex emotional needs, with backgrounds of trauma, neglect, abuse, crime and low self-worth. A role of this nature will experience a range of emotions from joy to grief and as such requires a high degree of resilience to cope with the emotional demands of the role.
Making decisions “in the moment” to do the right thing to mitigate risk with clients can place high emotional demands on the job holder. The role is highly reactive, unpredictable and at times, chaotic. The role therefore requires a high degree of self-awareness to one’s own resilience levels and exercising appropriate levels of self-care.

Service Delivery
Using frontline practical and procedural knowledge of working with complex clients to support them to engage with health care services during their housing vulnerability. This could include, but is not limited to:
- Assisting them in addressing housing, financial, health or wellbeing need
- Accompanying them to appointments
- Collaborating with agencies within the Changing Futures partner agencies such as the local authority, primary health care housing providers and substance misuse services.
- Advocating on behalf of the service user to access medical care, housing and benefits.
