Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance — a key leadership role within the organisation, and part of the Senior Leadership team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a core function that supports how we govern ourselves, manage risk, and meet our regulatory responsibilities. You’ll be shaping the frameworks that help us work with confidence, protect our people, and deliver our mission with integrity.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with senior management, the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, this role provides leadership across Governance, Risk and Compliance functions. You’ll oversee a skilled team covering:

• Risk
• Compliance
• Governance and Company Secretariat
• Information Governance and Cyber Security
• Group Legal function

You’ll lead on maintaining and evolving our Risk Management Framework, ensure we meet legal and regulatory requirements, and provide assurance to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.

You’ll also help embed ethical standards and good governance practices across the organisation, supporting sound decision-making and high levels of accountability.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of the core responsibilities set out in the job description here and the leadership experience to deliver them.

You will need to demonstrate:

• Experience leading Governance, Risk and Compliance functions in a complex organisation.
• A strong grasp of Risk Management, including setting risk appetite and reporting to Board level.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks and best practice in Board and Committee management.
• Familiarity with regulatory and legal compliance across key areas (e.g. charity law, data protection, information governance, cyber).
• Experience working directly with Executive teams, Trustees or Boards, with the ability to provide independent insight and challenge.
• A collaborative leadership style, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• A track record of developing and improving frameworks, policies and reporting processes.
• The ability to navigate strategic change and advise on associated risk and compliance impacts.

We're looking for a Content Designer to research, structure and write user-centred content for Tearfund's channels. This includes Tearfund's website, email, advertising, social media and print channels. We value effective collaboration at Tearfund, so you won't be working in isolation. Purpose

The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. They aim to draw supporters closer to the work we do, deepening their relationship and support of CAP. Income from CAP¿s major donors is vital for the future expansion of CAP in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Implementation & Fundraising 
• Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income, with a target of 17.5% of overall revenue within 3 years.
• Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.
• Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.
• Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.
• Represent CAP at high-level events and conferences to build relationships with potential donors and partners.

Major Donor Development

• Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
• Conduct face-to-face meetings, personalised communications, and bespoke stewardship plans to cultivate and steward major donors.
• Develop compelling restricted funding projects to attract major donor investment.
• Implement a donor recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate major donor support.

Philanthropy Team Membership

• A member of the Philanthropy Team of our Mission and Movement Directorate.
• Providing peer support and development with other members of the Philanthropy Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to set ambitious targets and KPIs for the postholder, ensuring they are aligned with overall fundraising goals.
• Ensure the timely submission of funding applications and effective stewardship of grant and donor relationships.
• Implement robust systems and processes for donor relationship management, data analysis, and performance tracking.

Impact & Reporting 

• Ensure that the CRM is updated with engagements, proposal submissions and engagement plans in a timely fashion.
• Develop compelling narratives and impact reports that effectively communicate the impact of major donor support.
• Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide regular updates on fundraising progress to the Head of Philanthropy.

Innovation & Best Practices 

• Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.
• Implement innovative fundraising strategies, such as engaging new philanthropists, digital engagement, corporate engagement and high-impact events.
• Evaluate philanthropy activities with the rest of the team and the Fundraising Insight & Innovation team to develop a deeper understanding of supporters and identify new prospects, making data-informed decisions.
• Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Philanthropy Team.
• Create opportunities for supporters to engage at a senior level and deepen their relationship with CAP, working with the CEO and other senior staff.

Communications & Campaign Management: 

• Plan philanthropy initiatives that in order to produce excellent bids, proposals, events, and reports, delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with the Brand and Digital Engagement teams to align messaging and campaigns.
• Ensure philanthropy plans align with brand guidelines and fundraising regulations.

Measurable Outputs:

• Implementation of an annual philanthropy plan that contributes to the wider long-term fundraising strategy.

Skills required

• A proven fundraiser who can inspire, influence and deliver results
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, particularly in securing philanthropic support and building partnerships

• Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities

• Proven track record of success in securing significant major gifts (5-6 figures) from high-net-worth individuals.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in high-value fundraising.

Educational requirements

The Trusts & Foundations Specialist will play a key role in identifying and securing grants from trusts and foundations. You will lead on researching new opportunities, crafting compelling applications, and stewarding relationships with grantmakers. We’re looking for a diligent and thoughtful writer with a sharp eye for detail and a deep interest in our work, who is also keen to contribute to the wider life of the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Prospecting & Pipeline Development

• Research and maintain a pipeline of trusts and foundations aligned with OSH’s mission and growth priorities.

• Work closely with OSH leadership to align fundraising priorities with programme plans and organisational growth.

• Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in OSH’s CRM.
   

Bid Writing & Submission

• Write and submit high-quality, tailored applications that articulate OSH’s impact, values and plans.

• Ensure applications are accurate, persuasive, and meet deadlines and funder requirements.

• Collaborate with the team to gather supporting information, budgets, and case studies.
   

Reporting & Stewardship

• Prepare timely and engaging reports for successful grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and strong stewardship.

• Maintain excellent records and monitor deadlines for reporting and renewals.
   

Cross-Organisational Contribution

• Coordinate annual impact reporting, including data analysis, case studies, and visual storytelling.

   • Set and monitor income and expenditure budgets for philanthropy and partnerships, reporting on performance to the Director of Fundraising and other stakeholders.

   • Use data-driven insights and KPIs to evaluate and refine strategies for maximum impact and return on investment.

We’re looking for two Place Leads to help drive our work in Stoke-on-Trent and East Staffordshire. Each role will be rooted in its local area, but both will work across the whole county, helping us build more connected, inclusive systems that support people to be active in ways that matter to them.

This work is part of a wider investment from Sport England, focused on changing how systems support people to be active. That means shaping how physical activity is understood, prioritised, and embedded, not just in programmes, but in policies, partnerships, and everyday decisions. That includes health, local government, community development, and beyond.

The Grants & Foundations Lead will pioneer a new approach to grant management at TLG through shaping the administration and systems used, and harnessing AI to create efficiencies. The role:

• Responsibility for all aspects of the financial management of Greenpeace Environmental Trust (GET), a registered charity.
• Responsibility for the preparation of annual statutory accounts, annual report, and conducting the annual audit.
• Work with the Events team to ensure that the budgeting, financial control and management, and reporting of the Glastonbury Festival and all other festivals and events is conducted in an accurate and timely manner.
• Preparation of the annual budget and presentation to the board of trustees.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and written finance report to trustees and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate cash flow management and forecasting procedures to proactively manage all cash balances.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified, or a finalist Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or other chartered accountancy qualification) or will be qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience of working in a finance function in a hands-on role.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of accounting principles and best practice, with reference to specific UK charity accounting rules and regulations.
  • Substantial experience of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience of involvement in financial year-end and annual statutory audit.
  • Proven experience of delivering a business partnering-focused service and providing in-depth insight, analysis and guidance to budget-holders.

At Single Homeless Project's (SHP) Elms, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Support Assistant ready to make a lasting difference in people's lives. Elms is a vibrant service based in Leyton (Waltham Forest) that brings together supported housing, a daytime activity programme, and a small floating support service. The supported housing element provides longer-term placements for adults with a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia, some of whom may also be managing physical health needs. Here, you’ll play a vital role in supporting residents to maintain their daily routines, manage their treatment, and grow in confidence as they move toward greater independence. Justlife are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Community Support Worker in Brighton to join the Changing Futures Team within Brighton & Hove City Council. The post will be co-ordinated between Justlife and Homes & Adult Social Care, working with clients who would benefit from specialist tailored support.

You will work alongside Social Workers, a Domestic Violence and Abuse Worker, a Recovery Coordinator, Homeless Prevention Officers, as well as Peer Support Workers with lived experience. The teams is part of the wider Changing Futures Sussex Systems Change priority is to identify blocks and barriers in the system, recognising best practice and flexible working to overcome the challenges facing people with multiple disadvantage.

Multiple disadvantage or multiple complex needs is defined by the national Changing Futures Programme as people who experience three or more of: homelessness, current or historical offending, substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental ill health.

Role Summary  

The role requires the use of specialist knowledge and relationship skills to influence clients with varying degrees of mental health, addiction and trauma related issues to engage with health services and other agencies across the city. This will include advocacy in registering them for medical services and accompanying them to appointments; assisting them in addressing all aspects of physical and mental health or substance addiction needs, as well as advocating or them to get access to source housing and social security benefits. Working collaboratively with our partners within the Changing Futures Multi-Disciplinary team, the role is dependent on good communication and joint working with a variety of partners and professionals.

The role requires a high degree of motivation to support clients with multiple disadvantage, often in a lone-working situation.  With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our clients and with some experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity.

A high degree of emotional intelligence is required to support clients, many of whom have complex emotional needs, with backgrounds of trauma, neglect, abuse, crime and low self-worth. A role of this nature will experience a range of emotions from joy to grief and as such requires a high degree of resilience to cope with the emotional demands of the role.

Making decisions “in the moment” to do the right thing to mitigate risk with clients can place high emotional demands on the job holder.  The role is highly reactive, unpredictable and at times, chaotic.  The role therefore requires a high degree of self-awareness to one’s own resilience levels and exercising appropriate levels of self-care.

Service Delivery

Using frontline practical and procedural knowledge of working with complex clients to support them to engage with health care services during their housing vulnerability. This could include, but is not limited to:

• Assisting them in addressing housing, financial, health or wellbeing need
• Accompanying them to appointments
• Collaborating with agencies within the Changing Futures partner agencies such as the local authority, primary health care housing providers and substance misuse services.
• Advocating on behalf of the service user to access medical care, housing and benefits.
